Workday Prism Analytics Reviews

As a consultant, I use Prism Analytics to implement my client systems. I first have design sessions with them, where we discuss their business gaps and then understand how Workday Prism Analytics can bridge those gaps. Then, my main responsibility is to complete the technical implementation and train the client once the design part has been done.

I really like the flexibility the solution provides in terms of data transformation. Workday introduced Prism Analytics mainly because many clients wanted to merge data from different systems and then work with it to get some insights out of it. For that, they previously used tools like Power BI. Workday Prism Analytics gives you the power to do all the data transformations within Workday itself without taking out crucial data to a third system.

I really like the way Workday has enabled Prism Analytics to be that one solution where you can bring everything. It also provides you the flexibility that things like the security model of Workday are still in place. You don't have to redo your security configuration if you do the data transformation outside Workday.

It’s a variety of use cases. It’s really just any kind of custom reporting that’s not able to be achieved natively within Workday.

It’s very easy to use. However, Workday in itself is a kind of protected ecosystem. You can’t implement Workday unless you have a certification from Workday. And to get a certification from Workday, you need to be at an implementation partner. So not anybody can just implement it because of Workday’s guardrails.

We use it as an HR system and as a recruitment system. But we don't use it for anything else. We don't use it for our workforce planning. Just the For HR, and recruitment. I primarily use the solution for data analytics. So I could have managed to get used to the business processes and extract data from warehouse reporting. I find that the word they're reporting isn't great. So what I do is I take extracts daily and staff data in a data warehouse and then give Tableau to analyze.

Feature-wise, I feel that the solution's stability is good.

Our use cases for the product include generating KPI reports, handling student project scores, and creating cost-related reports for an automobile company. It handles data that isn't readily available in Workday, integrating data from various sources like SAP to create comprehensive datasets for analytical purposes.

The platform has significantly enhanced our ability to consolidate and analyze data from multiple sources. It has streamlined our reporting processes and enabled us to produce detailed dashboards and reports previously challenging to generate with Workday alone.

Prism Analytics is a data visualization tool similar to Tableau and Power BI. It is used in Workday to fill in data. We get raw data from the client. We use the tool to clean the data and publish it. The product is easier to use compared to other applications. A beginner can learn the tool easily.
