Discontinuation of Hardware and limited firewalling capabilities
Overall, I would rate the solution a four out of ten. For UTM, I will not suggest Seqrite. But for EPS and antivirus, it is good. Cost-wise also and some features. The features wise also, it is good. And support is also good. We can get support on WhatsApp. So support-wise, it is also good.

Reliable security features have effectively protected against breaches and promote scalable network management
The methodology of the rule sets is perhaps one of the plus points. I think everybody else does it, but the way the rule sets are configured makes it an easily understandable way to manage. One of my presentations demonstrates appropriate and affordable, comprehensive threat protection with centralized management and improved network security. This describes how firewall and VPN functionalities of this product benefit my organization. Protection and identity based security are probably the major selling points, with logging and centralized management. It allows you to identify issues first, and the reporting facilities are there and can be automated. You've got automated reporting that you can set appropriate levels of reporting to management and to the operational team, so they are alerted to what's going on. This describes how Sophos Cyberoam UTM's reporting capability helps in managing our network effectively.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It has an MDM solution."
"Web application filtering eases internet access control."
"The best feature is the flexibility the product offers, in terms of remote access. What we had before was a decentralized mechanism in our organization, but after having this product we were able to get the remote locations into the same LAN. We were able to control the bandwidth and were able to take virtual access of those machines and give them the support, as and when required."
"We are using it as a security shield. It does not allow access before that in case we have restricted a few things from users, so it helps me in that."
"It has been working fine. You just turn it on, and it works."
"The features that I find most valuable in Sophos Cyberoam UTM is the RED, the Sophos RED, which is the SD-WAN, a very welcome feature that has made us fully transition out of the paid MPLS to SD-WANs."
"I'm more inclined towards the conventional firewall. So for me, I'm more geared towards the standard firewall type functionalities as well as the web application firewall because that seems to work fine."
"The VPN is the most usable feature."
"The product has helped control bandwidth utilization, as well as enhanced connectivity and security to remote locations."

Cons

"This solution is not accurate. Sometimes, the switches got hung. So sometimes, whatever policies we have deployed were not working properly."
"The solution is at its end of life and some of the appliances are finishing."
"Smaller CR15 units don’t have a hard disc or built in IView software. These units could do with that feature."
"The solution had a feature to import users from a CSV file. However, the latest version does not have that option."
"Cyberoam UTM needs to have more certifications with third-parties, such as NSS Labs."
"Sophos Cyberoam UTM could improve by adding VPN site-to-site capabilities. The correct version does not work with Microsoft Azure Cloud."
"It is not a scalable product. This is because if you want to increase the capacity of the solution, then you have to change the device."
"Regarding the documentation, I find that it is still lacking, although the YouTube videos, user training, and knowledge forum are now better than they were before."
"While the security features are excellent, they could be improved."

"This is a cost-effective solution compared to other vendors, such as Cisco."
"We just use the standard package."
