Users can easily deploy and manage it
The solution's most valuable feature is that it is simple to deploy and manage. I can't say what features of the tool I like since it is very much a deploy-and-forget product. We don't use any advanced features of the tool in my company. The tool's recovery options are good, especially since it integrates with Active Directory, making everything a simple process. The product's integration capabilities are good.

The primary function of it is to back it up off-site so that if you ever have any kind of data corruption, data loss, that you can easily recover that data.
They have done some drastic improvements just in the last year that have really met a lot of our needs. Being able to sync between computers was a big one; the ability to administer it through a web portal, that was a big thing; and it's all in Connected MX now. At the moment, I don't have anything that I would ask the product manager to add to it, because he's done a really good job of getting it to where it's at right now. Nonetheless, one thing they could do better on is knowledge and education about it. Nobody knows about it, and I feel that everybody needs it, they just don't know it.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The ease of administering and integrating the solution is great."
"As a Microsoft shop, we find this product easy to use."
"It is easy to use and administer."
"BitLocker is completely stable."
"The ease of use is the most valuable feature. The ability to import data to build your frontend on top of the data is very simple and very useable."
"The solution works the way it's supposed to - stability and scalability are fine."
"While it helps mitigate unauthorized data access by enhancing file and system protection through encryption, the tool is really enhanced with the combination of other Microsoft Security and Compliance features like data labeling."
"The tool has improved the starting up of our notebooks and end-user devices."
"The integration features are the most valuable. The integration is specific to each solution. It works well with SQL and Oracle databases and so on."

Cons

"The console GUI could be better."
"I would like to see improvement in the solution's central management of passwords. Currently, we install it separately."
"The only thing that could be slightly improved is the occasional stability issue."
"The migration itself is a nightmare."
"If integration with Active Directory are not mandatory for him, I think that there are many other solutions in the market that equal or are much stronger than Microsoft."
"They should offer better login capabilities that are more secure."
"BitLocker should be available on standard Windows. We need to spend money on a Pro license to get BitLocker because it's essential to protect our customers' data. We don't want that to fall into the wrong hands."
"The visualization could be better."
"On the exchange server, you do not have the best options for adjusting your mailbox. This feature is not included. Also, disaster recovery backups can be improved. Some other solutions, such as HP Data Protector, have more features."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is free. It is enabled as part of the operating system. Once you have an operating system license, you're licensed for Bitlocker."
"We didn't pay for additional licenses since the solution is built into Windows."
"The solution is expensive."
"I don't know the costs. In terms of Microsoft licensing, we are at E3 on the business, and we're in the process of pricing out and moving to E5. So, a lot of this is included within our licensing agreements."
"BitLocker is already in Windows 10 and its price has already been "paid"."
"The solution’s pricing is reasonable."
"The tool is cheap compared to the products offered by competitors. If one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the tool's price as one."
"The solution is cost efficient."
