Easy to use and makes file management and file sharing easy
Pros and Cons
- "Though I don't see a major difference between Google Drive Enterprise and other competitors, I find that the solution is easy to use. You just need to connect to it and upload files and give access to users who need access to the files. It's very easy to manage files and share files on Google Drive Enterprise, and these are its most valuable features."
- "Security-wise, Google Drive Enterprise needs improvement. Compared to its competitor: Kiteworks, Google Drive Enterprise is less secure."
What is our primary use case?
We've been using Google Drive Enterprise internally, particularly from one developer to another, for file sharing. With it, we can upload files and share files with other users. We can also give access to users or a full company, so they can access or edit files. We can also restrict and give "view only" access, so users are only able to download and not edit the files.
What is most valuable?
Though I don't see a major difference between Google Drive Enterprise and other competitors, I find that the solution is easy to use. You just need to connect to it and upload files and give access to users who need access to the files. It's very easy to manage files and share files on Google Drive Enterprise, and these are its most valuable features.
What needs improvement?
Security-wise, Google Drive Enterprise needs improvement. Compared to its competitor: Kiteworks, Google Drive Enterprise is less secure.
As for additional features that I'd like to see from Google Drive Enterprise in the future, in terms of security, it's only asking for OTP, but that's still fine. Storage-wise, storage could be increased especially if users have a large number of files to upload and users want to maintain all those files in the cloud rather than locally.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've been using Google Drive Enterprise for three years, and I'm still using it.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Google Drive Enterprise is a stable solution. For the past three years that I've been using it, I didn't see any delay or issue when uploading or sharing files, and I also didn't experience any issues in terms of the server being down.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Google Drive Enterprise is a scalable solution. We can upload several files, but I'm unsure what the maximum file size is, for example, it could be 20 GB maximum, but I'm not sure. We can share files, but in a single upload, I'm unable to say what the limit is in terms of the file size.
How are customer service and support?
We didn't get the chance to connect with the technical support for Google Drive Enterprise because we haven't faced any issues with the solution.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I have no information about the licensing or cost associated with Google Drive Enterprise.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I evaluated Kiteworks.
What other advice do I have?
I would recommend Google Drive Enterprise to other users. Normally the bank my company works with prefers Kiteworks, but my company suggested Google Drive for sharing and maintaining files and the bank is also okay with it.
I'm rating Google Drive Enterprise a nine out of ten versus Kiteworks which I'm rating a seven out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

867,676 professionals have used our research since 2012.
Senior Director at a computer software company with 10,001+ employees
Easy to set up with simple file access and very reliable
Pros and Cons
- "It's a stable product."
- "The only thing that's really been annoying is the single file size limit."
What is our primary use case?
I usually use it for storing and organizing documents that I was using for training and stuff, which I can't use on my personal laptop, or on my office laptop. Anything which I use for my learning, if I put it on the work laptop, I can't get it out. Whatever I'm practicing on the web or anything, I usually park it there. That's one of the reasons why I don't use an app (due to company policy).
What is most valuable?
I like that I can access files from anywhere. In my case, I can't get anything out of the work laptop. That's why I park all my learning materials and personal critical documents there.
The initial setup is a breeze.
It's a stable product.
What needs improvement?
I've not reached a stage where I hit a snag and, "Oh, I wish this feature was there," or something like that. I've really not come across that so far.
I've not used the programming, the API version, to really comment on what could be simpler in that sense. The web version of it is pretty good.
The only thing that's really been annoying is the single file size limit. Apart from that, it's fine.
I'd like different storage tiers. The storage tiers are a little tricky. Up to the mid-range, it is good, and then after that, it's a huge bump. I don't really recall off the top of my head what storage is now. However, when I went for a paid subscription, I felt there was a huge gap between the two of the subscriptions, in terms of the storage. I thought I would find something in between, which would've been slightly better. That was about a year ago. I'm not sure if that has changed. At that time, when I looked at it, there were two options and my requirement was absolutely in the middle.
There might be one for 10GB and one for 100GB, and I might have needed 50GB and that wasn't an option.
When I upload something on photos and then there is something on Google Drive itself, the ability to see the photos that are uploaded as files on the drive, would be a good option to have. Accessing them on Google Drive itself could be much simpler.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've been using the solution for three to five years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
It's very stable. I've never faced a situation where a document has gone missing or the service is not available. What they have and how they centralize the backup, it's absolutely fine.
How are customer service and support?
I've never really had to go to technical support. Using technical support may apply more when you are doing an API-based or programming-based access to things. In my case, with Google Drive, I use it predominantly on an interactive basis. I've never hit any problem.
Whenever I need additional services I can pay for the paid version for the duration I need, and once I'm done, I typically unsubscribe at the end of the month. Everything is pretty simple and quite effective. If I need additional power, I usually switch to a paid Colab version and bump up the CPUs I need for the DPUs.
Everything works fine. I really never had to seek out a support person to resolve an issue.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I've also used Microsoft storage as well. I found Google is much better when it comes to searching, merging, and pulling documents. Microsoft can be inconsistent.
How was the initial setup?
The solution is very straightforward and simple. it's quite easy. It's not complicated at all.
What other advice do I have?
I'm an end-user.
I usually use the web version.
I'd rate the solution eight out of ten.

Pros and Cons
- "The solution's most valuable features are its flexibility and accessibility."
- "Google can add a personalized dashboard that would give insights into the files that I have."
What is our primary use case?
I use the solution if I want to keep some personal files, photos, or videos in the cloud and don't need physical hardware to store them.
What is most valuable?
The solution's most valuable features are its flexibility and accessibility. You can access it whenever you have internet access.
What needs improvement?
Google can add a personalized dashboard that would give insights into the files that I have.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Google Drive Enterprise for more than five years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I haven’t had any issues with the solution’s stability.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I rate the solution’s scalability ten out of ten.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We're using the Box tool in our company. Box has collaboration features that allow you to collaborate and share files with your colleagues.
What was our ROI?
You can access the tool anytime, anywhere if you are connected to the internet. You can store valuable files, photos, and videos in the cloud. I make it a point to use cloud storage to store pictures of my toddler. I can easily access them whenever I need them.
What other advice do I have?
I feel secure using the solution because I always use two-factor authentication. I would recommend the solution to other users.
Overall, I rate the solution ten out of ten.

A solution that offers its users an option to easily share and collaborate
Pros and Cons
- "Google Drive Enterprise provides convenience to its users. Also, it provides its users the option to easily share and collaborate."
- "Some features like transpose are still lacking in the solution for power users."
What is most valuable?
Google Drive Enterprise provides convenience to its users. Also, it provides its users the option to easily share and collaborate. So, these are some of the main benefits of the solution.
What needs improvement?
Regarding the applications available on Google Drive Enterprise, specifically products like Google Docs and related offerings, offer a compatibility level that is very good. Some features like transpose are still lacking in the solution for power users. While these products are quite good, transitioning between Microsoft and Google products can be problematic because not all features convert as smoothly as expected.
For how long have I used the solution?
In our company, we use Google Drive Enterprise. Also, we are customers of the product.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Stability-wise, I haven't had any outages while using the solution.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I don't see any problems with the scalability of the solution because our company is still growing, and we don't have a large number of employees yet. Currently, we only have a couple of hundred employees. So, we aren't pushing it that hard, but we have had no issues so far.
How are customer service and support?
In our company, we never had a reason to contact the technical support team.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I use lots of Google and Microsoft products mainly, apart from OfficeSuite, Google Cloud, and other Google-related products since my company heavily uses all of these products.
How was the initial setup?
I wasn't involved in the tool's setup. However, getting my own personal account was very easy. I had to just sign up, after which I got a link from our IT. I just had to go through it. So, the setup was very easy.
What other advice do I have?
I would say that it's a fine product. I never have any hesitations about its basic functionality or from a stability standpoint. So, I would definitely recommend it to others. That being said, if you are a power user who frequently switches between Microsoft and Google Drive Enterprise, there are some peculiarities that you should be aware of, and so I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

Simple setup, price well, and highly reliable
Pros and Cons
- "The stability of Google Drive Enterprise is good."
- "It would be helpful if there was a synchronization option that would allow me to synchronize folders or emails with my online repository. That way, any new items added to the folder would automatically be uploaded to the solution, without me having to manually upload them."
What is our primary use case?
Google Drive Enterprise is used for storing important data.
What needs improvement?
It would be helpful if there was a synchronization option that would allow me to synchronize folders or emails with my online repository. That way, any new items added to the folder would automatically be uploaded to the solution, without me having to manually upload them.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Google Drive Enterprise for approximately five years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The stability of Google Drive Enterprise is good.
I rate the stability of Google Drive Enterprise a ten out of ten.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
We have approximately 100 users using this solution.
I rate the scalability of Google Drive Enterprise a ten out of ten.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup of Google Drive Enterprise is simple. The process takes approximately one hour.
What about the implementation team?
We did the implementation of the solution in-house.
What was our ROI?
The solution is worth the value. We have received a return on investment. The overall solution is good, from the memory and storage given.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The price of Google Drive Enterprise is affordable and is one of its best features. I am on a monthly subscription.
What other advice do I have?
We have one person for maintenance that does the data backups.
My advice to others is if they need cloud storage of information in a secure location, I would recommend this solution.
I rate Google Drive Enterprise a ten out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud

Competitive Intelligence at a tech services company with 201-500 employees
Functional and modern with good auto-saving capabilities
Pros and Cons
- "Google autosaves your work, which means you won't lose things."
- "The solution is relatively new and takes some time to get used to."
What is our primary use case?
I primarily use the solution in the same way I would use the Microsoft suite - for presentations, documentation, et cetera.
What is most valuable?
It helps me with presentations, and I use Slides for that. I also use Sheets, which is like Excel. Everything is together. It's got everything I need.
There isn't too much of a difference between Google and Microsoft products, which makes it easier, as you can work on both. I can do something in PowerPoint and convert it into Slides. The same is true in Excel, which I can put into Slides.
Google autosaves your work, which means you won't lose things. Microsoft requires you to hit save; if you don't, you can lose your work.
The functionality is good.
It is stable.
Google is newer and more modern. Many people are finding Microsoft old school in comparison.
What needs improvement?
I've used PowerPoint and other Microsoft tools over the years and find it easier to use than Google. Google still has a learning curve you need to get over. I find I have to learn all the ways to do things I know quite easily in Microsoft.
The solution is relatively new and takes some time to get used to.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've been using the solution for three years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution is stable and reliable. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. The performance is good.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
We have 500 people in our company. Many are using Google and prefer it over Microsoft.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I use a lot of Microsoft products, or used to, for 20 years. I moved from Microsoft products to Google. The organization that I moved to was using Google and so I moved over to that instead.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I don't deal with licensing. I can't speak to the exact costs.
What other advice do I have?
We are customers.
I'd recommend the solution. Some people may use both Google and Microsoft tools. However, Google is great when people save documents and work on them together. It seems everyone is headed toward Google, which is growing in popularity.
I'd rate the product nine out of ten. I haven't had an experience where I haven't been able to do something. It works quite well.

The environment, ecosystem and elements bundled with the solution are not strong
Pros and Cons
- "I find it valuable to have access to my files from any location."
- "The price of additional storage could be reduced. I have an annual subscription and I'm only using 150GB because of the price."
What is our primary use case?
I use the solution at my job at least once a week to exchange files. About 15% of my time per week is devoted to it.
How has it helped my organization?
Staff exchange files through the solution.
What is most valuable?
I find it valuable to have access to my files from any location. If I'm traveling, I access files via my mobile or another terminal device. I have access to materials I want to take to my class and don't have to carry anything. I just put my files in the solution and open them wherever I need them. I don't even have to carry a flash drive.
What needs improvement?
The price of additional storage could be reduced. I have an annual subscription and I'm only using 150GB because of the price.
The environment, ecosystem, and elements bundled with the solution are not strong.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using the solution for ten years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I don't use the product often enough to rate stability.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The solution is scalable if you pay for additional storage.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I use 1TB of my Microsoft Drive extensively for various things. I haven't completely made the switch because of storage costs.
How was the initial setup?
The setup was not complex, but could be improved with dashboard clarity. For example, a colleague sends me a link to a file on his drive. When opening the link, it is not apparent if the file is still on his drive or now shared on mine. I shouldn't have to open the file to store it on my drive. I would like this ease-of-use workflow item to be improved.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Storage is the only product offered and that makes it expensive to use. If you compare it to Amazon Web Services and Microsoft, storage is incidental to other products, suites, and services. For example, Microsoft offers 1TB of storage with the purchase of Microsoft Office. The perception is that Microsoft offers free storage. It is convenient to package products and have fewer vendors with one support team. If I'm looking at storage only, I look at relative costs.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I have evaluated and still use Microsoft Drive.
What other advice do I have?
I rate the solution a three out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
Google
