Cut our TCO in half while improving the overall performance of our infrastructure operations
I like Nutanix Prism Central. The primary benefit is that we can manage everything from the same page. It also gives you the data in graph form on the main page, so you can keep a close eye on what is happening. You can watch for high utilization and see the disks and reports in the central console. It's a resilient and highly stable application The modernized infrastructure and data services feature is the most beneficial to me as an administrator. We derive business value in terms of storage because we have the option of using Windows Firewall. Nutanix Unified Storage allows us to consolidate our data platform within the Nutanix cluster itself without using external storage. You can work with all types of unstructured data seamlessly with Unified Storage. There should be no problem with that. There are no issues with audio, video, uploads, downloads, etc. It's a flexible solution. This is what I understood as I was reviewing the documentation today. Nutanix is trying to simplify storage and has many options for scalability.

Cons

"I think if the tool puts features that only exist in the easy copying area through Azure Storage Explorer, so introducing such features in Microsoft Azure Object Storage can make it more user-friendly."
"The initial setup could be more straightforward. It would be best if you had a little bit of training or an understanding of the concepts. It's important because if you don't do that, then you might end up not following the best practices. Then you will learn it the hard way by making mistakes and then know that you shouldn't have done this or that. It's better to attend workshops and take a hands-on approach."
"There is room for improvement in customer service and support."
"The administration of the solution is not as easy as we would like it to be."
"The setup process could always be a bit easier."
"Technical support should be a little bit faster."
"We would like it if we did not have to use another encryption solution to encrypt the storage."
"I have no complaints about Microsoft Azure Object Storage, but maybe its market size could be more extensive, and its backup speed enhanced."
"We have issues with software updates occasionally."
"The implementation is a little bit complex and should be made easier."
"Another aspect that needs improvement is continuous protection against security threats such as ransomware and potential data leakage."
"Improving quota policies would be advantageous, particularly by offering the option to implement blocking instead of just issuing warnings."
"The pricing could be improved."
"The biggest thing for me, which is a pet peeve of mine, is the integration with the hardware platforms."
"I haven't had any issues with the solution so far."
"While they are good and they do work, some of the snapshotting and tiering features are not as simple to set up as they could be."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The tool's licensing costs are annual. It should be made reasonable."
"The cost should be reduced to make it more competitive."
"You can download the application from Microsoft free of charge."
"Microsoft Azure Object Storage requires a license. We are using a pay-as-you-go model and we have an enterprise subscription model as well."
"Encryption feature is an add-on."
"The pricing for Microsoft Azure Object Storage is high and needs some reduction. It's a seven out of ten, price-wise, because it currently limits your consumption, so the solution should have better pricing."
"I would rate the pricing a four out of ten because there is a lot of competition out there."
"Pricing is always confusing for all Microsoft products. For this solution, they do provide the estimates, but it is not easy to guess the exact amount that we will be billed."
"I'm happy with the cost and licensing because I don't have big volumes."
"The price of the license is expensive when comparing it to traditional storage."
"Nutanix Unified Storage isn't expensive."
"Nutanix Unified Storage was cheaper than other solutions we evaluated."
"For clients running Nutanix, the licensing cost for Files is a small add-on cost."
"It is very good. It is much more competitive than a dedicated storage platform."
"It's not the cheapest solution. It's in line with other solutions, but it offers features that the competitors don't have at any price point, especially with regard to analytics and ransomware prevention. No one else has any sort of object-based storage available. Nutanix Unified Storage is a lot more feature-rich. This is a situation where you get what you pay for."
"The cost of Nutanix Unified Storage can be prohibitive for some small and medium-sized businesses, making it challenging for them to adopt the product."
