Brings reporting, planning, and prediction together in one seamless workflow
I think the areas of SAP Analytics Cloud that could be improved or enhanced are mentioned by users or companies, and they would definitely mention the price in terms of planning licensing. From a consulting point of view, I don't see any major weaknesses. It is reasonably well-developed, and the perfect strength is that innovations are coming on a quarterly basis. It is slightly behind other tools in terms of the number of graphical outputs. Some tools have it faster, but every increment of innovations contains new features. On the other hand, it is perfectly fitting to the SAP environment, with seamless integration to all SAP modules, not only ERP but also SuccessFactors and other tools from the SAP family, for example, integrated business planning for the production planning. This is really a highlight compared to other tools.

Provides superior integration capabilities and ability to handle complex data transformations
One area for improvement in the solution is the ability to manually update individual rows or columns of data once it has been uploaded. Any correction requires reloading the entire dataset from the source, which can be inefficient. They should include a feature for granular data updates, allowing users to edit specific entries without reloading entire datasets.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The financial reports are very easy to read at the end of the month, you can see your profits, and the reporting tools and graphs versus sending a report in Excel are great."
"Technical support is helpful."
"The best features SAP Business Data Cloud offers is basically one solution for all analytics and planning applications, and the integration of all the third-party as well as SAP data sources in one platform allows us to deliver machine learning, analytics, and planning, making the decision-making process very easy with one platform."
"The platform's main benefit is its integration with SAP ERP data. It’s effective for data integration and integrity."
"The product is stable, there are no bugs or glitches, it doesn't crash or freeze, and it's reliable."
"I like the connectivity the solution provides with other products."
"SAP Business Data Cloud has positively impacted my organization by ensuring that there are multiple projects which are still on BW, so there will be very little downtime for them to use or to still keep reporting the existing data from BW."
"The visualizations have been the most valuable feature."
"Feature-wise, I feel that the solution's stability is good."
"I really like the flexibility the solution provides in terms of data transformation."
"The product is easier to use compared to other applications."
"The customer service and support are pretty good."
"The solution is stable and reliable, with minimal issues affecting its performance."

Cons

"The predictive analytics functions, although promising, are currently only suitable for Proof of Concepts (POCs) and not for industrial-scale use."
"The main area that needs improvement is visualization."
"If SAP Business Data Cloud could elaborate on some areas in the future, I could say insights are currently the default, representing your data into pie charts and chart patterns."
"They need a better scalability rate."
"SAP Business Data Cloud needs to be more reasonable in terms of costing."
"I would like to see reporting to the Analytics cloud directly. As it is now, we can integrate text reports in Analytics Cloud, but every time we create a model then we have to design the reports."
"When it comes to planning there is a concern about the ability to match the exact requirements of the customer with what the product offers."
"What I dislike about SAP Business Data Cloud is that the way they position the data products is a little confusing for users because it is fundamentally different whether you're using data products that SAP delivers."
"There is not much flexibility in how we can add external data within Workday Prisma Analytics."
"The visualization techniques must be upgraded."
"One area for improvement in the solution is the ability to manually update individual rows or columns of data once it has been uploaded."
"It is not a very scalable product."
"When you create certain objects, a lot of the time, the fields are text. They’re not numeric, date, or any other field type"

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product is expensive."
"Its pricing is okay as compared to its competitors."
"Its price is slightly on the higher side."
"It is not the most expensive one. You have to do the cost-of-ownership analysis and take a lot of things into consideration to come up with the conclusion that it is cheaper or not, but its price is reasonable. It provides value for money."
"They are pursuing a highly assertive approach to target businesses of all sizes within the industry."
"This solution offers value for money and you get what you pay for."
"It's not that costly as such for the time being."
"The price is competitive. There is a power user license and normal user license, but the normal user license is reasonable."
"The solution is very expensive."
"Based on whatever I have heard, Workday Prism Analytics is considered an expensive tool."
"I do not know of the licensing cost, but there are additional costs like 5,00,000 for recruitment modules."
