We haven't seen a reduction in nodes or servers, but there’s greater ease in maintaining the infrastructure and managing it. I would rate Nutanix Unified Storage a nine out of ten. I wouldn't give it a perfect ten out of ten because of the complexity it has when it comes to integrating it with Active Directory.

The tool has been good so far. Our company has thousands of clusters installed, which we're using for virtualization and VMware. I want to explore whether there's a way to eliminate VMware. We want to try using AHV together with storage as a complete solution. Over the last five years, we don't have any other use cases with Nutanix Unified Storage. We're new to NetApp. We use NetApp extensively, and everything is connected to our NetApp ecosystem. We'll try the solution, but there are special use cases where we use some specific NetApp features that aren't available in Nutanix Unified Storage. One limitation we faced was the inability to use external storage, but I've heard that it's on the roadmap and should be delivered soon, which is awesome. Another important feature I learned about is the ability to scale up storage and compute independently. This is crucial for us because we've struggled with this in the past. It's good to see that you're listening to your customers. We haven't been able to reduce the number of storage nodes so far because our systems are distributed worldwide. We need capacity everywhere, so it's hard to consolidate. However, we have been increasing the storage capacity in our storage nodes. I'm happy the tool allows us to think about storage and computing separately. We can grow each independently, which is good for our needs. We initially used VMware virtualization, but we adopted a dual strategy by introducing Nutanix Unified Storage about five years ago. We saw great potential in it from the start. While there were some aspects we weren't fully satisfied with, we actively engaged with the tool, providing feedback. Our goal was to help make Nutanix our primary infrastructure solution. The key factors driving us to adopt Nutanix Unified Storage fully are simplification and end-to-end coverage. We don't have to worry about building the solution or dealing with integrations. I rate the overall product a nine out of ten.

The throughput or latency of Nutanix Unified Storage for data-intensive workloads, such as AI or data analytics, is not an area my company considers a use case in our infrastructure. In our company, we are exploring and migrating some AI and LLM models while also testing them on an on-premises model in order to have a little more control of the data that we are training and so that we can reduce some costs associated with the public cloud, but in general, it is a medium-term project we have in our operations. The product is also capable of working with big projects. My company has not faced any use cases where we had to use the product to detect and block ransomware threats. Implementing the tool has certainly resulted in a reduction in the number of storage nodes due to an increase in storage capacity per node. I don't have the specific number because storage is not my main area, but I say from the top of my head that it could be at 3:1 or 4:1 consolidation. You should not take my word for granted because it is not my main area. The aforementioned area has affected my company's operations and business, especially in terms of simplification, by allowing us to save hours for our providers in the storage area for our administrators while also covering a reduction in incidents. I don't have any idea about Nutanix Data Lens, but in the future, I am interested in working with the cybersecurity team to have a look at the tool's PoC phase, if possible. I think it could be a good use case for us. I rate the tool an eight out of ten.

We do not use the solution for AI and data analytics or for preventing and blocking ransomware. We have not tried to integrate it with other products. However, I have tried to integrate it with a backup solution, and I didn't have any issues. I'd rate the solution ten out of ten.

Overall, I would rate the solution a seven out of ten. With the migration from Prism Element to Prism Central, some things don't really work, but they are always trying to modify it and make changes.
The throughput or latency of Nutanix Unified Storage for data-intensive workloads works well because we have good infrastructure and networking. Since the networking is recent, we have good bandwidth. We're using little volume, but we don't have a lot of traffic. I have never had issues or struggles. I have 15 clusters, and I'm using only one terabyte free. I can't see the efficiency of data reduction because I don't have big volumes. Since I don't have a great volume, I can't say that I have ten terabytes, and deduplication has helped me to reduce one node. I'm the infrastructure manager of our data center. We propose Nutanix Unified Storage. We deliver our volumes, and then the integration team consumes them. I don't know which kind of data is structured or unstructured. We use Cassandra databases for some purposes and Oracle for other use cases. Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.

I don't use it for AI purposes. I use it as a backup and storage system. The performance is for a backup. It's much better than compared to other appliances. I would rate it a nine out of ten. Everything has been okay until now. The integrations are very good. Nutanix works well with Commvault. The customer is now finishing their POC.
We looked at the Data Lens in our POC but we didn't end up putting it into production. I would rate Nutanix Unified Storage a seven out of ten. They could simplify the user experience. Technically it's a ten, but there's still some work we have to do for it.
We do not use it for any AI or data analytics - yet. That said, we've seen a lot of focus on this area for Nutanix. Likely, we will make use of it more in the future. I'd rate the solution nine out of ten. We don't use all of the functionality.

We do not have any data-intensive workloads. Our use case is mainly for the corporate file system. When I start using volumes, I expect the same performance as standard VMs. I will be happy to see a very high performance like everything else so far. Implementing Nutanix Unified Storage has not resulted in a reduction in the number of storage nodes due to increased storage capacity per node. We implemented Nutanix after purchasing storage-heavy nodes. We are not using Nutanix Data Lens. We have Files Analytics. I was looking into Data Lens. Unfortunately, it did not fall within the budget for this year. Perhaps next year, we will be able to give it a go. I would rate Nutanix Unified Storage a nine out of ten. It is not yet perfect. They are going to implement a more consolidated interface. There are basically three products that fall under the storage piece. They are not in the same pane of glass, but it is a very solid product, so I can give it a nine. It meets my needs and resolves all my problems so far. I am sure that when we start implementing volumes, it will prove to be a good solution for that. It is in our roadmap to start using volumes to solve a couple of issues that we have at the moment. I am already confident that it will do so.
We already have Nutanix, and then we use OpenShift together with CSI for block and volume service. I would rate Nutanix Unified Storage a ten out of ten.

We are currently utilizing some tools to protect unstructured data in our organization. These tools are very important because we are a regulated company and a bank. I cannot assess Nutanix Unified Storage for detecting and blocking ransomware threats. It is only for the user profile. We are not using it as a fully blown NAS solution. We have other solutions for that. Overall, I would rate Nutanix Unified Storage an eight out of ten.

I have never used anything in the tool associated with AI, so I don't know about Nutanix Unified Storage's throughput or latency for data-intensive workloads, such as AI or data analytics. I rate the solution a nine out of ten.
I don't see any issues with the solution's latency for data analytics. Implementing Nutanix Unified Storage has not reduced the number of storage nodes. The solution's implementation removes the legacy file servers we're using. It doesn't matter if we have Nutanix Unified Storage or traditional file servers. Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.
We don't face latency issues because the solution provides fast access. Implementing Nutanix Unified Storage has reduced the number of storage nodes due to increased storage capacity per node. We have a six-node cluster, which was double that size earlier. Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

I'd definitely say go for it. It's a great product. My main advice is to negotiate the pricing with the vendor. Beyond that, it integrates well with your current network environment and should work without needing major changes or disrupting your existing setup. Overall, I would rate the solution a nine out of ten. It is a great solution for small enterprises looking for storage options. While it is a bit expensive, the value provided by Nutanix justifies the investment. Your investment will be in safe hands.

For new users considering Nutanix, my advice would be to first assess your specific goals and needs within your environment. Determine what you're aiming to achieve—is it more efficient virtual machines, a smaller footprint in your data center, or reduced energy consumption. In our case, transitioning from VMware to Nutanix significantly reduced our footprint from a full six-foot rack to just three small servers. This not only reduced space requirements but also improved energy efficiency. Additionally, if you're dealing with outdated hardware, Nutanix could be a viable option to explore. Considering recent changes, such as VMware's shift towards more subscription-based models and potentially less customer-oriented programs, evaluating Nutanix's offerings in alignment with your organization's mission and views may be worthwhile. Overall, I would rate it nine out of ten.
I rate Nutanix Unified Storage 10 out of 10. I would recommend Unified Storage if you're looking for more security. It's a feature-rich platform that gives you a high degree of granular control over security.

I would rate Nutanix Unified Storage ten out of ten. The security of Unified Storage is comparable to that of other SDS solutions, and we have not encountered any security concerns. Our positive experience with Unified Storage has prompted us to further invest in Nutanix products to establish our private cloud with on-premises data centers. I would recommend Nutanix Unified Storage for anyone researching enterprise data storage solutions.

I am using the version that was released before the latest version. People planning to buy the solution must make sure that whatever software they put on it is licensed in a way that is friendly for moving block storage in Nutanix. Some products like Oracle Database are not licensed in a way that is friendly for Nutanix products. It is very expensive to license these products. Technically, it is a very good product with good support, but it is very expensive. Other alternatives might require a little bit more technical support, but their prices are very friendly. Overall, I rate the solution a seven out of ten.
I would recommend Nutanix for people that can manage their computing infrastructure. Because when you have Nutanix, you need some expertise in computing science, because it's not very easy to use and administrate. We only have about three clients on Nutanix.
Nutanix Unified Storage (NUS) is a software-defined storage solution that consolidates seamless access and management of siloed block, file, and object storage into a single platform. Leveraging the Nutanix Cloud Platform, NUS is built for scale, performance, and integrated data security requirements of modern applications deployed on core, cloud, or edge.
I rate Nutanix Unified Storage nine out of 10. I would recommend it to others.
