A stable solution which is easy to install, but could have better security and be more user friendly
Pros and Cons
  • "I would say that the solution is stable."
  • "The solution could be more secure and user-friendly."

What is our primary use case?

The solution has many uses. One can use it to run personal and business applications.

What needs improvement?

Although security was improved greatly from Windows 7, there are still many artifacts remaining from it and from Windows XP. There is still the control panel. Also, migration wasn't done to the new interface.

As such, the solution could be more secure and user-friendly.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Windows 10 for a couple of years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I would say that the solution is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is not scalable on its own, although it is if one puts it in a company.

How are customer service and technical support?

I have not had experience with technical support.

How was the initial setup?

The solution is easy to install and approximates CAVE.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

There are no surcharges beyond the licensing cost.

The price is fine.

What other advice do I have?

There are thousands using the solution in my organization.

I would definitely recommend the solution to others

I rate Windows 10 as a six or seven out of ten.

Easy to set up, easy to use, and very stable
Pros and Cons
  • "The ease of use has been great. It feels quicker and smoother."
  • "The pricing could be more competitive compared to other products of the same nature."

What is our primary use case?

I use the solution for anything from work to play, however, I mostly use it for work.

What is most valuable?

The ease of use has been great. It feels quicker and smoother.

The initial setup is very easy.

The stability is very good.

The scalability is good.

It's easy to find answers to any questions by researching online.

What needs improvement?

I've heard that they have plans to take away the control panel, which may be a mistake unless they can improve the level of settings.

The pricing could be more competitive compared to other products of the same nature.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using the solution for about three years at this point. It's been a while. I've had some time with it.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is quite stable. I recently had a problem with the computer in terms of the computer hanging a lot and probably hanging five times a day and even through that, it up fairly well. It's really stable compared to previous versions.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

With all the other Microsoft products you now have with Azure and what I'm currently looking at on Microsoft in June, scaling it company-wide and enterprise-wide would be very, very easy. With Microsoft, that scalability wouldn't be as much as the issue, even if you're not on site.

How are customer service and technical support?

I am in computer support and therefore I have figured it out or used manuals online or Google searches or so forth. Although I've got access to vendors and distributors and Microsoft themselves, it's usually easier just to figure it out quicker than trying to find somebody in support. Therefore, I don't tend to deal directly with technical support.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I also work with Linux, which is less expensive. However, everyone is used to Microsoft products, and that's usually the easier route.

How was the initial setup?

I found the initial setup to be very simple and straightforward. It's not complex or difficult.

The deployment is very fast. It might have taken 30 minutes or so to get everything up and running.

What about the implementation team?

I can handle the solution myself. I've done it a million times. It's quite easy. Therefore, I don't need the help of any integrators or consultants.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The solution is expensive, compared to Linux. It's kind of overpriced.

It's just very expensive and the people resort to other means trying to get it which makes the problem worse.

What other advice do I have?

I do resell Microsoft products to the distributor, however, not directly from Microsoft.

I've got it on all my devices now. I don't have any older Windows now.

I'd recommend the solution to others. Windows 10 would probably be your safe go-to if you're looking for Microsoft. If you're looking for something else and can't afford the cost, then I would say Linux options may be ideal.

I'd rate the solution at an eight out of ten.

Pros and Cons
  • "Stability-wise, it's fine."

What is our primary use case?

I use windows 10 for personal usage both at work and while studying.

    What is most valuable?

I enjoy the search feature; you can just start typing what you're looking for and the answer just pops up, right away. Bluetooth works really well with it. It's really easy to navigate and find what you're looking for.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Windows 10 for roughly two to three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Stability-wise, it's fine. I can't comment on the scalability as I've not really tried to change the performance capabilities — I only run it on one device.

How are customer service and technical support?

I have never had to contact technical support. As for documentation, if you need some help you can just search the internet. It's pretty easy to find information on some of the forums or to get some answers via Microsoft's webpages.

    How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was quite straightforward.

What other advice do I have?

I think I'd recommend it. With Linux, you really need to have some kind of programming background or something, and it really depends on what you are using it for, but for general usage, I think Windows is more comfortable. You can control it via the user interface.

In general, I think it's pretty comfortable. It's very comparable — I'd recommend Windows 10.

On a scale from one to ten, I would give Windows 10 a rating of eight.

I can't think of any disadvantages right now but I can't give it a higher rating because it's not perfect. That's why I chose eight.

Faster, more efficient, and more secure than the previous OS
    Pros and Cons
    • "The work is now faster and more efficient because most of the running programs do not crash during the run stage, like the previous version we were using for work."
    • "The frequent update of the Operating system is bad because, during each update, most of the programs or applications do not function well."

What is our primary use case?

I use this Operating system for programming because the previous version was not serving its purpose. Secondly, I use this OS for blogging and I spent most of my time online. My online time includes other IT services that I use the operating system for.

How has it helped my organization?

The work is now faster and more efficient because most of the running programs do not crash during the run stage, like the previous version we were using for work. It is more secure as related to the task or work we have stored in our system.

    What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is the easy assess to most of the settings and features of the PC. Another is that it is more secure because Windows Defender is very efficient and active to detect viruses or trojans that may make the user vulnerable to cybersecurity attacks and other threats.

    What needs improvement?

The frequent update of the Operating system is bad because, during each update, most of the programs or applications do not function well. Updates should be in intervals of every three to four months, and they should have the user's choice and interests in mind before any update.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for two months.

Stable with an easy initial setup and solid capabilities
    Pros and Cons
    • "So far, we have been satisfied with the capabilities of Windows 10."

What is our primary use case?

The solution is useful for running our personal applications, or business applications.

    What is most valuable?

So far, we have been satisfied with the capabilities of Windows 10.

    It's a very stable product.

The initial setup is very simple and quite straightforward.

    What needs improvement?

The cost of Windows 10 is a bit high. They should work to make it lower.

For how long have I used the solution?

I can't recall exactly how long I have used the solution, however, it has been a few years at this point.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability of the product is great. There are no bugs. It's not glitchy. It doesn't crash or freeze. The performance is pretty reliable.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We did not use a different solution before implementing Windows 10.

    How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is not difficult or complex. It's very easy, very straightforward. A company shouldn't have any issues with the implementation process.

I cannot recall the exact amount of time the implementation actually took.

    What about the implementation team?

We did not need an integrator or consultant. The implementation was all delivered centrally by a project team.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We would appreciate the product more if it was less expensive in general.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We did not evaluate other options before adopting this product.

What other advice do I have?

As we are on the cloud deployment version, we are always on the latest deployment of Windows 10.

I'd rate the solution at an eight out of ten. We're happy with its capabilities in general.

I would recommend the product to other organizations and other users as well.
