Overall, I would rate the solution a four out of ten. For UTM, I will not suggest Seqrite. But for EPS and antivirus, it is good. Cost-wise also and some features. The features wise also, it is good. And support is also good. We can get support on WhatsApp. So support-wise, it is also good.

As for areas where Sophos Cyberoam UTM can be improved, it's hard to say; I have not at the moment seen anything that I could not get a solution for, but if there's anything, I'll make sure to raise that with the Sophos team. Regarding the documentation, I find that it is still lacking, although the YouTube videos, user training, and knowledge forum are now better than they were before. Sophos Cyberoam UTM should move in the direction of AI capabilities, as the world is moving toward AI. Sophos Cyberoam UTM is not promoted enough. I see FortiGates organizing student competitions and Cisco doing CCNA classes, so Sophos should follow that route as well.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It has an MDM solution."
"I find Sophos Cyberoam UTM very good. I like the feature of being able to block off Mac IDs that host users. For example, you have a Mac or Windows laptop and you created a hotspot. Other devices like mobiles and tablets e.g. iPads connected to that hotspot. We can block those devices that connected to the hotspot we created, only through Sophos. It's a good feature we didn't find in other UTMs."
"In a different continent, a different company, and as a customer (not a distributor) I still used the same brand, Cyberoam!"
"The tool's robust features allow for the customization of policies, objects, and firewall settings."
"The reporting features are very good."
"The solution works perfectly without any users."
"The most valuable feature of this product is the threat protection."
"We have never had to restart a firewall. The firewalls have all worked perfectly fine."
"The security capabilities are okay."

Cons

"This solution is not accurate. Sometimes, the switches got hung. So sometimes, whatever policies we have deployed were not working properly."
"The product strategy of the manufacturer is strange. I don't understand what they are doing in that regard."
"The following could be improved: Web Filtering using wildcards; clarity regarding the firewall rules; granular reporting features."
"I had an issue when I was trying to stop a user from using too much bandwidth while I was using Azure, I was not able to stop them."
"The Web Filter and Application Filter need improvement. In the Web Filter, there is a problem to block YouTube by HTTPS, so this needs to improve."
"We use different workarounds and find different solutions for it, depending on the client's needs. We shouldn't have to, we should just be able to use the product as it comes with Cyberoam, rather than having to revert to other products."
"In summary, I don't think that Sophos Cyberoam UTM is a friendly product to work with, and I would recommend the solution by Fortinet instead."
"As an IT manager, I don't get the complete report of what users are doing, so it would be great to have that also."
"I face issues when connecting to the VPN since it requires an authenticator. It would be beneficial if phone calls or SMS for two-factor authentication were available."

"It is more expensive than cheap routers, but it offers a lot of functionality, and that warrants the price."
"I rate the solution's pricing a five out of ten, where one is cheap, and ten is high."

"It is very reasonably priced as compared to other solutions in the market."
