Offers enhancement in data accuracy with low-code requirements and easy onboarding
It's a scalable product. In our organization, we sometimes write a script once and reuse it several times, which improves workflow efficiency. Our team inputs the datasets one by one or in a batch mode into BotFarm and schedules them or calls individually as needed. For instance, if one individual has 15 or 20 forms that need to be scanned and logged immediately, it's possible to implement with BotFarm and its scheduling operations. The solution is ideal for small and medium-sized enterprises and can fit in for large enterprises as well, depending upon the use case. For instance, if 100 agents are working across different locations through a mobile app, all the data from the agents can be stored in a common repository and scheduled. BotFarm can be configured based on the architecture and business operations.

Automates browsing tasks without needing a server connection
I have worked with Microsoft Power Platform and UiPath. Kofax RPA offers a comprehensive solution with built-in capabilities for executing tasks like running Excel files and web automation without additional servers. They provide their browsers and extensions. For functions such as OCR, image processing, and data extraction, Kofax has built-in features powered by their engine, eliminating the need for subscriptions to external technologies like Microsoft Cognitive Services or Google Search. One of Kofax RPA's strongest features is its on-premise solution, which is particularly beneficial for organizations operating in regions with data regulations, such as the UAE.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution is very stable. We don't have issues with bugs or glitches."
"From a solution standpoint, screen capture and tight integration with Outlook are valuable features."
"The most valuable feature is the rapid deployment of multiple bots."
"It is easy to use and very stable. It is a rugged product, and it doesn't break so easily."
"The system is stable and very little maintenance is required, assuming the bots process is perfectly designed."
"Productivity increased far more than thirty percent."
"BotFarm is an easy solution to use and the interface is better than older versions."
"Automation Anywhere has good document extraction features where it can learn patterns."
"Kofax RPA's best feature is its high success percentage in picking up information from documents, especially where the DPI is really low."
"It is very simple and easy to learn compared to any other RPA tools such as UiPath, Automation Anywhere and Blue Prism."
"The pricing of the solution is quite good."
"It is stable and scalable."
"Provides valuable tools working in integration with RPA tools."
"The product provides end-to-end solutions for different business problems."
"Kofax handles UIs via the browser well. If it's not possible, they have other features like modeling screen scrapes, etc."
"You can automate browsing tasks without needing a server connection. The platform provides its browser, allowing you to run anything inside it."

Cons

"The dashboard needs improvement. For Bot Farm, the visualization is not that good compared to the main Automation Anywhere dashboard."
"The stability needs to be improved."
"The deployment could be simplified."
"Normally we need to monitor the solution using an AWS console and the control room. We would like to have a standardized dashboard to see all the information in one place."
"One aspect that can be improved is the accessibility of reusable components for developers. It relates to role-based access and accessibility."
"The solution automation is incapable of interacting with our Pega software application development. It is based on the nested table concept and it is unable to read these tables. Several projects have been put on hold because of that."
"The new version is not very stable. Sometimes I can't use the recording sound."
"When somebody is just learning this product it can be difficult for them to understand, so improvements to the user interface would be helpful."
"Kofax RPA could improve web-based automation and there should be a choice of what browser we can use, such as Google Chrome, instead of an inbuilt browser from Kofax RPA. Additionally, Kofax RPA is missing an orchestrator that other solutions have, such as UiPath."
"This product has room for improvement in support of aviation. The interface could be improved in the next release."
"I would like to see them further enhance the OCR, specifically in the multi-language support."
"We've faced a few challenges with Tungsten RPA. One issue I recall was with sending emails that needed multiple attachments. At the time, the feature only allowed attaching one file at a time. We discussed this with Tungsten RPA, and they planned to add multi-attachment capability to their backlog. I'm not sure if it's been upgraded since then. The solution's desktop automation is tricker."
"There is really nothing special about the capabilities of this product."
"Exception handling needs to be improved."
"Kofax RPA needs to improve integration with SAP and Microsoft. The professional services offered by the tool's team is below par. Its licensing needs to be more modular."
"We are on version 10.6, and the current version seems to be 11. Kofax is cycling the capabilities of the product very quickly. One of the difficulties has been to actually keep up with the capabilities as they've evolved. On the one hand, it is good that the product is getting better, but on the other hand, it is difficult to implement the best way with a product that is evolving constantly."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Licenses are paid on a yearly basis and the cost is quite high."
"Our licensing costs are approximately $3,000 USD annually."
"The starter price is free."
"Pricing for this solution can be better."
"The license of this solution is on an annual basis. The price is fair. However, what we did initially was a POC, but now we are looking at moving from a POC to expanding it out further. I would appreciate some kind of discount."
"I am very happy with the pricing."
"The product is slightly expensive"
"We are on an annual license for the solution and is priced well."
"There is a standard license needed to use Kofax RPA and the price is reasonable."
"I give the price of the solution a six out of ten."
"The solution’s license is not expensive."
"The normal price for an on-premises license is €50,000. That's the price for one robot license. You can have more than one robot license but only one can be run at any one time. I believe the cost of adding a second robot is around €14,000."
"Kofax RPA's licensing costs are yearly and expensive."
"Price is not a problem, because they are a competitor and we have a special rate."
"The pricing model for automation solutions like Automation Anywhere, UiPath, and Microsoft Power Platform is subscription-based, where costs are calculated based on factors such as the number of hours used and the scale of automation required.......With Kofax, you purchase a license upfront, and that's all you need. You can create as many automation workflows as you require without additional costs for individual use cases."
"I don't have complete insight at this point in time, but I would guess that Kofax is a lot less expensive than Automation Anywhere. I would expect its license to be on a yearly basis."
