Stable and well-integrated with Google products
Pros and Cons
  • "The integration with Gmail, Calendar, and Google Meet is the most valuable."
  • "The ability to share documents with outside clients can be improved. It is difficult to share documents with outside clients, and that's why I am looking at some other solution. If you use Google Drive, they want you to use all of their Google Suite, but not everybody uses Google Suite for document creation. It is not a great solution if you are working with a company that doesn't use Google Suite."

What is our primary use case?

We use it for general storage and sharing documents. We are using the latest version.

What is most valuable?

The integration with Gmail, Calendar, and Google Meet is the most valuable.

What needs improvement?

The ability to share documents with outside clients can be improved. It is difficult to share documents with outside clients, and that's why I am looking at some other solution.

If you use Google Drive, they want you to use all of their Google Suite, but not everybody uses Google Suite for document creation. It is not a great solution if you are working with a company that doesn't use Google Suite.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Google Drive Enterprise for less than a year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is Google. It is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I didn't really have to test that. We have only two users.

How are customer service and technical support?

I haven't used them.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was straightforward.

What other advice do I have?

It is very well-integrated with Google products such as Google Suite. It is a great solution for non-profits and similar stuff, but when you're dealing with other businesses and corporations that have not adopted this solution, it doesn't play nice.

I would rate Google Drive Enterprise an eight out of ten.

It's convenient and you can access it anywhere
Pros and Cons
  • "Google Drive is always up when I need it, so I don't have any complaints."
  • "Google Drive could offer more free storage."

What is our primary use case?

I use Google Drive to store files that I don't want to lose, like personal stuff, academic records, and my C.V.

What is most valuable?

The performance is good.

What needs improvement?

Google Drive could offer more free storage.

For how long have I used the solution?

I believe I started using Google Drive when it first came out.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Google Drive is always up when I need it, so I don't have any complaints.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

You pay for what you need, so I think it's scalable.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I used DropBox in the past, but I switched to Google Drive because it's more convenient. You can access it anywhere from the web interface.

How was the initial setup?

There is no installation. You only need to log in to your Gmail account. It's not technical to set up.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I use the personal version. It's not a license per se. It's more like a subscription.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Google Drive nine out of 10. It isn't perfect, but I don't have any complaints.

Extremely accessible, easy to use, and very stable
Pros and Cons
  • "Google has a lot of tools. They are really useful and they are really simple to use."
  • "In the free version, managing the files and folders and data is a little difficult."

What is our primary use case?

I typically use Google Drive and some other tools that are included such as Google Slides, Google Docs, and Google Sheets.

I mostly use it for sharing documents at work. For example, in my team, we want to share all templates on the documents we need to create. We also share pictures that we might use for marketing. Personally, I save all the documents of my project as I work on them, sometimes from home, sometimes at work, and I need to access them from everywhere. I have some projects in some folders and I save all of my documents in my Google Drive.

I mainly use it for everything related to the saving and sharing of documentation.

What is most valuable?

The most important thing about Google Drive is that it's accessible from everywhere.

It's free if you use under 15 GBs, however, for me, that's enough.

Google has a lot of tools. They are really useful and they are really simple to use.

google docs is the most valuable feature for me.

What needs improvement?

In my job, we don't have any special challenges using Google Drive. We use it easily, however, we only use it personally and to share our documents.

We have never used, for example, Google Workspace and other products. In the free version, managing the files and folders and data is a little difficult. It is a bit improved in the Workspace version, however, I have never tried it. That's one of our main challenges when it comes to using Google Drive - managing the files and access. For example, somebody could just access it to view it, or somebody could access for editing in both cases without permission, and that's our challenge right now.

Once you move off of the free version and go to the enterprise solution, it can get quite pricey.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the solution for more than a year at this point.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is very stable. I've never had issues with it crashing or freezing. It works quite well.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is quite scalable. You can use 15GBs for free, and after that, you can scale up.

In our organization, everybody uses it, and we're more than 50 people at this point.

In the future, we'll continue to use it and most likely increase usage.

How are customer service and technical support?

I've never had to reach out to support due to the fact that everything is so stable. We haven't had any issues to speak of. Therefore, I can't speak to their knowledge or responsiveness.

How was the initial setup?

There's no installation needed at all. You simply sign up and log on.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I simply use the free version of the solution. There's no cost at all in terms of licensing.

Once you move up to the enterprise level of the solution, when you have to pay, it's a bit pricey for us in my country.

What other advice do I have?

We're just a customer.

I'm not sure which version of the solution I'm using. I believe it is the latest.

For cloud computing and other things, I have never used Google Drive due to the fact that I don't do cloud computing.

One of the reasons that I use Google Drive is that I used Gmail for more than 10 years. Therefore, when I had to choose a cloud storage soulution, I selected Google Drive as I had experience with it and it was really easy to use and it was accessible all the time.

In the past, I have recommended the solution to others, and I will continue to do so. It's a good platform and has excellent tools for teaching and education in particular. I would recommend it, especially for education, and for teachers and students.

Overall, I'd rate the solution nine out of ten. For a free version of a product, it's great and does basically everything we need it to do.

Good for sharing, searching and storage share
Pros and Cons
  • "Low maintenance solution."
  • "Record your meeting and simply share with anyone without thinking where to store the file."
  • "Google meets use of whiteboard is primitive making it difficult to demonstrate while talking."

What is our primary use case?

We utilize the Drive Enterprise for sharing, the search drive and the storage share.

What is most valuable?

The ease of user sharing information among people in the organization is the most valuable feature of this solution.

For example, when you have a meeting, you can record it and then simply share with anyone you would like. You don't have to think about where to put the file, everything is semi-automatic, everything is functional.

What needs improvement?

Microsoft Teams has a lot more features than Google. Google Meet allows you to collaborate by drawing on a whiteboard while talking in the meeting, however it is primitive and not user friendly as it is a bit challenging to try to demonstrate using the whiteboard.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using Google Drive since day one of our organization.

How are customer service and support?

Google Drive Enterprise is a low maintenance solution.

What other advice do I have?

If you don't need the added features of Microsoft Teams, Google Meet will satisfy the needs of collaboration and discussion. It is a good integration of Google. There has been no problems or issues. I would give it a 9 out of 10.

Secure, scalable, and useful collaboration function
Pros and Cons
  • "The solution is easy to use, has good performance, and is secure."
  • "The solution could improve User Access Management by showing more detailed information of which users have access to folders or files. For example, you can see which users have access one by one, but there is not a dashboard that can show what user has access to a library document."

What is our primary use case?

The main purpose we are using Google Drive Enterprise is for storing files and the collaboration function. We share documents with certain members of the company.

What is most valuable?

The solution is easy to use, has good performance, and is secure.

What needs improvement?

The solution could improve User Access Management by showing more detailed information of which users have access to folders or files. For example, you can see which users have access one by one, but there is not a dashboard that can show what user has access to a library document.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Google Drive Enterprise for approximately five years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Google Drive Enterprise is scalable.

We have approximately 30 people using this solution in my organization.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

There is a monthly fee that we pay for the use of this solution and the price is fair.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We evaluated Microsoft One Drive before choosing Google Drive Enterprise. We found the collaboration feature to be better with Google.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend this solution to others.

I rate Google Drive Enterprise a ten out of ten.

  • "I would like to see better integration with Google Docs, the Google landscape in general, and other environments."

What is our primary use case?

I used this solution for holding data files and sharing them. I stopped using it because I did not like being constrained within the Google environment.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is the ability to share files.

What needs improvement?

I would like to see better integration with Google Docs, the Google landscape in general, and other environments.
