@Sichon Theamkaew absolutely agree with the cloud data transaction and storage. There's actually a cloud based platform called Mondial Software that solves this dilemma + 23 other key risks associated with SAP Business One. You can check them out when you get the time.
SAP Business One could be improved if SAP creates one platform to integrate different solutions, particularly having a multi-company concept rather than having different databases. The solution could be similar to SAP S/4 Hana and the SAP Business ByDesign concept.
SAP Business One lacks solutions for some specific use cases, particularly in HR functions and production planning, which require a lot of customization. The API integration is not straightforward and could be improved. The solution lacks scalability as it targets medium to small-scale industries.
There are limitations around integrations. Third-party integrations require the expertise of a functional consultant, and customizations require some technical expertise. Limitations in terms of the B2B commerce setup exist, and we're looking at a consultant to customize a solution. The MTG integration is not possible as it should be in the cloud, but it's on a hosted private server.

In its licensing model and the offering of a pure SaaS solution, which would interest many customers today. Our customers often request concurrent licensing, which is not available with SAP Business One. Adding this option would be beneficial. In future releases, I'd enhance its capabilities to handle point-of-sale transactions, which is currently not available.

Compared to SAP S/4HANA, the solution has user limitations. SAP Business One would be a great product if more customization is available. Many clients rely on Apple products, and SAP Business One does not provide any Apple-based solutions. They are only able to connect on reliable browser access, but clients want applications like Windows. SAP Business One should provide Apple-based solutions.

While SAP has been a leader in the enterprise and SME segments, many competitors have emerged with new features, especially in analytic modules like Salesforce and Oracle. The rise of cloud tools from providers like Amazon, Google, and Azure, offering analytics and visual analytical tools, has contributed to this shift. It seems SAP Business One may not have focused as much on this aspect, prioritizing the basic functioning of the enterprise. As a result, the latest user experience, particularly in digital aspects of data consumption, may not be on par with what's available in the market.
The solution needs to have comprehensive visibility into the entire sales-to-purchase cycle, enabling businesses to monitor SO-PO relationships, track order progress, and generate insightful reports. They need to enhance product and service balance, with a particular focus on improving adaptability and streamlining processes. The integration of sales demand with the procurement of materials, creates a seamless and automated process, ensuring that translates into purchase orders for the necessary materials.
I have seen some limitations. For example, in Sri Lanka, I implemented SAP Business One in the fashion industry, specifically the footwear industry. Currently, the system does not support creating size-wise items with a size grid, which would be a beneficial feature to have. Additionally, in some areas, particularly in budget preparation and cost accounting, there are certain limitations that could be improved. Specifically, the budgeting side needs enhancement. When comparing SAP Business One with Netsuite and Microsoft Dynamics, Netsuite has a feature that allows easy integration with email, whereas SAP Business One lacks this capability. Users need to log in to the SAP Business One application separately to access emails, unlike Netsuite. These minor features make a difference, and if SAP Business One can include and improve such aspects, it would become the ideal product for SMEs. One another thing is SAP Business One consumes a lot of network resources and bandwidth, especially when accessing the web solution, B1 Web Access. While NetSuite is a completely cloud-based solution that can be accessed via a web browser, SAP Business One has this facility but faces some constraints, especially in terms of top performance and speed at the browser level. However, in the network, there are issues regarding application slowness. This could be a major concern with SAP Business One. These are some areas of improvement for me.

The production scheduling, manufacturing, and planning could improve in SAP Business One. Additionally, the projection management module could improve. These functionalities are important in the construction industry we are working in at the moment.
We have continued to use SAP Business ONE due to its add-ons and customization options, but there are still some areas that could use improvement. Otherwise, there are issues with inventory management and quality management, as well as the software not providing detailed information for production. We managed to continue using SAP Business One with the help of add-ons.

The standard SAP Business One is sufficient for the Indian region. There is no need for further enhancement as custom solutions can be designed and developed to meet specific needs. For example, HR and payroll is not a standard feature of the solution, but they can be created as a separate custom solution. However, payroll is not a standard function due to the varying norms and regulations across India's 29 states and union territories. Therefore, a standard payroll solution cannot be provided by SAP to add utility and features. Adding it would lead to different versions of the solution and more complexity in managing them. However, it would be useful to have addons to cover the other states which have different regulations.
@AnkitKumar3 certainly agree with this. In fact Business One still lacks the capability to drill down reports, doesn't support multiple output formats, can't perform multi-company, multi currency and multi language normalizations. Fortunately there's a platform called Mondial Software who can perform all those to work seamlessly with SAP B1c and other ERP's.

HR and project management areas could be better. I would love to have more reporting capabilities. It should have an embedded BI engine. Currently, I have to maintain an additional system for BI.
There are problems with Business One's collection management and reconciliation. It's also quite difficult to automate with external systems, and its reporting could be clearer. In the next release, Business One should include automation for mobile apps.
@reviewer1963812 sadly SAP B1 still lacks in that department. However there are cost effective solutions out there that can produce intuitive work flows that automate the processes of importing data, mapping it to a consistent format ready for reporting, making final adjustments, and producing templated, auditable output. They are what you call ERP "protectors" because they essentially protect the investments a company has made in it's ERP.
We have some problems around here, in Business One. It's hard to have separate models. We have to make multiple forms and have problems doing that. In manufacturing, we do not have things like the actual cost of the fabric, loss of material, the various costs of raw materials, et cetera. Some features are missing. We'd like to see the solution support barcode features.
@Ejaz Khan there's a third party solution that actually fits hand in glove with SAP B1. contains intuitive work flows that automate the processes of importing data, mapping it to a consistent format ready for reporting, making final adjustments, and producing templated, auditable output. It does the following----Stores every GL, AP and AR transaction from across the group in one secure location in the cloud. Holds data in every reporting currency even if that currency is not present in the underlying accounting system. Maps each local chart of accounts to corporate or local statutory versions for seamless reporting consistency. Supports adjustments such as eliminations, revaluation and statutory reallocations to ensure GAAP/IFRS compliance. Offers a secure, easy-to-use report writer that allows the creation of unlimited reports in exactly the format required. Allows the inclusion of comparative data from an unlimited number of budgets for performance analysis. Includes drill-down from any reported balance to line-item source transaction details for complete auditability. Provides multiple output formats including On-screen PDF and Excel as well as the output for electronic submission. An example of that solution is Mondial Software.

SAP Business One could improve by automatically inputting exchange rates in the software. We currently have to enter them manually to find the appropriate exchange rates from a website. If it could be done with one click it would be helpful and more straightforward. We have one person in our IT department that does the maintenance and support of this solution.

There are a lot of good improvements coming out in every version. They release a new version every quarter, with all new up-and-coming things on each one. However, it might be lacking specifications for the specific verticals. However, SAP Business One is a generic tool. It's very widely used, and I understand why it's not into each vertical. There are solution partners available out there to give it those extra areas of what it needs, but this is depending on what kind of business you run.

When it comes to HR B1, there should be a standard solution for SAP itself. This issue is why we contemplated going with a different solution. In respect of HR, we are talking about something basic. Systems should have all the functionality required for SAP functioning and this should be part of the standard module. The localization should be addressed. As we are in the Middle East, they should be familiar with our needs. We found this to be lacking. While the setup and masters is fine, we occasionally find the templates to be confusing. I cannot say that the problem lies with SAP, but with how things are approached by them from the mandate side. So far so good. They study us and provide us with the details we need concerning how to set up the master. Much staff is needed for deployment and maintenance. More manpower is required in a more proper manner. Something which would be helpful to management and, from our vantage point as a user, would be to see a simple reporting tool. An issue could arise for one who is not technically capable and capable of independently creating and developing certain reports, accompanied by many graphs, as seen with a dashboard framework. At present, I don't feel we have the tools at our disposal which are available to the user himself, or the access for their creation.

Every time that we want to integrate with another system that we have, there are not so many APIs that are available. All our systems are on the cloud, so the APIs that are available should be easier to integrate with other systems. Another issue is that the reports are not so good looking. It's not a good looking report. But for us it's not an important thing now. The integration issue is more important because we have some systems that sometimes we need to integrate and we need to adjust some things in the APIs. Overall, the integration and the reports can be better.

SAP Business One could improve asset management, inventory management, banking system, and production. Additionally, SAP Business One did not deduct TDS, withholding tax on payments. There have been some compliance effectiveness issues here in India. For example, in asset management, and business partner management. In the next version of SAP Business One, they should add seemly integration and advanced functionality compliance.
First of all, Business One doesn't have a proper master data management function. So, with any implementation, we had to select the work provider and determine who is responsible for which category of data. We also have to set the data format of the master data, especially an SKU, which should be formatted as an SKU. This is a vast amount of work that involves all departments. Second, I would consider the supply chain. Each function is highly dependent on another function. We still have a 1C:Accounting system, but it's not a system at all. With Business One, you have too much spare functionality. It doesn't create value for the business, but it creates a higher workload for employees in terms of payer processes, administration, development, etc. It's not easy. Because of how mature the organization is, there is less readiness for change. I would not consider this satisfactory. After working with Business One for a while, we are becoming more effective. However, we still have some issues involving business experts and even having a category of users like business process owners. We use almost all of Business One's functionality except maybe CRM. We don't yet use CRM. Also, we don't use forecasting because forecasting is internal in B1 forecasting. It only has two algorithms, which might not be enough for us. But it would be great to have more advanced forecasting functionality.
The solution could improve by providing HR payroll, quality control, and maintenance. These are the missing features which we have to use add-ons solutions to provide the functionality.
It is limiting in terms of the in-between communication for manufacturing. We are suffering from a lot of issues in production. We are now considering S/4HANA, and we are also looking for some customized tools to integrate with SAP Business One. It should have SCM and the payroll process for workers.
We aren't overly satisfied with the solution. We are moving away from it. The solution needs to be implemented properly, otherwise, a company will not be able to get the full benefit of the product. They need to do more with, budget planning within the solution, in terms of financial budgeting. Right now, we can only input values at our sales target, however, we can't input numbers. The solution also needs to look at the monthly balance. There will need to have some type of maintenance in there. Yet, there is no model for maintenance. If you buy it you need to go and find another solution for your maintenance however, if they can do a maintenance solution within this solution that that would be a wonderful thing.
@Bruce Asante I hope you were able to find a suitable alternative to B1. Please look this way as well: https://mondialsoftware.com/ as they could probably find what you are looking for in terms of customization and capability.

Our company is expanding to different countries, and business is growing. We feel that it is not good enough for the huge volume of the business. I would like to see some shortcuts. Sometimes, you find that you have used some ERPs and other systems that make use of external data from applications such as Excel. If you have some information in Excel and you want to easily customize it for entry for SAP then this is an area that is a problem. If you want to do this then it becomes difficult. I know that there are avenues where it can be done, but it becomes difficult. It is much more difficult when you compare it with what I have experienced with some other systems. I am not sure if it has an HR and Payroll functionality, but it would be helpful and make it a more complete ERP if they could put the HR and Payroll functionality in it.

If I compare it to bigger ERPs, I'd like to see some more time management options and maybe some better expense management features. In terms of business processes, the production could use improvement. There could be more maintenance fields. In some places, there are still many areas that could be enhanced.
There are possibilities to extend its functionality. Things such as Quality Management System (QMS) and Payroll are currently not a part of the product. These things are needed.
The billing functionality and the integration of one department to other departments are areas that need improvement. The price for AMC should be optional for those who do not use it. There is no dependency, the integration between the other applications. For example, if I implement any third party, the integration will be a little bit complex. The scalability of the data load and other aspects will also be complex. If you login to SAP S4HANA, it takes you a maximum of 20 seconds and with SAP Business One it will take a least one minute. Bandwidth needs improvement. I would like to see production integration included in the next release.
The SAP Business One application offers a way to manage your entire business – from accounting and financials, purchasing, inventory, sales and customer relationships, and project management, to operations and human resources. SAP Business One helps you to streamline processes, gain a greater insight into your business, so that you can act fast and make decisions based on real time information, to help you drive profitable growth.

Areas for improvement are the operating mechanisms, authorization of the production process, and sales cycle automation.

@AndriiBelinskyi for Financial Reporting Capabilities that addresses SAP B1 shortcomings. Please take a look at this one: https://mondialsoftware.com/
The installation process could be easier. They should have better tools to improve the effectiveness of the installation.
On-premises setup is not good enough for the overseas office. We have our onsite premises in Hong Kong, but we have a major sales office in the US. We are looking for a more efficient setup to fulfill our requirements and needs. It can have portals for vendors, suppliers, and customers. I know that they have this feature in version 10, but it still has space to improve.
@reviewer1518354 we might be able to help. https://mondialsoftware.com/ we can certainly help in fixing interoperability in multi-site, multi-company and multi-language setups. Please message me directly.
SAP could improve the performance of the business alignment with other products.
@Chaiwat Savatdichaipruk I'm with you on that. Maybe this can help https://mondialsoftware.com/.
It would be ideal if the reporting and dashboards were improved upon. There are some analytics that could be more robust and the business intelligence portion is lacking. There are some aspects that are lacking, meaning that clients need to go to third-party services in order to get viable results. The product does have some scalability limitations, depending on how you need to scale.
@reviewer1480536 if you need a solution that will protect your SAP B1 ERP system to help eliminate most of the issues please look here: mondialsoftware.com
The solution lacks ability to integrate with other tools.
We would like to see more options in terms of the product module. It requires more details for production because it is very basic. There are only a few standard reports available and if you want more then they either have to be downloaded or built. Having more standard reports available would be an improvement.
@reviewer1410804 mondialsoftware.com can help SAP B1 create the necessary type(s) of standard reporting in any type, ERP, language or location.
This product could be improved the most in the user interfaces. Most of the new generation users are looking for drag-and-drop functionality, which SAP does not have. Also the SAP WEB Browser access is limited to some functionalities. It would be better if a higher portion of the software is compatible with web browser.
@Erdem Okte mondialsoftware.com helps in that department. PLease have a look and kindly let us know what you think.
In the next release, I would like to see the inclusion of cloud features.
