In my view, SAP Commerce Cloud can be improved as it currently feels too heavy, with customers nowadays expecting solutions to be deployed in months rather than years. This is the most significant issue with SAP Commerce Cloud, which caters primarily to Fortune 500 companies and falls short for mid-sized businesses. I do not have a clear idea on which specific feature they should implement to better serve the smaller business market, despite their several past attempts. Regarding potential improvements for SAP Commerce Cloud, I am not the best person to discuss deployments as I lack a DevOps background. However, I believe the primary enhancement should be in their vision and communication of product benefits. Personally, I have found SAP salespeople to be less friendly compared to their Salesforce counterparts. Their inflexibility regarding discounts and offers might be an area for improvement.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The search had extended functionality, allowing searches with product code, subcategories, barcode, partial descriptions, etc."
"Oracle Commerce Cloud has improved our organization because it provides us with a lot of options, and we only have to do some configuration or customization, as it gives lots of features for sales."
"The variety of options available, like customization for quotes or any sale module I require, is available in Oracle Compass Cloud for customers, and it has increased our sales."
"The most valuable features of Oracle Commerce Cloud are it provides all sorts of administrative essentials for our commerce. It helps deliver products from production from the supplier to the customer."
"Through the ability to consolidate disparate knowledge repositories either through synchronous asynchronous, API batch, synchronization or other custom methods, I can disseminate as much or as little data through the widest variety of channels."
"We have found the B2B, B2C and D2C very valuable."
"We work on B2B projects, and it is the most efficient software solution for B2B."
"Its dashboards, business features, and user-friendliness of a lot of business interfaces are valuable. We work on B2B projects, and it is the most efficient software solution for B2B. The B2B accelerator is very much appreciated by our customers because it has some use cases that are ready for production. For some projects, we proposed the SAP Hybris solution because it was sufficient for use cases related to product management and data quality. With other e-commerce platforms, we would have needed integration with another product information management software."
"We like that this solution gives our B2B clients a lot of functionality straight 'out of the box', meaning that they don't need to carry out a lot of configuration to be able to use it."
"I chose this out-of-box E-Commerce solution because it helps you start up your E-Commerce business in a very good amount of time since Hybris already provides you the end-to-end flow with minimum customization. You can quickly go live with the customer."
"In SAP Commerce Cloud, I find the integration and the back-end part most valuable because they can be easily integrated with the SAP product catalog and CRM and so on."
"It's a good product in terms of scalability, functionality, and flexibility."

Cons

"Oracle Commerce Cloud could improve the accessibility features."
"Some accessibility improvements would be beneficial in their components."
"There are times we have some errors or failures in Oracle Commerce Cloud that could be improved."
"ATG is not evolving much, and there's a huge license cost."
"Like every other SAP solution, it is very heavy. Also, the transition to the cloud is not very smooth because it is not really a SaaS solution. The upgrades are also not as smooth as you would expect from a complete cloud solution. It should have a product recommendation feature as well as a promotional feature. It should also have more personalizations."
"Like every other SAP solution, it is very heavy."
"The stack needs to be improved; they need to start using more new technologies."
"Tighter integration with SAP (more OOTB tools for integration)."
"They need to use microservices to make it more scalable, but it's acceptable for now."
"The main issue for improvement with SAP Commerce Cloud is the UX/UI and the fact that it's difficult to change it because of technical constraints, which makes it insufficient as it currently exists."
"The product should be accessible to all types of customer, not just the big ones."
"SAP Commerce needs to have a credit limit like Salesforce. Currently, we have to do the coding and customization and then showcase it to the user."
