Automatic update feature could be better and multi-layered protection capability needs enhancement
The platform's ability to update the database from my device and manage user profiles is quite effective. It also provides web threat protection by blocking unwanted websites. It provides multi-layered protection. Although it could be more efficient, it is sufficient for regular purposes. I would not recommend it based on my experience. I rate it a three out of ten.
YusufAhmed - PeerSpot reviewer
Easy to use and competitively priced
Honestly, the product needs to continue the way it is, and I feel that everything will be fine. I haven't had any reasons to complain about the product. The product doesn’t offer MDM functionality under its current licensing model. In the future, I want the product to offer MDM. It can allow me to manage my mobile device more efficiently and effectively. Currently, there is a need for a separate license to be added to Symantec Endpoint Detection and Response to be able to use the MDM part. If both are bundled up under the same license, the administration part can be made easier.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable component of the solution is the malware detection feature."
"The product works perfectly to prevent malware in our organization."
"Kaspersky Endpoint Security Cloud is a very good solution for endpoint protection."
"It is a powerful tool for zero-day attack prevention."
"Kaspersky has a Cloud Discovery feature. There is no template in Kaspersky. They provide a temporary risk assessment of the cloud services. For example, if we want to block public storage services like OneDrive or Google Drive, we need to specify each individually. The main difference is that Kaspersky's process takes more time because it requires individual input."
"We had the cloud suite of KasperskyEndpoint Security Cloud, and its monitoring was fine."
"The platform's ability to update the database from my device and manage user profiles is quite effective."
"In Kaspersky Endpoint Security Cloud, anti-phishing and anti-malware are two very powerful aspects."
"The most valuable feature is that the same agent can act as the endpoint detection and response agent."
"In Symantec, we have found that the most important feature is Application and Device Control."
"It is mostly used for malware detection and antivirus purposes."
"I like Symantec EDR's device control and USB security features."
"It is very simple to use."
"The security is good."
"There are times when Symantec Endpoint Detection and Response tags an executable as malicious when it is trying to get executed on the machine. In this case, it prevents the execution and it gives you a process view of things where you can look into what has happened and whether it is a genuine process trying to access some system activities, or it's a malicious one. Depending upon the process, it gives you a clear identification, and we can do the containment from the interface itself and isolate the machine from the network. The process review on network isolation is good."
"The most valuable features of the solution are that it is easy to use and has good support."

Cons

"Its high CPU usage also slows down devices, particularly those with lower specifications like Core i3."
"Kaspersky's global ranking has been on the decline."
"It requires specific expertise or certified professionals to deploy the product. There is a need to expand the offerings to various industries covering different-sized businesses."
"Certain shortcomings in the anti-ransomware part of the solution need improvement. XDR and MDR, along with threat hunting, a big step in cybersecurity today, need improvement."
"Sometimes, the tool consumes a lot of resources from the endpoints, making it an area of concern where improvements are required since it currently consumes a little bit of RAM."
"Kaspersky's cloud solution should be improved because the on-premises features are unavailable in the cloud."
"Kaspersky doesn't provide local support."
"One area where the product could be improved is in its delivery and installation process."
"They need to improve their cloud presence."
"Its UI could be more user-friendly."
"The interface is very complicated."
"The product doesn’t offer MDM functionality under its current licensing model."
"It should be easier to deploy Symantec's client for end-users."
"The solution needs to provide better integration."
"It would be good if it can anticipate zero-day attacks. I don't know how it can be done and if it is even a feature of this product."
"A significant deterioration in customer support."
