Offers seamless transition, integration capabilities of Azure Stack works well and scales easily
For hybrid cloud operations, the seamless transition it enables is key. Most enterprises have a lot of workloads on-premises, and they want a smooth way to move into the cloud. Some things are on-prem, and some things are on the cloud. Azure Stack bridges that gap with solutions that work well for their existing on-premises infrastructure.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"If a user wants to upgrade Office 365 from any of the packages, there is no disruption happening during migration, and the data is kept safe. There's no loss of data."
"One of the features I really appreciate is the Hybrid Cloud Extension UI."
"The most valuable thing about Azure Stack is that it provides a unified control panel for managing cloud services."
"It's a good and cost effective solution for any organization. We can deploy the tech solution on premises and also in the cloud."
"The best thing about this product is that it is user-friendly and intuitive."
"Azure Data Factory is a great solution for orchestration."
"The solution is pretty stable."
"The most valuable features are related to managing Kubernetes cluster nodes."
"Having a single pane of glass where you can have both your on-prem and anything else that you spin up within AWS is useful."
"We spent a year on this ASR project and had so many issues when we attempted to do a failover. It took four to 24 hours to failover a couple of SQL VMs. During our first test deployment of NC2, it only took three or four minutes to failover and recover our VMs. This blew the Microsoft platform out of the water."
"The license portability is good enough."
"Our previous solution was inconsistent and took a long time to recover. NC2 consistently delivers full disaster recovery in a few hours. That was a huge selling point. We need to know that our business can be up and running in hours, not days. We didn't have a real disaster recovery plan before NC2. That's a goal we've been trying to achieve, and Nutanix gives us what we need to make that a reality"
"It's easy to use, the UI is easy to configure, and it supports snapshots and backup integration."
"The overall infrastructure is the most valuable part of Nutanix Cloud Clusters."
"The most valuable feature is having the full features of my Nutanix on-premises applications in the cloud."
"The most valuable features of Nutanix Clusters are Prism Central, Micro-segmentation, and cluster scaling automation."

Cons

"The technical support team's response time needs improvement."
"The licensing model of Azure Stack is complicated."
"I would like to see better network integration."
"Azure Stack's pricing could be improved."
"One aspect that I consider a drawback is the cost associated with Azure Stack, as its deployment expenses tend to be on the higher side compared to other solutions."
"I feel that Azure Stack has so many different variables which are not very clear...In general, the initial setup phase of Azure Stack is an area with concern that needs improvement."
"I think the monitoring tools needs some improvement."
"The way this solution gives you steps to follow to remediate vulnerability is not very well done."
"I'd like more flexible options to get in and out of migration modes."
"Some of the interfaces aren't as intuitive as they should be."
"The product could be improved in scalability and support services."
"The biggest weakness with Clusters at this point is that the adoption rate is low because customers don't know enough about it."
"The speed of the answers could be improved in customer service and support."
"The pricing can be better."
"There are still some things that could be improved about the product."
"I don't have the expertise to build a hybrid cloud. We are starting to build one and haven't tried that part yet. I want to try because that is the most critical part for us. I want to see what, if anything, could be improved. The product is fantastic locally. Now, I want to try it in the cloud. My problem is not in the infrastructure; it is in the application, a different thing."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is not a cost-friendly solution."
"When comparing Azure to Amazon and Google, it appears that Azure offers the most cost-effective solution."
"The product is expensive, but it is fine for the value that the solution produces."
"The solution is expensive."
"The pricing is excellent with several options to save you time and money."
"The solution saves us money but is more costly than other products such as AWS."
"Azure is reasonably priced compared to Google Cloud, AWS, or some other cloud giants."
"The pricing is reasonable."
"The solution's licensing can be very pricey."
"The licensing portability can be very interesting. At the moment, I am working with Nutanix Appliances with the AHV as a hypervisor. I did not have a chance to ask for portability between platforms, but it will be good if you can have portability between multiple types of platforms."
"The price is high."
"I am working on one configuration that is priced at $50,000 USD, whereas another one that I'm working on is estimated to cost $250,000 USD."
"There are positives and negatives to licensing. It all makes sense now, but it took a while. When the licenses first changed, it was a bit confusing."
"I feel that the prices could be improved, but the truth is that I am very happy. The license price keeps increasing, but I am confident that it is much more reasonable than other brands."
"The licensing model of Nutanix is complex."
"The solution has been more costly at this point. We do not see any cost savings."
