Everything has worked better since we started using it
Sometimes the syncing is inconsistent. I'm confident that the devices are checking in every eight hours, but sometimes the devices aren't picking up the settings as quickly as I would expect. Some features haven't been updated in a while, and Microsoft doesn't seem interested in developing them. Unless you talk to an engineer, you don't know whether there will be an update. There are communication issues, so you might start working with a feature without knowing if it will be deprecated six months from now. Some reporting areas still need development. For example, I noticed that the reporting for driver updates is still confusing.

Remote administration is enabled with secure and user-friendly access
The main purpose of the product is for firewall purposes that we are using, and the VPN provides secure access for remote connections. It adds simplicity, as the solution is simple enough, with an easy interface. The functionality enables secure access for remotely connecting users, which is necessary for our operations.
Binish Parikh - PeerSpot reviewer
Easy-to-deploy and good for small as well as large setups
There is room for improvement in the pricing policy. The price point is pretty aggressive. Since it is not very resource hungry, it doesn't require dedicated servers like high-end solutions do, so it's easier for customers to integrate it into their own solutions. In future releases, maybe more support for Macs and Unix so that customers with setups on those platforms can also benefit from the solutions.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I like how Intune deploys the policies and makes them customizable. You can deploy it through Intune and forget about it."
"The stability of Microsoft Intune is ten out of ten."
"It is very easy to use. It has a very easy interface."
"There are no complaints about the stability. It works one hundred percent of the time."
"The initial setup is not complex."
"Intune's integration with Defender and other security solutions is valuable because it offers a view into different security vulnerabilities and enables us to secure them more effectively."
"One of the biggest advantages of Microsoft Intune is that it brings the management of Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and even Linux under a single pane of glass."
"We can manage and standardize security across your environment, identify problems, receive alerts, and so on. That's its purpose, and that's also why it's so good."
"The clients of the customers have a facility to access the enterprise network."
"The secure hotspot access for enabling good network connectivity is great."
"The biggest advantage of Check Point Remote Access VPN is that we already use the Check Point firewall. We only needed to enable the feature and do the configuration in order to enable the VPN feature. We didn't need to buy or manage new hardware."
"The tool is easy to configure and use. We integrated it with Active Directory to manage user authentication. It's intuitive and transparent, making it simple for users to use. It connects automatically to the VPN whenever users turn on the laptop. The product is efficient and offers centralized control."
"Access is browser-based only and requires no additional client installation."
"Check Point Remote Access VPN provides strong security features, including encryption, authentication, endpoint security, access control, and centralized management."
"Thanks to all these security processes, our users can access our infrastructure with the certainty that we will not be compromised."
"One feature that is highly valued by our clients in remote access VPN is the IPsec suite. With IPsec, we can encrypt our data, ensuring that no one can perform a man-in-the-middle attack or decrypt the data. It utilizes powerful mathematical calculations and end-to-end encryption, preventing hacking attempts."
"We don't have problems with stability. Everything is good."
"It's great that the total deployment can happen completely remotely."
"Parallels Access has flexible licensing policies, which is beneficial for customers who have intermittent usage or users who are on and off the system."
"Parallels Access gives me full access and control of the computer, and I can do anything I want remotely."
"It's got a very easy-to-use interface."

Cons

"We faced issues with macOS support. The product should have better inventory and asset management."
"There should be more support for macOS. Even though macOS is supported by Intune and Microsoft is working very hard to get more features into Intune to manage macOS, that's one thing they can give a lot more attention to."
"The reporting could be improved, as it's pretty poor compared to other products of this type."
"Reporting needs improvement."
"The reporting causes problems because we're trying to gather data to present to the management, but we can't get the data they request. If a user has removed an application from his device, but it won't report it at exactly the right time. It takes time to sync from the device to the portal. Let's say we are preparing a list or deck for the number of compliant devices that meet all of the organization's requirements. In a real-time scenario, that device could be compliant, but it is showing as non-compliant on the portal. It sometimes hampers the overall decisions that we make on our end."
"There is room for improvement, particularly in terms of compatibility, extending beyond the well-known major brands."
"Sometimes, customers compare it with AirWatch, but the concept of Intune is different from other solutions. It's an application management app. It gets a bit difficult to explain it to customers, but it's not a product limitation. It takes a presale document or presentation to explain it to customers."
"The pricing can be expensive if you are not combining it with other products."
"The authentication that we handle is through a .p12 certificate, however, we have integrated it with a 2MFA service through another provider. Something that could improve Check Point is if it had its own 2MFA service through a blade or some sort of application."
"In an environment with multiple cluster checkpoints, the global properties common to all clusters in some cases give problems."
"The knowledge base can be improved for advanced troubleshooting."
"The Linux version may have an app (similar to Windows) instead of a shell script."
"There is always room for innovation and the addition of new features."
"Bug Fixes and enhancement requests should be remediated earlier."
"Sometimes it causes the consumption of machine resources, and also improves the scanning since they consume many resources in the clients' machines."
"The main feature that would be improved within Check Point Remote Access is its operation within Linux OS, as it currently does not have many features for that OS."
"They could improve the reporting."
"One challenge we do notice is that the application is limited to Windows servers only. If a customer has a Linux server, things get complicated. They should open it up a bit to be more compatible with different types of servers."
"The solution may not scale well for enterprises."
"When you want to transfer a file from your iPad or remote device to the computer, the copy-and-paste feature doesn't always work."
"There is room for improvement in the pricing policy. The price point is pretty aggressive."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The clients pay for a license and each can have a different type of license, such as an E3 or E5."
"Intune is moderately expensive. You can get the license bundled with Office 365 E3 or E5 licenses. The E5s are a bit expensive, but you get some cheaper solutions with Intune."
"This cost is approximately $30 USD per user per month."
"Intune's pricing is reasonable considering its benefits and the high costs it helps avoid."
"The price of Intune is included with the license for Office 365, so we don't have to pay anything extra for it."
"Intune's pricing is competitive. For example, the license of Blackberry's Enterprise Mobility Suite was costly, but Intune is affordable. It is included as an additional feature when you buy security enhancements for your organization. For example, let's say I have fifty users in my organization and all of them are using Microsoft cloud services, like Teams, Office 365, and OneDrive."
"Microsoft Intune has a user-based subscription model. You can go for a monthly or a yearly payment."
"If you ask the accountant or the finance department, they'll tell you that it is way too expensive, but when I look at the cost and compare it with the value you actually get, it's more than fair."
"My company makes yearly payments only towards the licensing costs attached to Check Point Remote Access VPN, as there are no extra costs attached to the product."
"The product is expensive. I rate its pricing a ten out of ten. For the cost of one product, we could purchase two or three Fortinet solutions with the same amount of money."
"My understanding is that the pricing and licensing are very competitive, and it's not one of their more expensive products. We buy licenses for the solution and have licenses for the endpoint servers."
"Organizations that already have the Check Point NGFW need to purchase an additional license to have access to the VPN functionality."
"The price of this product is good."
"The solution is pretty expensive. The rating is an eight."
"I can say that the licensing costs are charged annually."
"There is a license required for this solution."
"The licensing costs are about $100 per user."
