Offers some features but needs better customization and analysis tools
There are solutions that can perform better, but due to pricing for our corporate implementation, we had to stay with this solution. It accomplishes the necessary tasks, but there is room for improvement. The features are not as customizable as we would prefer, but they are workable. If configured properly, you can perform a drill-down analysis. However, I have not used this feature much for our infrastructure on the network side.

Helps reduce response time but has room to improve customization complexity
We are not working on simple standalone solutions like Kaspersky DDoS Protection or Hybrid Cloud Security. Once you understand Zabbix, then it is easy to customize those web pages and graphs for our customer use. It is fully automated to your requirements. Zabbix is working fine with no issues, and I am satisfied with it. We have combined Zabbix and SolarWinds. The integration works fine, and it is easy to integrate Zabbix with the IT environment. We were trying to purchase MDR (Managed Detection and Response), but we are not working on that. I don't have real experience with MDR. We are using Falcon software for that. We are working with Falcon Complete, not with Sandbox. We are not using Kaspersky for business or cloud protection. For that, we are using Zabbix CrowdStrike Falcon Complete solution. I have given this review an overall rating of 8.

Pros

"The most valuable feature of SolarWinds Network Device Monitor is it shows you the utilization of devices to allow you to take proactive action before something goes down or reaches the saturation point. You can take proactive action to fix the problem before it occurs."
"We are doing more with SolarWinds Network Device Monitor than we were doing in the past with WhatsApp Gold; when we moved to SolarWinds Network Device Monitor, the whole observability part started to grow."
"The alerting functionality in SolarWinds Network Device Monitor helps us stay informed during off-hours by sending alerts if our main links or devices are impacted, allowing us to quickly address any issues."
"This product has been quite stable and we are very likely to continue using it in the future."
"The Network Device Monitor itself is very useful."
"The deployment process is quick."
"The product is useful for switches and IP phones."
"SolarWinds is flexible and works with multiple vendor devices."
"The flexible licensing model is one of the solution's most valuable aspects, as it really allows for great flexibility for companies."
"The most valuable function for me is the auto-discovery of interfaces in devices. When you integrate devices into the tool, it automatically finds the interfaces, which is very helpful for my job. Integration and configuration run smoothly in my experience with Juniper and Aruba devices."
"The most valuable feature is the alert and alarm monitoring."
"There are lots of great features and functionality within the solution."
"Through this approach, and given the level of details, we get friendly dashboards in the output, and at the same time a simple problem of localization tool."
"Zabbix is a cost-effective solution. We're a small organization with a few dozen devices to monitor, and it was available for free. We can see what we need. We haven't done an in-depth analysis on it, but we're currently okay with the product."
"We are using this solution for monitoring our internal network and infrastructure in the company, and also for monitoring a couple of our customers' installations, not only their network but also their services, and to reduce consumption."
"Zabbix allows us to monitor a lot of hardware equipment without any additional cost."

Cons

"The security could always be improved."
"It would be beneficial if SolarWinds Network Device Monitor could provide a feature to monitor CRC errors specifically on individual interfaces rather than the entire device. This would help in detecting intermittent issues and packet drops on main links more accurately, especially when there are CRC errors. It's important for us to be aware of these issues to avoid any voice quality problems or interruptions on our MTS links."
"In terms of price, it could be less expensive."
"The solution lacks in performance monitoring."

"In terms of price, it could be less expensive."
"There is no mobile version of this product, and our team should be able to access it using a mobile device."
"The solution is not user-friendly."
"For our company, it is not scalable."
"I am not giving them a higher rating because they don't have analytics."
"The documentation gets a bit messy between versions and is not too detailed, which is a bit painful for first-timers, especially when they run into issues."
"I had problems using Zabbix when working with SUSE Enterprise; many companies use SUSE."
"If Zabbix had a better dashboard then it would be nice."
"We would like to monitor other touchpoints such as ATM machines. It would be great if it can provide monitoring of ATM machines. Compatibility with other products would also be great."
"It should be easy to modify the front end."
"The user interface could be a bit better. They could update it a bit."
