It is a shared drive. We are a reseller, and we have multiple customers. We give training, and sometimes, when customers are having any issues, we also need to troubleshoot them.
We have its latest version.

It is a shared drive. It is useful for our organization for uploading documents that will be visible to all of our employees. Our HR, finance team, accounts team, and other teams use it for any important notifications or documents. They upload a document in the shared drive, and it is visible to all of the employees. Rather than sending it to everyone one by one, they just need to allow the document to be shared with the whole organization. It is convenient and easy to use.
It is very easy to use. Everything is available on the cloud, which is what I like the most. So, when we require a document, we can download it at any time and in any of the formats.
Multiple formats are available, and it also saves multiple versions, which makes it the best. We can just restore the previous version and download it based on our convenience and in our preferred format. These are some of the features that I like the most.
I have sometimes observed that when the data is very huge or there are so many rules, Google Sheets documents get stuck while uploading. It keeps on loading the document and gives an error. There should be an improvement in this aspect. It should be quick. Currently, we have to wait for a long time.
One of our customers was basically having this issue related to the transfer of ownership of a folder. A user had created the folder in Google Drive, and he had shared that folder with other users. Those users created subfolders in that shared folder or uploaded multiple documents and shared them with the whole team. When the person who has created the main folder left the organization, we had to help him to transfer the ownership of the Google Drive to someone else, but things got messy. It was hard to know who had shared what, and basically, the ownership was totally lost. The ownership should have been transferred properly in the exact structure for all folders and subfolders.
It should be easier to implement or deploy it on our system, rather than on the cloud. There should be some improvement so that it is easily deployed without files and folders getting messy or downloads not completing. Sometimes, the downloads don't complete, and the next day, it starts again. Sometimes, it gets corrupted or doesn't start from the beginning. So, it should be easy to deploy on a system.
There is a per-day upload or download limit. They should increase and improve that.
I have more than six years of experience in working with Google Drive Enterprise.
It is reliable.
In terms of scalability, it has a problem. There is a per-day limit for uploading or downloading. It is okay for a few KBs and GBs, but sometimes, when we have the enterprise plan and we have to upload and download 1 TB or up to 5 TB data for immediate purposes, there is a limit. It should be improved in that aspect.
Their support is great.
Its initial setup was okay. It only got complex when subfolders were created, and the folders and subfolders were further shared.
It has a yearly license.
I would highly recommend this solution. There are a few things that require improvement, but it also has some very good features.
I would rate Google Drive Enterprise an eight out of 10.
We use it to manage our enterprise accounts. We also use it for communications like email communication, video conferencing, et cetera. With Drive specifically, we use that for storing internal confidential documents or internal documentation that require an extra level of security.
It provides a solution for secure document sharing that is not really matched by other similar solutions.
I would say that spreadsheets (Sheets) and document (Docs) functionalities have been most useful. That is because it is easily tied in with the ability to choose who you share something with. I think that is really primarily what is most valuable to us.
In a more general way and for our purposes, I would say having a little bit more control and clarity over what is shared and how it is shared would be a useful improvement. There are obviously controls already in the product for sharing and restrictions, but they could be more robust and flexible as far as assigning restrictions.
Also, some of the features within Sheets could be enhanced. It is meant to be a replacement to Excel, but it really is not there yet as a product with equal capabilities as there are still quite a few limitations to the functionality.
Aside from those few things, there is really not too much that I think needs to be added to the product to improve it. It is quite a simple product and that is kind of the beauty of it. There is not too much more that you could add to it that would really help and might just complicate it instead. I think it is quite a mature, simple, good solution.
We have been using the product for about a year now in my current role with this company. I used it in previous roles and as a customer for several years before that.
We have not had any issues with the stability of the product.
There really are no issues with scalability. Storage is unlimited and it is on the cloud so it can scale automatically.
Personally, I have not had a reason to put in a call to the technical support but the team that administers the account has. I know I have not heard any negative feedback. Response times are within the SLA (Service Level Agreement), so the service is as expected.
The setup is really pretty straightforward.
It is inexpensive and the cost is per user per month.
We did not really do any serious evaluations of products of this type before choosing to go with Drive Enterprise. I only previously looked at things like Dropbox which are pretty insecure solutions. I have used those things in the past but I have not used them for many years now because of the lack of better security features in them.
My advice to people who are considering Google Drive Enterprise as a solution is to go ahead and use it. It is a good tool. It is secure. It is great for managing internal company documentation in a secure fashion.
On a scale from one to ten where one is the worst and ten is the best, I would rate the product as about a nine-out-of-ten. To make it better than that it would really need to have some sort of revolutionary improvement that makes it step ahead of the entire class of products. I do not know what that would be. I, personally, very seldom give things 10-out-of-10 as I think perfection is something that is essentially unattainable.
Google Drive Enterprise is designed for different use cases. It is used for sharing with colleagues or teams. It is naturally easy to use and perfect for basic usability.
The solution provides access and manageability of storage.
Collaboration might be improved. In SharePoint, you have a structured directory, which makes it better for managing, organizing, and versioning documents. On the other hand, Jira is a bit more complicated and is more suitable for small companies. For large companies, SharePoint is better for collaboration.
The biggest weakness is its connectivity and integration issues with Microsoft products. Many companies rely heavily on Microsoft Office, especially for Excel, and if a customer uses Google Drive, they need easy access to all these resources. For example, using Excel in Google Suite is not seamless; it can be difficult to edit and use, making the experience frustrating and unattractive.
I have been using Google Drive Enterprise for five years.
I rate the solution’s stability an eight or nine out of ten.
The solution is scalable. 50,000 users are using this solution.
Support is responsible for supporting every question, ticket, and incident related to Azure, Google Drive, and other associated services.
Overall, I rate the solution a seven out of ten.
I primarily use the solution in the same way I would use the Microsoft suite - for presentations, documentation, et cetera.
It helps me with presentations, and I use Slides for that. I also use Sheets, which is like Excel. Everything is together. It's got everything I need.
There isn't too much of a difference between Google and Microsoft products, which makes it easier, as you can work on both. I can do something in PowerPoint and convert it into Slides. The same is true in Excel, which I can put into Slides.
Google autosaves your work, which means you won't lose things. Microsoft requires you to hit save; if you don't, you can lose your work.
The functionality is good.
It is stable.
Google is newer and more modern. Many people are finding Microsoft old school in comparison.
I've used PowerPoint and other Microsoft tools over the years and find it easier to use than Google. Google still has a learning curve you need to get over. I find I have to learn all the ways to do things I know quite easily in Microsoft.
The solution is relatively new and takes some time to get used to.
I've been using the solution for three years.
The solution is stable and reliable. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. The performance is good.
We have 500 people in our company. Many are using Google and prefer it over Microsoft.
I use a lot of Microsoft products, or used to, for 20 years. I moved from Microsoft products to Google. The organization that I moved to was using Google and so I moved over to that instead.
I don't deal with licensing. I can't speak to the exact costs.
We are customers.
I'd recommend the solution. Some people may use both Google and Microsoft tools. However, Google is great when people save documents and work on them together. It seems everyone is headed toward Google, which is growing in popularity.
I'd rate the product nine out of ten. I haven't had an experience where I haven't been able to do something. It works quite well.
Google Drive Enterprise can integrate well with Splunk users.
The most valuable features of Google Drive Enterprise are the secure file-sharing service. It is necessary to communicate with people, and the safe large file transfer is good. It's very useful and critical for us to communicate with each other nowadays. They integrate well with other Google solutions, such as Google Documents and Google Spreadsheet.
Google Drive Enterprise can improve by having better compatibility with Microsoft files. Google Drive Enterprise sometimes blocks Japanese characters in documents.
I'm using Slack for internal communication and with other companies. Google Drive Enterprise has some integration with chat tools, but they can do more with the chat tools in the future.
We sometimes lose track of the files. Slack can allow users to upload files, but uploading the files gets disconnected from Google Drive Enterprise. More integration is needed.
I have been using Google Drive Enterprise for approximately four years.
Google Drive Enterprise is stable when there is a sufficient network connection. If someone has a slow connection they might run into issues with file syncing to the cloud and the local storage.
The scalability of Google Drive Enterprise is very good.
Everyone in my company is using this solution.
I have not contacted the support from Google Drive Enterprise.
I previously used OneDrive, Dropbox, and Box for file sharing with our partners, and I think everything is similar to Google Drive Enterprise. I did not find many differences.
The initial setup of Google Drive Enterprise is simple.
I rate Google Drive Enterprise an eight out of ten.
We primarily use the solution for storing and exchanging data.
The solution secures the data well. It also offers good storage.
The initial setup is easy.
It's very stable and reliable.
The product is simple to use and easy to understand. The user interface is great. It's well organized for the most part.
I have not found any areas as of right now for improvement.
I would like to see larger storage capabilities.
If they could continue to design it to make it easier and easier to use, that would be ideal.
I've used the solution for more than four or five years.
I would say the solution is stable. I haven't experienced issues with bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. I have found it to be reliable.
I'm satisfied with technical support, however, I haven't really used them that much.
It's pretty clear and very easy to set up if you follow the steps that automatically direct you. The first step is very easy. You just go through step by step.
As of right now, I am using the free version of the solution. I don't pay for it at all.
I've never looked into other options, however, I'd be open to exploring them.
I'm a customer.
We use the solution in the cloud and on-premises.
I would rate the product an eight out of ten.
I use Google Drive to share documents like meeting minutes with my doctoral supervisor and other people in my lab. I just started my doctorate, so I'm doing some literature reviews, and I have to take some notes about my supervisor's plan for four months and what we should discuss.
You can integrate Slack with Google Drive to share documents in Slack. For example, the supervisor can check the minutes and notes by clicking a link I provide in Slack. I post the notes for the article I'm reviewing, then my supervisor can check what I have read and my current profiles. Sometimes when we have seminars and presentations, the presenters will share slides on Google Drive.
I'm satisfied with the basic function. it's convenient to share documents or download shared documents you need.
I had some issues with permissions at first. I have to ask for Drive permissions because I'm a new doctoral student. Sometimes I have to ask for permission because I can't access this kind of document, but recently they fixed that by adding me to their team. Now I can access any document that my department supervisors and staff share on Drive.
I've used Google Drive off and on for three years while I was getting my master's degree. When I started my doctorate, the supervisor set up a Shared Drive for me, so I've been using Google Drive regularly from September 2021 until now.
I'm never sure if the problem is with Google Drive or my browser. Sometimes, it takes a long time loading, but I'm not sure we should blame Google Drive. Browsers react differently. I open Google Drive in Safari and sometimes the "Back" button doesn't function well, especially when logging in.
I think Google Drive is easy to scale, but I have a student account with limited storage, so I have to file a request to my department if I want to scale. But students don't upload large documents to Google Drive or store lots of pictures and videos.
I'm Chinese, so I used some Chinese products that have a similar function, but sharing in Google Drive is more convenient. I think it works for a multidisciplinary team.
I rate Google Drive eight out of 10. I would give it a higher rating, but it's not stable on my Safari browser. When I do something, I want to finish it very quickly, but Google Drive loads slowly in Safari.
I use Google Drive to create and store documents, like tables, docs, CVs, etc. I also store important documents that I've scanned like my ID, some family papers, and stuff like this.
I like that you can easily create folders and sort things by sliding them in and out. I like the sliding option. It's quite nice.
I would like better security because I use Google Drive to store some personal documents, It would be nice if I could password protect some files.
I've been using Google Drive for more than 10 years.
Google Drive is highly stable. I think Google knows what they're doing with how many users they have.
I've had some documents that we've edited simultaneously, and it never lags. I have some collaborative documents. We have one project with three people working on it.
If I didn't have Google Drive, I would need to carry all my papers physically and I could lose them.
If you have a Google account, you have automatically a Drive. It's almost instant use. It's already pre-installed by Google, so you don't need to do anything.
I rate Google Drive nine out of 10. It's easy to start creating something in the Drive and share it with multiple people. All you need is an email account. It's a great service.
I would recommend Google Drive, depending on what purpose you want to use it for. It's great to have your files on you everywhere, but Google Drive may not be the best solution for every purpose. It's an all-around solution, not specialized.
