Helps reduce response time but has room to improve customization complexity
We are not working on simple standalone solutions like Kaspersky DDoS Protection or Hybrid Cloud Security. Once you understand Zabbix, then it is easy to customize those web pages and graphs for our customer use. It is fully automated to your requirements. Zabbix is working fine with no issues, and I am satisfied with it. We have combined Zabbix and SolarWinds. The integration works fine, and it is easy to integrate Zabbix with the IT environment. We were trying to purchase MDR (Managed Detection and Response), but we are not working on that. I don't have real experience with MDR. We are using Falcon software for that. We are working with Falcon Complete, not with Sandbox. We are not using Kaspersky for business or cloud protection. For that, we are using Zabbix CrowdStrike Falcon Complete solution. I have given this review an overall rating of 8.

Generates close to real-time alerts so users can resolve issues, but needs more integration and public cloud monitoring features
As Zenoss Service Dynamics is more for network-centric devices and you want to monitor, for example, a server, its services, IP addresses, and interfaces, if it's a network and you're going to monitor multiple items, you'll be charged multiple times. This is what Zenoss Service Dynamics needs to improve to make sure that customers pay just one fee to monitor the entire server. What I'd like to see in Zenoss Service Dynamics in the future is a public cloud monitoring feature, particularly for the Azure public cloud. Another additional feature I'd like to see in the next release of the solution is integration with the Azure public cloud because I know that there are some services from Azure that Zenoss Service Dynamics is currently unable to monitor.

Pros

"In our opinion Zabbix is an amazing monitoring solution which allows for any service or device to be monitored."
"The product is very stable."
"Zabbix is very flexible and scalable."
"The initial setup was pretty straightforward, we did not face any issues and it was up and running within a day."
"One of the real benefits is the API; you can do anything with an API, it makes life much easier."
"The most valuable feature is network traffic monitoring."
"It's a very reliable platform and we've never had any issues regarding the scalability or the stability of Zabbix."
"We detect problems before the customer does and before it actually happens using the predictive functions in Zabbix."
"It's easy to use."
"What I like most about Zenoss Service Dynamics is that it monitors the devices and gives close to real-time alerts. For example, in case the device is not available, Zenoss Service Dynamics generates an alert so my team can resolve the issue."
"The custom built integration is one of the most valuable features because you can see all the especially critical items."
"Its Docker Container concept is mind blowing. It is the first monitoring tool which comes with Docker features."
"The custom built integration is one of the most valuable features because you can see all the especially critical items."
"What I like most about Zenoss Service Dynamics is that it monitors the devices and gives close to real-time alerts, for example, in case the device is not available, Zenoss Service Dynamics generates an alert so my team can resolve the issue."
"Zenoss is more complex than LogicMonitor, but scalable and hugely customizable."
"With this solution, they can have one million users at the same time with no crashes."

Cons

"There's a small module of APM, however, it is not an enhanced version. People usually ask for a full-fledged APM solution."
"It becomes complex when we are growing and need to add proxies. We need more scalability features and documentation for different use cases."
"The APM monitoring has room for improvement, although I hear that the new 5.2 version has some improvements in that area, and I'd like to give that a go."
"If Zabbix had a better dashboard then it would be nice."
"It hasn't really been that stable, but I think that has a lot to do with the specs. It could be more stable."
"Zabbix is a great tool and fairly easy for a technical person but it could be more friendly for non-technical staff."
"The reports are not great and should be improved."
"I really do not like this solution, almost all of its features are awful."
"There is room for improvement with the administrative part. The administrative part, since they introduced Docker, etc., has become a little complex."
"As Zenoss Service Dynamics is more for network-centric devices and you want to monitor, for example, a server, its services, IP addresses, and interfaces, if it's a network and you're going to monitor multiple items, you'll be charged multiple times. "Technical support is 3/10, poor: Incomplete and poor documentation Undocumented processes Inconsistent solutions to problems depending on source"
"Now it is stable, but they should design threshold parameters in percentage instead of raw values."
"This solution is complex for beginners so it takes some time to learn."
"Now it is stable, but they should design threshold parameters in percentage instead of raw values."
"There was a problem with Zenoss and storage monitoring."
"As Zenoss Service Dynamics is more for network-centric devices and you want to monitor, for example, a server, its services, IP addresses, and interfaces, if it's a network and you're going to monitor multiple items, you'll be charged multiple times."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"This solution is completely open-source, so it is quite affordable."
"If you have 20,000 hosts, the support costs around €95,000 for a year."
"For pricing, it's free. We don't pay anything for it. They open-source the code, and people pay for support."
"The tool's licensing is good."
"I was using the free, Community Edition."
"We purchased Zabbix for a good price, including support"
"We were searching for an open source solution and Zabbix fit the bill because it is free and open source under the GPL license."
"We’re using the free version, which covers all our current needs."
"It is very cost-effective compared to the tools I worked with in the past. The company is gaining a lot with respect to the cost factor. It provides agentless monitoring and in a very cheap way."
"The pricing depends on the environment, the number of services, and the size of the data center. It can go from $100,000 to a million dollars."
"It depends on the customer, what he wants."
"There are additional costs you'll have to pay apart from the license fee for Zenoss Service Dynamics. I can't remember exactly how much my company is paying because I don't handle the finance part, but the cost is paid annually. On a scale of one to five, with one being the cheapest and five being the most expensive, I'm rating the solution three out of five."
