We spoke with you about ARIS Architect and Designer. We already have two architect licenses, I think three architect licenses, and we have, I think, six or seven designer licenses. Architect is basically managing user management and the filter management. All those features, enabling few objects and all that, the Architect is managing that. As a designer, we are doing the process modeling and ARIS viewers are a whole of KAFD, so they're only viewing the processes. Currently we are not using simulation tools, but in the future, we are planning to use the simulation tools. Currently we have just integrated with ERP, which is the HRMS system. We are getting information of the current positions and we are using that information to update processes to see how many new positions are there or how many positions have been archived and then to see the impact of those on the processes. Designers are doing the new process design and process modeling. We are not using ARIS Cloud for now. We are using on-prem. We are not using ARIS Process Governance for BPM for now. We are not using RCM, I'm not sure if it was a recently acquired module or something. Currently we are not using RSM module. We use RPA to do the process optimization and to see how process automation will help KAFD in a bigger picture and improve the processes.
The type of ARIS platform we use is on premise. It is not ARIS Cloud. We use ARIS Architect and Designer for process modeling, EPC, mostly, and we do not use ARIS BPA or Risk and Compliance Manager. We use the architecture designer feature, and we do not use process governance. We use ARIS Architect and Designer as a knowledge hub, and we are mostly using it for process modeling and process governance. However, currently, we have not activated the process governance part yet. We are planning to use the simulation and analysis feature in the future, and we are already in talks with Software AG. Currently, we have done integration through HRMS integration, which basically imports all the objects that are there in HRMS such as positions or units and other items. We are planning to do dashboarding as well, linking it with different kinds of dashboards so that it gives the organization another visibility on the processes.
I use ARIS Architect and Designer ( /products/aris-architect-and-designer-reviews ) for process modeling, enterprise architecture, and business process design. I only use it for customers because it doesn't offer an academic license, unlike Visual Paradigm ( /products/visual-paradigm-reviews ), which I use with my students since it's more affordable for academic purposes.
ARIS Architect is like a nuclear product in the suite. Users have the Designer and the administration module as well. But in the future, maybe in two years, we are going to have everything on the web. ARIS Architect and Designer are Java clients, but Software AG is moving everything to the web. Many administrative tasks are already on the web with ARIS Connect. We can customize the method, meaning we can choose which models to use, with which objects, with which hotspots, and what connections between objects. So, they are moving to the web, but are they doing exactly the same things that we can currently do in ARIS Architect. We can customize and create new objects, models, connections, and hyperlinks. Or we can design from the standard ones and create a specific version of this method according to your needs. This allows us to scale up. Normally, I recommend to customers to start small, customizing as they see fit, and then gradually expand. This is because even people on the customer side sometimes don't have time to assess everything at once. I prefer to start small and move forward according to the possibilities.

We use ARIS to design and publish all our company processes and produce detailed job descriptions of all employees. The content in ARIS is highly detailed, including our modeling processes. Everybody can generate their job description. We create process manuals that provide a detailed description of a process. We also get several reports from the solution. For example, there's a questionnaire about people who work together. HR needs to know who works with whom, and ARIS helps us generate a detailed report so HR can send information to individuals who are working together. These reports are based on the processes we have designed in ARIS, and we update them yearly.

The other use case is to deliver to project delivery teams where the collated information from the reference models used to kickstart project

We mostly use ARIS for the documentation of processes, not for the architecture. It helps us find gaps and quickly analyze where the bottlenecks are. Within our organization, there are roughly 10 people using ARIS. We have a license, but our employees tend to use other software that they are more familiar with.
