What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I rate the solution’s stability ten out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I rate the solution ten out of ten for scalability.

How are customer service and support?

The solution's technical support is awesome. Whenever you have trouble, try to ping the support team online, and you will get immediate support.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I previously used Azure and Amazon, but I found that Google was a more suitable platform for me. Microsoft Azure is more particular and user-friendly when creating VMs and networking components in the cloud.

How was the initial setup?

The solution's initial setup is quite easy. You just log in and start working on the tool.

What was our ROI?

The solution's return on investment depends on the company's requirements, what it is looking for, and what it needs exactly.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The solution has a subscription-based license. Users have to keep paying for the services they subscribe to. Google Drive Enterprise has different payment models.

What other advice do I have?

Google Drive Enterprise gives 15 GB, which is more than enough for personal use cases. Google Drive Enterprise is a cloud-based solution. The solution provides many new integration features. I rate its integration capabilities ten out of ten. I rate the solution's security and management tools ten out of ten.

I would recommend the solution to other users. Regarding interportability and services, Amazon, Google, and Microsoft Azure are the three major service providers in terms of cloud computing. Google is more focused on the open platform, which gives you more flexibility.

Overall, I rate the solution ten out of ten.

Ensures availability and easy retrieval of data but does not provide a seamless experience
Pros and Cons
  • "Google Drive provides a guarantee that I can retrieve my data anytime."
  • "The product does not support certain formats."

What is our primary use case?

I use the solution for my backups. It is integrated into my local system. I use the tool predominantly to back up my photos.

What is most valuable?

The product ensures availability. If I have to take a backup on a hard disk, it is at risk of getting corrupted. Google Drive provides a guarantee that I can retrieve my data anytime.

What needs improvement?

The product does not support certain formats. My photographs are HEIC files. I tried uploading it, but it did not work. I don't get the required quality when I upload and download the photographs. The product does not provide a seamless experience. It is not integrated well compared to iOS.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the solution for the last five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I rate the tool’s stability a six or seven out of ten. It does not support some formats.

How was the initial setup?

The setup is okay. The product is cloud-based.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I pay a monthly subscription for the product. The tool is a bit expensive.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We use Amazon S3 for projects and tasks. We have a tie-up with Microsoft. So, for our corporate needs, we use OneDrive. I also use the ecosystem available on my iPhone. I chose Google Drive due to its cost.

What other advice do I have?

The vendor does not propagate the savings to the end users. We must use the storage solution that is provided by the platform we use. If not, we will face challenges with interoperability and seamlessness between the devices. Overall, I rate the solution a seven out of ten.

Enables easy storage, access, and retrieval of data and allows users to store data for a long period
Pros and Cons
  • "I can easily access my data and see my videos on Google Drive."
  • "The tool must provide more storage capacity."

What is our primary use case?

I use the solution to store some critical training documents.

What is most valuable?

I can store and share documents. If someone wants my training videos, I share them using Google Drive. I can easily access my data and see my videos on Google Drive.

What needs improvement?

The tool must provide more storage capacity. Nowadays, 15 GB is not enough. Some people create another account to use more storage. However, it would be helpful if the vendor increased the storage for individual accounts.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the solution for quite some time.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability is good.

How was the initial setup?

The deployment is straightforward. It is a cloud-based product.

What was our ROI?

We can store the data forever. We can retrieve it whenever we want. Google Drive is a good place to store data.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I use the free version.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I also use Amazon S3. Google is open-sourced. I do not know how secure Google is. Amazon S3 is secure. Some people use Google as their official email ID and storage solution.

What other advice do I have?

The tool moved from the email attachment to the Google Drive attachment. Everything goes via Google Drive. My organization has blocked our access to Google Drive. I use it on my laptop. I give training to people. I have a knowledge base. I store it on Google Drive. I will recommend the solution to others. People might not pay for the product unless it is needed for official purposes.

Overall, I rate the tool an eight out of ten.

Convenient to share, document and collaborate with others but it could enhance look and feel of the folders
Pros and Cons
  • "It's very convenient for me. I used to work in a corporate setting with shared servers and workspaces."
  • "If somebody has made changes, for example, there should be a timestamp. Also, if two or three people are working and someone deletes something, a mechanism to retrieve the previous version should be available."

What is our primary use case?

I use it for my daily activities. I'm an entrepreneur, so I use it to document my work and collaborate with others. I'm running a small setup, so we don't have a server or file-sharing service. I use Google Drive for file sharing, documentation, and collaborative work.

How has it helped my organization?

File sharing and shared workspaces are good features.

What is most valuable?

It's very convenient for me. I used to work in a corporate setting with shared servers and workspaces. For small setups like mine, it's very easy to use. Even some of my customers use G Suite for their work.

What needs improvement?

In terms of sharing, maybe a few more options would be great. Now, there are options like "read-only," but maybe having something like a timestamp would be helpful. There could be some more elaborate options.

If somebody has made changes, for example, there should be a timestamp. Also, if two or three people are working and someone deletes something, a mechanism to retrieve the previous version should be available.

Sometimes, I feel that the Google Workspace doesn't have all the same shortcut keys compared to my desktop Excel. For example, file format options like copy-pasting formats don't work the same way. But if there were a similar shortcut for Google Docs, it would be easier to use.

In future releases, if there were more color options for folders, that would be good. It could enhance the look and feel. Also, maybe there could be more elaborate options for file-sharing permissions, like a timestamp.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using it for a long time.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I haven't faced any downtime issues. I would rate the stability a ten out of ten.

How are customer service and support?

I didn't ask for any support, but my client, who is using G Suite, did. We approached them for support, and it was good. There was downtime for G Suite once in a year or two, and it happened globally. But we trust that Google will fix it sooner or later.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

For my regular personal activities or my job, I'm using Microsoft documents. But I've been using Google Docs extensively the last few months because I have to collaborate with my teammates. It's very convenient for me.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is very easy. Google is not complex, and it's very easy to use. That's the reason we are still using it.

What was our ROI?

It is valuable for me because my personal email, my personal data, everything is in Google. It is the most commonly used email platform for personal use. Within my circle, as a parent, my kids also use Google.

For parental control, Google Drive should have more options. I also use it to some extent for parental control, like for browser usage. It can be more advanced.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I pay for the additional storage. Otherwise, it's free as a basic plan, 15 GB. When my storage is beyond that limit, I pay for it. Otherwise, it's completely free.

What other advice do I have?

It is convenient for me, and based on my experience, it is perfect.

Overall, I would rate it a seven out of ten. Google Drive can provide a walk-through about the capabilities, that will be good. I know there are many YouTube videos, and everything is available, but a basic walk-through might be good.

I am always concerned about retrieving lost data, especially when collaborating.

Useful to share files and offers good space and availability
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable features of the solution are space and availability."
  • "I believe that the product's stability has certain areas of concern."

What is our primary use case?

I use the solution in my company just to share files or for archiving purposes. The tool is useful to have some files shared with colleagues.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable features of the solution are space and availability.

What needs improvement?

I believe that the product's stability has certain areas of concern. From an improvement perspective, the tool's stability needs to be made better.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Google Drive Enterprise for a few years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Stability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.

How are customer service and support?

I haven't had the opportunity to get support from Google for any specific project in my company. With Google's ability to collaborate, things were not that bad. The technical support has been responsive, fast and knowledgeable.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have experience with OneDrive and ShareFile. I chose Google Drive Enterprise owing to the ease of use it offers. I had an account on Gmail and could use Google's services in the space that it provides.

How was the initial setup?

The product's initial setup phase was straightforward.

I did not deploy the product in my company. I am only a user of the product.

The solution is deployed on the cloud.

What was our ROI?

It is difficult to speak about the return on investment associated with the product, but I would definitely say that the ROI might be high since I get to use the free version of the tool. The product helps me share documents with other people.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I use the free version of the product.

What other advice do I have?

As the product is available on the cloud, it is always available. The tool also offers users the ability to share documents with other people.

The product's ability to relate to team collaboration consists of a wide range of areas. For our professional contacts, my company uses Microsoft Teams since it is one of the most common tools.

I don't have any special recommendations related to the product since it is a straightforward solution.

My company does not use the product's integration capabilities.

In terms of the protection features, it seems like the tool has some safeguards in place if you want to use it like MFA or features to secure communications.

I rate the tool a nine out of ten.

A web application that works as a repository for storing data such as Excel, Word documents, and more
Pros and Cons
  • "One of the most strong features is the ability to collaborate by sharing files with others, allowing concurrent work. The most valuable features of our team's collaboration include concurrent editing and quickly creating reports. This allows for simultaneous editing, moderation, and finalization of our reports."
  • "Improvements could include better editing features within a Word document, similar to the characteristics of on-premises versions, such as more formatting functions. Another improvement could be file transfer from the browser to the desktop, making it as simple as drag and drop."

What is our primary use case?

The tool is our repository for storing data such as Excel, Word documents, and more.

What is most valuable?

One of the most strong features is the ability to collaborate by sharing files with others, allowing concurrent work. The most valuable features of our team's collaboration include concurrent editing and quickly creating reports. This allows for simultaneous editing, moderation, and finalization of our reports.

The tool is secure, and you won't encounter any difficulties.

What needs improvement?

Improvements could include better editing features within a Word document, similar to the characteristics of on-premises versions, such as more formatting functions. Another improvement could be file transfer from the browser to the desktop, making it as simple as drag and drop.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the product for more than five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I rate Google Drive Enterprise's stability as ten out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I think it is quite scalable. The free version offers up to one or ten gigabytes of storage, and you can pay for extra space if needed. My company has five to ten users who use it daily.

How are customer service and support?

We don't need to contact support because everything is straightforward. In most cases, we solve any issues ourselves. The products are mature and provide straightforward solutions, so support is unnecessary.

How was the initial setup?

Google Drive Enterprise's deployment is easy. It's just a web application.

What was our ROI?

The biggest value is that you don't need to exchange files manually. You have a central repository and concurrent users, which is quite important.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

You don't need to pay if it is within your storage limits. If you need more, you can have a corporate license. I don't know the pricing, but there is a corporate license. The extra costs would only be if you exceed these free limits.

What other advice do I have?

I rate the overall product a ten out of ten. I would advise others to start using it without hesitation. It's safe and reliable so that you won't lose your data.

Easy to set up with simple file access and very reliable
Pros and Cons
  • "It's a stable product."
  • "The only thing that's really been annoying is the single file size limit."

What is our primary use case?

I usually use it for storing and organizing documents that I was using for training and stuff, which I can't use on my personal laptop, or on my office laptop. Anything which I use for my learning, if I put it on the work laptop, I can't get it out. Whatever I'm practicing on the web or anything, I usually park it there. That's one of the reasons why I don't use an app (due to company policy).

What is most valuable?

I like that I can access files from anywhere. In my case, I can't get anything out of the work laptop. That's why I park all my learning materials and personal critical documents there.

The initial setup is a breeze.

It's a stable product.

What needs improvement?

I've not reached a stage where I hit a snag and, "Oh, I wish this feature was there," or something like that. I've really not come across that so far.

I've not used the programming, the API version, to really comment on what could be simpler in that sense. The web version of it is pretty good.

The only thing that's really been annoying is the single file size limit. Apart from that, it's fine.

I'd like different storage tiers. The storage tiers are a little tricky. Up to the mid-range, it is good, and then after that, it's a huge bump. I don't really recall off the top of my head what storage is now. However, when I went for a paid subscription, I felt there was a huge gap between the two of the subscriptions, in terms of the storage. I thought I would find something in between, which would've been slightly better. That was about a year ago. I'm not sure if that has changed. At that time, when I looked at it, there were two options and my requirement was absolutely in the middle.

There might be one for 10GB and one for 100GB, and I might have needed 50GB and that wasn't an option.

When I upload something on photos and then there is something on Google Drive itself, the ability to see the photos that are uploaded as files on the drive, would be a good option to have. Accessing them on Google Drive itself could be much simpler.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the solution for three to five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It's very stable. I've never faced a situation where a document has gone missing or the service is not available. What they have and how they centralize the backup, it's absolutely fine.

How are customer service and support?

I've never really had to go to technical support. Using technical support may apply more when you are doing an API-based or programming-based access to things. In my case, with Google Drive, I use it predominantly on an interactive basis. I've never hit any problem.

Whenever I need additional services I can pay for the paid version for the duration I need, and once I'm done, I typically unsubscribe at the end of the month. Everything is pretty simple and quite effective. If I need additional power, I usually switch to a paid Colab version and bump up the CPUs I need for the DPUs.

Everything works fine. I really never had to seek out a support person to resolve an issue.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I've also used Microsoft storage as well. I found Google is much better when it comes to searching, merging, and pulling documents. Microsoft can be inconsistent.

How was the initial setup?

The solution is very straightforward and simple. it's quite easy. It's not complicated at all.

What other advice do I have?

I'm an end-user.

I usually use the web version.

I'd rate the solution eight out of ten.

User-friendly, reliable, and accessible from any machine or mobile device
Pros and Cons
  • "The solution is very user-friendly."
  • "The vendor must increase awareness about the tool among the common people."

What is our primary use case?

Google Drive Enterprise is a shared space. We can access our Google Drive from any device. I use the tool for my personal use cases.

What is most valuable?

The solution is accessible from any machine or mobile device. It is a big advantage. The solution is very user-friendly. Even a common man can use it. It is always available.

What needs improvement?

In most of the devices, the product works in the background. The common man wouldn't even know they use Google Drive to access their photos from anywhere. The awareness of the common people is very low. The vendor must increase awareness about the tool among the common people. It will benefit Google.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I rate the product’s stability an eight out of ten. There is room for improvement.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The product’s scalability is good. I rate the scalability a nine out of ten.

How was the initial setup?

The setup is not complex. It is simple. I just need to have my email ID, and I should be logged in on the device to access the product.

What was our ROI?

My files and photos are available from all the devices I use. Google Drive can be accessed through mobile devices. It is stable and reliable.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The product is free.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We evaluated OneDrive. We must log in to our Microsoft account to use OneDrive, which we rarely do on mobile devices. Many people do not have Microsoft accounts, and it's not very common. OneDrive is better suited for work purposes.

What other advice do I have?

I will recommend the solution to others. We must understand how it functions and use it well. I rate the usability a nine out of ten. Overall, I rate the product a nine out of ten.
