Helped us tremendously in collaborating with each other and getting our work done and offers the breakout rooms feature.
We are a team located across various locations. Not in the same geographic location. We are distributed. And it's not possible to physically travel and meet people. Sometimes it's simply not possible. But Zoom has helped us tremendously in collaborating with each other and getting our work done. Without Zoom, it would have been very, very difficult. The breakout rooms feature is also helpful. For example, I have a meeting attended by hundreds of people and want to create subgroups. I typically use it for different role-play scenarios during training if we are trying to conduct some training on presentation skills. So there's a large group, which is initially trained by an instructor. Then you get instructions that the room will be split into smaller breakout rooms. I'll give you a topic, and you'll practice in these smaller groups. That's one way I use it. So it's like a simulation of a real brainstorming session I'd have in a physical space.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I like the share information function."
"Interesting collaboration features."
"It is very easy to jump from one communication channel to another one. It is pretty clear and very easy to do. That is the thing that I like the most from Avaya and their suite."
"We use the solution for team collaboration, document sharing, and video conferencing services. It integrates well with on-premises video conferencing systems and supports chatting through text messaging and instant messaging."
"I like Zoom because of the quality of the image and the resolution. Of course, I know that depends on the hardware you're using. But, still, the image and sound quality are excellent."
"This video conferencing product is easy to use."
"Primarily during the period of problematic travel, the solution enabled us to connect with customers, clients and even colleagues and to share our thoughts, ideas and information."
"The Mozilla extension is useful to schedule meetings."
"The solution is great it meets all of our needs, most people have the solution, and it is convenient to use."
"There is no installation, you can give someone a link to the chat and they can access the chat through the link."
"The ability to share graphics and visuals."
"The product is quite secure and you can use it remotely. I've never heard of there being any security issues."

Cons

"The installation could be more straightforward. I would like it to work with other meeting software in the next release."
"Avaya IX Meetings' deployment is complex."
"Increase in participant numbers reduces quality of video and sound."
"There isn't too much information about Avaya solutions and that could be very much improved. If you want some product support, you have to go through a business partner in Latin America and there aren't many partners."
"In the next release, I would like to see an easily accessible bandwidth feature so that you can see how much data you've used on a particular call."
"Additional end-user features like polling would be beneficial."
"Zoom should also include features like the automatic transcribing of conversations."
"I would like to see something like a virtual board or conference room where participants are seated around a virtual table, and pictures of them sitting on the chair or an avatar that the user can choose and control within that virtual world."
"I would like to see them develop end-to-end encryption, like WhatsApp. That would improve the security of the software."
"Zoom has frequent updates, occurring every week or twice a week. This poses a significant issue because sometimes when we attempt to initiate a call, the system begins an upgrade process, taking at least 30 seconds and sometimes up to two minutes. This unscheduled upgrade can be inconvenient for users, as they must wait for the update to complete."
"Zoom could improve by extending the one-hour maximum session time in the free version."
"The solution needs to have a feature that allows you to take over another person's screen. right now, that's not possible. This is important for our purposes due to the act that we are often using the solution to troubleshoot issues for our clients. If we could just take over their screen and go in and fix issues, it would make troubleshooting infinitely easier."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Avaya IX Meetings' licensing costs are monthly."
"I'm using a subscription. The price is reasonable. It costs about $20 a year."
"Zoom is a very cheaply priced video conferencing solution, and using this product has saved our business a lot of expense."
"The cost for Zoom is reasonable."
"The solution's pricing is good."
"As an organization, we are paying a license fee for Zoom. Personally, I use the free version."
"Zoom is free."
"There is some basic functionality that's free but if you want to host longer meetings and have more participants, then there is a licensing fee."
"Zoom is free."
"We have subscribed to a package for Zoom and it is a monthly payment."
