Effective threat prevention with responsive customer support
We are using Fortinet FortiGate as a firewall Fortinet FortiGate has been invaluable. It has helped save costs due to its various features, reliable performance, very good UI, low latency, and stability. The Threat Intel engine in Fortinet FortiGate is highly rated for its effectiveness in…

Has good technical support services, but the GUI needs enhancement
The product’s new variant allows for faster processing of data packets from LAN to WAN, surpassing the capabilities of an 8G firewall. It provides threat prevention features, including WAF, IPS, and AV. We have configured SSL VPN capabilities for different branches, which have been working efficiently. For our minimalistic usage, it has been performing well in transferring data from on-premise devices. It helps us generate detailed reports on the dashboard. The product’s integration with Sophos Central enhances security architecture by enabling centralized management under a single dashboard. We recommend Sophos XG as a priority as it is much more reliable and has efficient technical assistance. It is much easier for configuration, web filtering, or web extension than one of its competitors. I rate it a seven out of ten.

It offers us a single point of control, but we've had some problems with performance
We use Zscaler as a secure internet proxy. All of the traffic is filtered through it. We have about 3,000 users at the organization.  All internet traffic goes through Zscaler, which protects the organization's IP, which isn't published publicly. Zscaler's cloud services filter and clear all…

"FortiGate improved our security. It's one of the best hardware firewalls."
"FortiGate firewalls are user-friendly, and I like the security profiling features."
"It is easy to manage, and it doesn't need much knowledge from the team. It is a stable device, and there are many features that are included out of the box."
"FortiGate is flexible and easy to use."
"The most valuable features are the possibility of having one fabric for switching on security."
"The most valuable features of Fortinet FortiGate are the rules and quality of service."
"It has very easy management and an amazing ETM configuration."
"We recommend Sophos XG as a priority as it is much more reliable and has efficient technical assistance."
"The most valuable features of Sophos XG are the ease of management and good out-of-the-box reporting."
"The user interface is very good. It's already quite simple and easy to use."
"The initial setup was straightforward."
"Technical support is responsive."
"The web application firewall reverse proxy is very good."
"The SD-WAN feature stands out as the most valuable aspect."
"I like the functionality and the user interface."
"For our needs, the cloud-native proxy architecture is a very good solution. We are moving away from on-prem appliances and moving more toward cloud-based solutions. Zscaler is a good fit for our strategy. This architecture helps with cyber threats because we inspect most of the traffic and we can see that a lot of threats are stopped directly in the secure web gateway."
"Stability-wise, I rate the solution a nine and a half out of ten...The setup phase was easy."
"The security is excellent."
"One feature that is valuable to me from an implementation point of view is that it's very easy to implement."
"It is easy to set up the solution."
"The policies are very intuitive and easy to configure, with very little possibility of messing things up."
"SSL inspection is a valuable feature."
"In terms of management and visibility, there is a single panel where you can configure the policies for your entire organisation worldwide."

Cons

"We sometimes have issues with FortiGate's routing table in the latest firmware update. We had to downgrade the device because our customers complained about bugs."
"Fortinet FortiGate is not very easy to use. The navigation could be improved to make it easier to use."
"There are SD-WAN network monitoring, SD-WAN features, Industrial Databases, Internet of Things, Detection, etc., however, we do have not licenses for those features. We thought that if you bought a product, you should have all of the features it offers. Why should you need to make so many extra purchases to enable features? They should have one price for the entire offering."
"The user interface could be improved to make it less confusing and easier to set up."
"Technical support needs to be improved."
"Due to its higher cost, Fortinet FortiGate can lead to increased operational expenses."
"I would prefer to have more detailed logs within the FortiGate products themselves rather than relying on a separate tool."
"The ease of use could be improved."
"There could be some room for improvement in its pricing since my clients usually feel like the product is on the expensive side."
"When it comes to improvements that the vendor can make, we see that the cloud integration for managing all the firewalls is essentially a replacement of the on-prem version we had and is not sufficiently mature."
"They made some changes to the firmware update sometime last year, which moved some of the policies from where they were before. Some of the policies, such as NAS policies, were separated, which made it a bit hard for people to trace the policies they had configured."
"The interface can bit a bit more user-friendly."
"Inability to investigate incidents, there is no tracking."
"The product's technical support services could be better."
"Their tech support is not great."
"Since Sophos took over Cyberoam, the online technical library and support library have become super messy. To get a piece of information is becoming a nightmare. They need to reorganize the online technical support and technical library."
"Do not expect to pay for the service and start using it, like Gmail. Zscaler requires a proper implementation to be done to make it successful."
"Zscaler needs to add client-to-client communication. It's always client-to-server communication. The cloud and branch connectors could be improved because we're still dependent on traditional firewalls. They should eliminate this. They should also provide WAN devices should to compete with the SD-WAN solutions also."
"The tool should improve the predefined dictionaries."
"Sometimes it's not easy to use during large deployments of workstations."
"The solution's technical support needs to be improved, especially by offering a better support structure for different geographical areas."
"Zscaler Internet Access could improve by adding a VPN feature."
"In terms of usage, here in the GCC, it's still growing a growing market, so the combination of DLP, data leak prevention, to a certain extent is fine. But what it requires is user-based access or role-based access. The solution needs to grow into that, which definitely takes time. There's not an easy way to integrate it, when you have a cloud-based solution."
"It needs better integration with other applications. It takes a fair amount of regular activity to apply the by-passes because it is very strict in its restrictions and frequently you have to go in and open things up to allow the workforce to work."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The Indian market is different than the European and American markets. When you compare they need to be a bit more aggressive on pricing."
"Its licenses cost the same for different subscription plans."
"It scales well if you know what to buy from a physical box standpoint. They seem to offer something for every level."
"Fortinet FortiGate is expensive."
"Fortinet Secure SD-WAN delivered the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) per Mbps among all other vendors."
"It is expensive. You need to pay for the subscription every year, which is very expensive. The subscription includes technical support and hardware exchange in case of failure."
"Fortigate's pricing is competitive."
"Fortinet has one or two license types, and the VPN numbers are only limited by the hardware chassis make."
"We bought the three-year license, and there are no additional costs."
"There is a license required to use this solution and my customers pay for it annually."
"The price of the solution is reasonable when comparing it to other solutions."
"Sophos XG is not an expensive solution. If you are willing to pay more, then there is the Check Point firewall which is the best out of all the vendors."
"At first, I thought the price was very high. But when I read about the machine's features, we decided to go with it."
"The price for the firewall is reasonable."
"It is not very expensive."
"The price of Sophos is reasonable. It's not too expensive — I think it's worth it."
"The pricing is an issue. It is expensive compared to other firewalls on the market."
"It is quite expensive. It does its job, but it is quite expensive for what we need."
"Our monthly fee is around R3000."
"The tool is moderately priced."
"We pay around 6,500 INR per user per year, which is very expensive. I would rate Zscaler's pricing one out of five."
"Because it's a cloud solution, we pay on a yearly basis. It is affordable and includes tech support and all features."
"Zscaler is transparent about its pricing model."
"The price of Zscaler Internet Access should improve, it is expensive."
