It's mostly for storage of personal documents, some photos, and emails.
Offers free storage, stability and reliable product
Pros and Cons
- "I like that it is free. It's easy to use, and it's reliable."
- "The Notes application could be better."
What is our primary use case?
How has it helped my organization?
It's purely for personal use.
What is most valuable?
I like that it is free. It's easy to use, and it's reliable.
What needs improvement?
The Notes application could be better. Some of the email portal features can be tricky, but my mom uses it just fine, so it's probably intuitive enough.
And some of the email portal features. My mom sometimes has trouble with them, but she's not very tech-savvy, so that's understandable. The fact that she can use it at all shows that it's pretty user-friendly.

For how long have I used the solution?
I started using Google around 2012. I've been using the cloud version.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I've never had a problem with stability so I would rate the stability a ten out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I have a free business account, and my family uses it as well. It's easy to use, it works, and it is free, and we all have our own domain email addresses. It's absolutely awesome.
I'm good with the free Google account I have. It allows ten users, but I only need four or five, so it's plenty for now.
If we ever need more storage or users, it's easy to upgrade by paying a small monthly fee. It is really simple.
How are customer service and support?
Never needed it. It's always just worked perfectly.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Google Cloud was the first one I signed up for. It's always worked, it's always been free, and I haven't had a reason to look elsewhere. I don't see a need to at this point.
How was the initial setup?
I've been using it for so long; it just always worked. There was no setup; it just worked.
What was our ROI?
I can stay connected with others. I have free email, free storage, free notes, and free Google apps, and I use it in conjunction with the free Linux operating system on my computer.
I don't need to pay for licensing for anything.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I don't pay for the license. For me, it's completely free.
What other advice do I have?
Just try it out. If you like it, stick with it. If not, then look around for something else. But in my experience, if you find something that works, don't overthink it. Just use it.
It's been a great service for my needs. Overall, I would rate the product an eight out of ten because there is room for improvement.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
Google

Software Engineer at a consultancy with self employed
A scalable and affordable solution that is easy to configure and provides helpful features
Pros and Cons
- "Cloud Run is pretty helpful."
- "Google is slower to support .NET."
What is our primary use case?
I use the solution to deploy .NET applications to the cloud. I deploy Web APIs and console applications.
What is most valuable?
Cloud Run is pretty helpful. Pub/Sub is also helpful.
What needs improvement?
The product must provide support for .NET. Microsoft has support for .NET because .NET is a Microsoft product. We ran into an issue when we were waiting for Google to support .NET 6. Google is slower to support .NET. It must cater more to .NET developers.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using the solution for one year.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I rate the tool’s stability a nine out of ten. We rarely had issues. We run our applications on Cloud Run. We had a feature in our software where we had to generate an Excel report, and it limited us to 32 megabytes. We had to work around it.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I rate the tool’s scalability a nine out of ten. Probably 100 users are using the solution in our organization.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We were using Azure before.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is fairly easy. We have a tool called Jenkins to deploy the product. It only takes a few minutes.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The solution is cheaper than Azure.
What other advice do I have?
Google Cloud came late to the game, so it's not used as much as AWS. We can give it a try because it's easy. It’s easy to configure. It gives us another option. Overall, I rate the product a nine out of ten.

Co-Founder and CTO at Stimuler Private Limited
Easy to set up and get started with
Pros and Cons
- "It's a perfect tool for startups."
- "When companies grow at a larger scale, they may shift to a different cloud services provider like AWS or Oracle."
What is our primary use case?
We use Google Cloud to deploy our servers on containerized token servers and store user databases, which mostly consist of 5S data. It is very useful for authentication, as most of our back-end operations are powered by Google.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable feature is the ease of use. Google Cloud has mastered the user interface and user experience so much that it is very convenient. The 5S is the best tool for startups to set up things quickly and powerfully. Apart from that, Google Cloud has a lot of features. We can deploy with really powerful servers, auto-scaling, and all. Yeah. That's it. I tried AWS, but it has too many features. So Google Cloud is simple to use to start with.
What needs improvement?
When the companies grow at a larger scale, I often see them shifting to a different cloud services provider, like Oracle or AWS, because they may have critical features or preferences over Google Cloud. While Google Cloud is expanding, there is still room for improvement in flexibility.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Google Cloud for more than a year now.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I would rate the stability a ten out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
It is very scalable. For starters, it is very scalable, but when we use it for a month, we may have to look for a different setup on Google Cloud. But, yes, it is very scalable.
I would rate the scalability a nine out of ten. We are happy with the scalability.
How are customer service and support?
The customer service is pretty supportive. We are also in the Google Startup Program and they have been very helpful. The support is amazing.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Positive
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is super easy. I would rate it a ten out of ten.
What about the implementation team?
Google Cloud has amazing documentation. It took a few hours to deploy the solution.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Some options might be cheaper for much larger scales, but at the scale, we are operating on, Google has very convenient pricing. I'd rate it a three out of ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive.
What other advice do I have?
I highly recommend using this solution. It's very easy to set up and get started with and is a perfect tool for startups. They have amazing support with their programs as well.
Overall, I would rate it a nine out of ten.

Hosts and allows us to access all of our necessary applications
Pros and Cons
- "The performance is a valuable feature."
- "The price of the license could be cheaper."
What is our primary use case?
We're using this solution to host all of our applications. Currently, we're in the process of migrating all the SAP servers to GCP.
There are about 2,000 people using this solution in our organization.
What is most valuable?
The performance is a valuable feature.
What needs improvement?
The price of the license could be cheaper.
For how long have I used the solution?
We have been using this solution for a few months.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It's stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The scalability is good.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
We pay for a monthly license.
What other advice do I have?
I would rate this solution 8 out of 10.

Has good security and is user friendly and reliable
Pros and Cons
- "Google Cloud is user friendly and reliable. The most valuable feature is the security of Google Cloud."
- "Google Cloud would benefit from more detailed practical hands-on training especially in your mother tongue, not just English."
What is our primary use case?
I use Google Cloud for security purposes when sending files or any important document to others.
What is most valuable?
Google Cloud is user friendly and reliable. The most valuable feature is the security of Google Cloud.
What needs improvement?
Google Cloud would benefit from more detailed practical hands-on training especially in your mother tongue, not just English.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been working with Google Cloud for the past four to five months.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I am satisfied with the stability of Google Cloud.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
It is easy to scale Google Cloud.
How are customer service and support?
To maintain Google Cloud you have to maintain the servers as well. Sending files to a particular person, the server to server connection is mandatory. If a server is down then the file will come written back or stopped there.
How was the initial setup?
Deployment of Google Cloud is straightforward and quick and does not take much time.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Pricing is high compared to other solutions.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
Comparing it to AWS Cloud, I thought Google Cloud has a better structure of cloud computing.
AWS is also a bit tricky. Google Cloud provides many different options on how to do tasks, such as sending a file. I also looked at how Google Cloud will be unstructured and structured to the different kinds of Cloud structures when sent to a particular receiver.
What other advice do I have?
Prior to using Google Cloud, I was unaware of how it exactly worked. They provide you with all the information you need, including how it works, how it is structured, and how the tasks are done.
I have already recommended Google Cloud to others because they will know how their files are transferred, how their security is maintained, and what exactly the servers do in the background.
I would rate Google Cloud an 8 out of 10.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud

User-friendly, overall performs well, and accessible anywhere
Pros and Cons
- "Google Cloud is easy to use and accessible anywhere."
- "Microsoft's solution is more common, Google Cloud could improve by being more compatible with different platforms or entities."
What is our primary use case?
Google Cloud can be used to share files with no need to carry them with you since it is on the cloud. You can access it anywhere if you are traveling or if you have important documents.
What is most valuable?
Google Cloud is easy to use and accessible anywhere.
What needs improvement?
Microsoft's solution is more common, Google Cloud could improve by being more compatible with different platforms or entities.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Google Cloud for a few years.
How are customer service and support?
The solution is straightforward and since I am a professional, there is no need for any support.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I have used Microsoft's solution and they have more users using it than Google Cloud.
How was the initial setup?
Google Cloud has no installation since it is on the cloud.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Google Cloud should be divided into modules so that users can buy which module will satisfy them. The overall price of Google Cloud should be reduced, Microsoft is a little bit cheaper. However, if Google divided the cloud offering it would be better. For example, if someone wants to use only for OneDrive they should be able to purchase the service separately, it would reduce the price. There is a license required to use this solution for enterprises.
There is a free account, which the users can increase the size of the space. Google cloud is used in most Android Mobile device operating systems.
What other advice do I have?
I have always said that Google Cloud is better than Microsoft, but the common solution is Microsoft and with some of the compatibility issues with Google Cloud, we typically choose Microsoft.
I rate Google Cloud a nine out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud

Senior Software Developer Team Lead at Dilowa
Scales easily, simple to set up and offers great pricing
Pros and Cons
- "This is a solution that's so easy to expand when you need it to. It's the best I've ever seen. It's much better than Azure."
- "The management side for the database needs some work. Currently, you do everything from the APP. It would be nice to have an interface where you can go in and maintain data and deal with records and do something online."
What is our primary use case?
We largely use the solution for hosting and for the database it offers.
What is most valuable?
Both the hosting and the database are the most valuable features on this product.
What needs improvement?
The analytics could be improved. I need to be able to give them to the client. It is there, but you have to go to Google Cloud to see it. I want it added as a service so I can add it to the client-side and make it easily sharable with my clients.
The management side for the database needs some work. Currently, you do everything from the app. It would be nice to have an interface where you can go in and maintain data and deal with records and do something online. Also the ability to migrate the database should be a bit easier. You can't just copy a database and make another duplicate. You have to do all that bit manually.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've only been using the solution for a total of three months at this point.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
So far, after three months, I can say it's very stable. I haven't had issues with bugs or glitches. It hasn't crashed at all.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
This is a solution that's so easy to expand when you need to. It's the best I've ever seen. It's much better than Azure.
How are customer service and technical support?
Everything in the few months we've used the solution has been great so we haven't had a need to contact technical support. I can't speak to how they are because I have never directly had to deal with them.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I've used Azure as well. I've used that for a while and now I've moved to Google Cloud. Then, for a client, I'm also going to use AWS.
We switched from Azure because the setup is too complex, and, on the scalability side, you have to set it up yourself and I found it didn't actually work well. You have to constantly monitor your server and then add a new VM. There's a lot more effort required which is unnecessary if you have a solution that cuts the workload down. Google simplifies things on many levels, and it does the scaling for you.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup isn't complex per se. It's simple once you understand it, but it takes some time to figure it out. Once you do, it's very simple afterwards. In our case, it took us two weeks to get everything fully operational.
We don't require any maintenance. We just need to make sure we keep our data clean.
What about the implementation team?
I handled the implementation myself. I didn't require any consultants or integrators to assist me.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The licensing for Google Cloud seems to be quite cheap and they're actually quite reasonable in comparison to Azure, which, as it turns out, is quite expensive. Even though Azure has a data center in South Africa it's still quite costly. There's no scaling, so if you go with the VM, you pay 2500 Rand. When you add another VM, it's another 2500 Rand even though you don't use the whole thing. With Google, you can go up as incrementally as you need to, even if it's just 30 Rand.
With Google, there's no licensing. Everything is included, just been based on the usage.
What other advice do I have?
We're just a customer. We don't have any special connection to the company in any way.
Obviously, with Google, everything is the latest version. Google updates everything for you, so there isn't usually a time when we're on an "old version" of the solution.
We use the solution on a daily basis.
I would recommend Google Cloud. At the moment it's in third place, according to the standards. Right now it's ranked AWS, then Azure, then Google. Even though it's technically third, it's much better to use and it's a much better environment.
I'd rate the solution nine out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
Google

Executive Director at a computer software company with 10,001+ employees
Light, feature-rich, stable and scalable, but it could be more user-friendly
Pros and Cons
- "It is easy to use and has a very familiar interface."
- "I feel that the Google product is incomplete with regard to internal communications. It is an area that needs some improvement."
What is our primary use case?
We use Google Suite of products for enterprise and we build our technology products for warehouse management systems, and transportation management systems.
We use Google Cloud for our enterprise. It is used for pretty much everything from emails to storage and to communicate everything.
What is most valuable?
Google Cloud is very light.
It is easy to use and has a very familiar interface.
I have used Microsoft and I have used Google. I feel equally comfortable with both, but Google is lighter and it's easy to work with on your mobile devices.
Google has a lot of features that are really good. I am happy with the features that Google offers.
What needs improvement?
As far as internal communications, Microsoft is much better because of the way it is structured. I feel more comfortable with Microsoft.
I feel that the Google product is incomplete with regard to internal communications. It is an area that needs some improvement.
The user experience could be better. Microsoft user experience is better.
The compatibility of different devices could be better because it looks different on different devices, It's not the same.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been with the company for seven or eight months and it has been used for a long time before that. They have been using it from the start.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I am satisfied with the stability of Google Cloud.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Google Cloud is very scalable. Many companies use Google Cloud because of its scalability.
We have more than 30,000 users in our organization who are using Google Cloud.
How are customer service and technical support?
I have not had any issues with the technical support in the eight months I have been using Google Cloud.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is easy. It's quite straightforward.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I am not familiar with the pricing, but I would guess that it is probably cheaper than Microsoft Suite. There are a lot of startups that use Google Cloud.
What other advice do I have?
We are a Google house, and we don't use any of the Microsoft products.
Google is fantastic and I think that people should go for it. I would recommend using Google Cloud.
I would rate Google Cloud a seven out of ten.
