Integrated employee data has improved HR coordination but reporting and interface still need work
The GUI of SAP SuccessFactors Learning is still not very good. The drop-downs are too limited. One thing I want to have is an advisory banner with highlighted font that employees can visibly see during login, but support indicated this cannot be done. I have already raised this request to the support team, and they mentioned that the same request has come from other companies.

The look and feel is not good. Totara Learn needs to improve its look and feel and make it easier to use and more user-friendly. The interface is okay, but sometimes it's messy. Totara needs to improve the UI part as well and make it easier to use for the admin side. AI capabilities are in beta phase. I think they have implemented some AI features in the model, but right now, I'm not aware of what AI features have been implemented. So, Totara also needs to implement some AI things in the model, like suggesting courses according to users' needs or interests.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The best feature of SAP SuccessFactors Learning for me is the assignment profile. It's a rather specific feature, but this is what comes to mind."
"One valuable aspect of SAP SuccessFactors Learning is its stability and established customer base, particularly evident in modules like Employee Central."
"The interface is really friendly, and the training embedded in it is very easy to use, explore, and search. The catalog is pretty strong."
"Proven track record as the Vendor and SI spend hundreds of hours developing, testing, and researching the system (this results in fewer bugs, threats, and a more functional system)."
"The platform now offers an improved user interface with options like custom cards and banners that enhance the user experience."
"It is a very stable tool. It is the most stable security application."
"Some valuable features include assigning various courses to employees based on their groups and roles, as well as providing specialized training for new hires."
"SAP SuccessFactors Learning is highly stable and it is used by many companies."
"The tool's deployment is not complex."
"The multi-tenancy features of Totara Learn are the most useful for training efficiency."

Cons

"We encounter challenges when connecting with external systems and moving from one platform to another within SAP."
"The product must make the integrations more seamless."
"The solution should have a more user-friendly dashboard because its current dashboard is not so great."
"One area I would like to improve in SAP SuccessFactors Learning is the overall user experience and product feedback loop."
"Support needs improvement."
"What needs improvement in SAP SuccessFactors Learning is the user interface. The user management and the integration of the whole suite could also be improved. The solution also needs to be modernized because at the moment, it's a little bit outdated. It's old-fashioned, and though it has a data import feature, that's just plain outdated. SAP SuccessFactors Learning doesn't have any cutting-edge features."
"The only drawback of the tool is that it is dependent on its database."
"Some features of SAP SuccessFactors Learning that require improvement include reporting tools and dashboarding, which are not so good, and integration is really difficult."
"The challenge was understanding the entire solution, particularly its capabilities for managing training within a distributed organization. As part of a group of companies, some with training hubs and others working differently, the need for different tenants arose. This helps organize the training offerings centrally, addressing the challenge of a multi-tenant solution, which wasn't fully grasped initially."
"Totara Learn needs to improve the look and feel, and make it easier to use, more user-friendly."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"A company is required to pay annual licensing fees."
"The tool is cheap."
"The price of SAP SuccessFactors Learning could be better, it is expensive. There is an annual subscription. It's overpriced for small enterprises."
"SAP SuccessFactors Learning is an on-premise solution, there is a one-time fee, which will be given by a company during the implementation. Additionally, there are support fees, which are annual."
"You need to procure licensing and it is expensive."
"The tool's licensing model is very straightforward...You will get the relevant mail from SAP, and accordingly, you have to proceed with the provisioning enablement, after which you can start the configuration."
"The solution is really cheap."
"The additional costs in the solution are based on usage and in regard to the functionalities or services leveraged."
"It's not expensive. It's user-based."
