Allows customers to manage SAN and NAS data within a single storage solution
The tool's most valuable features are the SnapLock and SnapMirror features. If something goes wrong with the data, we can restore it. This isn't a mirror; we store data in different locations. If there's an issue on the primary site, we can retrieve data from the secondary site. Multiprotocol support in NetApp Cloud Volumes ONTAP is beneficial because it allows customers to manage SAN and NAS data within a single storage solution. This feature eliminates the need to purchase different types of storage.

Provides a secure and hassle-free environment
One area where Norton 360 could improve is the constant push for upselling. The notifications urging me to buy additional services, like dark web monitoring or a secure browser, can be overwhelming. It feels like they are trying to sell me more than I actually need. I would prefer a more straightforward approach where essential features are included in the base license without constant prompts to purchase extras. While notifications about actions taken for my security are good, they could be more informative, letting me know exactly what they did to protect me without the upsell pitches. Simplifying the user experience and providing clearer information about the actions taken would make Norton 360 more user-friendly for me.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We use the mirroring to mirror our volumes to our DR location. We also create snapshots for backups. Snapshots will create a specified snapshot to be able to do a DR test without disrupting our standard mirrors. That means we can create a point-in-time snapshot, then use the ability of FlexClones to make a writeable volume to test with, and then blow it away after the DR test."
"Its scalability is very good."
"Lastly, the API and web services are fairly good. That is an important feature too. We write some code to do different things. We have code that runs to make sure that everything is being backed up as we say it is and we try to also detect places where we may have missed a backup."
"One of the most valuable features is its similarity to the physical app, which makes it familiar. It's almost identical to a real NetApp, which means you can run all of the associated NetApp processes and services with it. Otherwise, we would definitely have to deploy some hardware on a site somewhere, which could be a challenge in terms of CapEx."
"It gives a solution for storage one place to go across everything. So, the customer is very familiar with NetApp on-prem. It allows them to gain access to the file piece. It helps them with the training aspect of it, so they don't have to relearn something new. They already know this product. They just have to learn some widgets or what it's like in the cloud to operate and deploy it in different ways."
"The Cloud Manager application that's on the NetApp cloud site is easy to use. You can set up and schedule replications from there, so you don't have to go into the ONTAP system. Another feature we've recently started using is the scheduled power off. We started with one client and have been slowly implementing it with others. We can cut costs by not having the VM run all the time. It's only on when it's doing replication, but it powers off after."
"They have very good support team who is very helpful. They will help you with every aspect of getting the deployment done."
"The most valuable feature is its exceptional performance and storage efficiency."
"The performance is fine."
"Norton 360 offers the best defense compared to other low-priced antivirus solutions. Its most valuable feature is storage and automatic backup. You can restore materials from the tool's cloud backup. It is encrypted with authentication."
"It offers diverse features, such as antivirus protection, firewall, identity protection, secure VPN, device backup, password management, parental controls, and performance optimization."
"The solution has good performance."
"It efficiently scans for threats without causing disruptions, unlike some other antivirus software."
"The solution detects viruses very, very fast."
"The product offers all the essential licenses compatible with Windows, Mac OS, and mobile platforms."
"The most valuable feature of Norton 360 has been its robust notification system."

Cons

"The support is good in general but the initial, front-line support could be improved. Because I have already been using the product for so long, when I call support I would rather talk to somebody who is a little bit more advanced or senior, rather than talking to the first-level support. Usually, it takes some time to reach out to their senior support."
"We have used technical support. As long as they don't call me at four o'clock in the morning to tell me that a drive failed and they are sending me another one, I like it. They have a tendency to do that."
"We would like to have support for high availability in multi-regions."
"I would like to see more information about Cloud Volumes ONTAP using Google Cloud Platform on NetApp's website."
"I would like this solution to be brought to all the three major players. Right now it's supported only on AWS and Azure. They should bring it to Google as well, because we would like to have flexibility in choosing the underlying cloud storage provider."
"The data tiering needs improvement. E.g., moving hard data to faster disks."
"Cloud Volumes ONTAP's interface could use an overhaul. Sometimes you have to dig around in Cloud Manager a little bit to find certain things. The layout could be more intuitive."
"The cost needs improvement."
"Norton 360’s features for device optimization could be better."
"The integration with Android devices needs enhancement."
"I would like to see Norton 360 improve the speed of its cloud backup."
"The product should be improved with more storage. Though included in its price, the tool's auto VPN doesn't work at times."
"The tool should be easily available in the market and should be cheaper."
"There's a need for enhanced security measures."
"One area where Norton 360 could improve is the constant push for upselling."
"The tool's price is an area of concern where improvements are required."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"In addition to the standard licensing fees, there are fees for Azure, the VMs themselves and for data transfer."
"Purchasing through the AWS Marketplace was good, but it was a test system, not a real purchase."
"They give us a good price for CVO licenses. It is one of the reasons that we went with the product."
"If we wanted to use the AWS solution, we would have to manage two or three different platforms and pay more money than what we should have to pay, as some of the features don't even exist. If we wanted to, we could use AWS cloning, but it is useless because it uses more space, is more expensive, and takes more time."
"The AWS consumer-based pricing model makes it easy for developers to use their credit cards to spin up virtual servers immediately."
"Overall, the pricing of NetApp is aggressive and the pricing becomes more aggressive as the amount of data increases. The cost for a given volume of data that you are storing becomes lower. The greater the volume of data, the cheaper the license."
"Some flexibility around the licensing model would help. The product is licensed based on capacity. Basically, the largest capacity license that you can buy is 368 terabytes. At this point, NetApp is addressing some people's concerns around this."
"Make sure you investigate what your requirements are going to cost you using the native cloud solutions versus what NetApp is going to cost you, to make sure you have a business case to go with NetApp."
"It is an inexpensive product. We purchase its yearly license."
"The solution is cost-effective."
"On a scale of one to ten, if ten is the most expensive and one is the cheapest, I rate the price as nine."
"The price is fairly acceptable."
"During procurement, we discovered that acquiring licenses in packages or bundles, such as the one for 20 users, was more cost-effective than individual licenses."
"The tool has a yearly licensing."
