Enhanced product search for effective order management challenges and satisfactory support
Previously, the main purpose was for e-commerce. They implemented features like placing orders and searching orders. They used Oracle Endeca extensively for searching the products, and Oracle ATG for creating a user interface where customers could place orders Previously, it used to serve the…

Platform has supported global rollouts and has delivered faster, more reliable commerce journeys
In my view, SAP Commerce Cloud can be improved as it currently feels too heavy, with customers nowadays expecting solutions to be deployed in months rather than years. This is the most significant issue with SAP Commerce Cloud, which caters primarily to Fortune 500 companies and falls short for mid-sized businesses. I do not have a clear idea on which specific feature they should implement to better serve the smaller business market, despite their several past attempts. Regarding potential improvements for SAP Commerce Cloud, I am not the best person to discuss deployments as I lack a DevOps background. However, I believe the primary enhancement should be in their vision and communication of product benefits. Personally, I have found SAP salespeople to be less friendly compared to their Salesforce counterparts. Their inflexibility regarding discounts and offers might be an area for improvement.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The variety of options available, like customization for quotes or any sale module I require, is available in Oracle Compass Cloud for customers, and it has increased our sales."
"Oracle Commerce Cloud has improved our organization because it provides us with a lot of options, and we only have to do some configuration or customization, as it gives lots of features for sales."
"The most valuable features of Oracle Commerce Cloud are it provides all sorts of administrative essentials for our commerce. It helps deliver products from production from the supplier to the customer."
"The search had extended functionality, allowing searches with product code, subcategories, barcode, partial descriptions, etc."
"Overall, a request time of two to three months is a very efficient time for creating the E-Commerce session to go live."
"All products reside in SAP and all other systems access and update their products and prices in one place, which reduces redundancy."
"We work on B2B projects, and it is the most efficient software solution for B2B."
"SAP Hybris Commerce is a very advanced e-commerce platform compared to other platforms such as WebSphere Commerce, Oracle Commerce, and others."
"With the click of few buttons with your mobile device or with your notebook or laptop you can purchase the products at your home."
"The tool supports multiple currencies."
"Its dashboards, business features, and user-friendliness of a lot of business interfaces are valuable. We work on B2B projects, and it is the most efficient software solution for B2B. The B2B accelerator is very much appreciated by our customers because it has some use cases that are ready for production. For some projects, we proposed the SAP Hybris solution because it was sufficient for use cases related to product management and data quality. With other e-commerce platforms, we would have needed integration with another product information management software."
"The user interface can be customized."

Cons

"There are times we have some errors or failures in Oracle Commerce Cloud that could be improved."
"Oracle Commerce Cloud could improve the accessibility features."
"Some accessibility improvements would be beneficial in their components."
"ATG is not evolving much, and there's a huge license cost."
"SAP Hybris does not employ the latest technologies. For example, they still use GSP, Tag Files, an older version of Java, no microservices, and no Amazon Web Services."
"In my view, SAP Commerce Cloud can be improved as it currently feels too heavy, with customers nowadays expecting solutions to be deployed in months rather than years."
"Hybris is not currently using microservices."
"It is very expensive to implement, which is why many companies who can't afford would normally move to Salesforce or Magento."
"SAP Commerce needs to have a credit limit like Salesforce. Currently, we have to do the coding and customization and then showcase it to the user."
"Like every other SAP solution, it is very heavy."
"In terms of what could be improved, I would say the product search. There will be multiple criteria to search products and there will be a number of products in different categories. The question is how soon can I find the product which I'm looking for. The search can be improved."
"The learning curve is high."
