Simulation engine boosts disaster recovery strategy with good support

Pros

"The simulation engine is highly valuable as it allows us to simulate what a failure would be like and generate reports. "

Cons

"We are looking forward to testing a feature that promises to allow us to host a workload directly from the backup appliance without rehydrating any items."

Covers a large spectrum of products and operating systems and part of a multi-layer strategy for data protection

Pros

"Its ability to cover a large spectrum of products and operating systems is invaluable. We evaluated other products but always found certain limitations like some products had only intel-based virtualization, while others had power servers."

Cons

"There is room for improvement in the implementation of Power servers. "

Stable, with good scalability potential, but needs a better user interface

Pros

"The backup and restore functions are very valuable aspects of the product."

Cons

"It's a little bit complex to manage. "

Efficient data recovery and replication features

Pros

"The most valuable feature is replication because, using NetBackup replication, we can have disaster recovery of the data we have."

Cons

"There is a big change in Veritas. In the past, we could easily change servers or appliances and continue working by restoring the catalog. We could change servers from Linux to Linux or Linux to Solaris and perform catalog restores to continue working. But with the new version, we are forced to engage Veritas' professional services, which is too expensive. "

Has a straightforward setup process and valuable data protection features

Pros

"Veritas NetBackup has significantly streamlined our backup and recovery processes by providing a single pane of view across various environments. "

Cons

"There could be granular control over metadata components, specifically in the context of JSON data for the product."
