For organizations using cloud-based applications, the need for better integration with cloud servers is essential. While Arcserve UDP is effective and cost-efficient, additional expenses might be required for full compatibility with diverse cloud environments. I'd rate the solution seven out of ten.
Data verification is based on two storage systems with the feature to replicate. However, this feature is specific to this kind of solution and architecture; each site requires equivalent data storage, including a prespill site and a verification site. Arcserve UDP is hardware agnostic, making it versatile and suitable for countries like Brazil, where cost-effectiveness is crucial. Additionally, software implementation has no costs, making it a highly interesting solution. You should have some people with expertise in networking or related factors in virtual machines, ERC, and others certified as Azure professionals. Two or three engineers are required for the solution's maintenance. Backup and its necessity vary depending on the importance of clients' data. We cater to a diverse range of clients, including supermarkets, hospitals, and insurance companies, so the significance of the solution varies accordingly. We aim to ensure that the company never has to resort to using the solution in the event of a disaster. The solution is resilient, comfortable, and guarantees a good experience over a long period of time. Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.

Test it extensively! Use their evaluation system, try different scenarios, simulate recoveries, and see how it performs in your specific environment. They have trial licenses and programs where they supply test hardware if it's a hardware-dedicated solution. Don't just buy based on information from a reseller or online material. Test it thoroughly. That's my advice. Overall, I would rate the solution a six out of ten.
The tool's disaster recovery and business continuity for our clients are enhanced considering how Arcserve has taken over a product called StorageCraft that has a toll called ShadowProtect SPX, which is a wonderful solution for disaster recovery. It is possible to recover servers within seconds or minutes with the help of ShadowProtect SPX. My company's clients use Arcserve UDP for cross-platform data protection since it can be operated on both Linux and Windows. Arcserve UDP provides deduplication features, but StorageCraft ShadowProtect SPX does not offer deduplication functionalities. StorageCraft ShadowProtect SPX's technology does not require deduplication features as it provides users with continuous incremental backup. The product's cloud integration capabilities are okay. The use of continuous backup technology every 15 minutes to maintain a backup for servers, after which the file that gets created in a few KBs is sent to the cloud with the help of another feature called replication. It is possible to simultaneously backup data to not only one destination but to a number of destinations. Backup to a local disk, backup to the cloud, or backup in a remote office or destination are all the facilities that are providers in the product. Backup to the cloud is a very easy task, and with the technology that the tool offers, you can restore your server with the backup file, and it allows you to migrate from a local data center to the cloud within minutes. If any incident involving some disaster happens in your office, you can immediately start your office over the cloud. I am a certified engineer myself, and whenever there is a requirement from anyone for some ordinary support related to the product, I am able to handle 90 percent of the problems. At times, I require extra time to deal with some configurations. I rate the overall tool a seven out of ten.

Arcserve UDP can be used in a simple environment in most cases. I have a technical background, but I can say that Arcserve doesn't have any proper videos for its new users. If you want to install Veeam, there are plenty of videos related to how to install Veeam. If I want to add a data store or some ESXi in Arcserve, I can't find any videos to help me with the same on YouTube. In general, there are no online materials for learning about the product, which might not be helpful for the implementation engineers, but in our company, we need some straightforward online video materials about the product to help us with our pre-sales. I rate the overall product a seven out of ten.
Apart from backup, we have 12 customers on the hyper-converged solutions. We have a total of 32 customers. Three engineers can manage the hyper-converged backup replication. We are also acquiring more and more customers. The market and economy have opened up, and COVID is behind us. We are a three-year-old organization, and out of three years, we were two years under COVID. In the last one and a half years, we have been able to acquire 32 customers. Arcserve is pretty flexible in terms of POC. It's a good idea to test it out and see the benefits. We'll find most of the benefits a backup recovery solution should offer. It has backup, recovery in time, replication, and recovery off-site. It has got complete functionality. The tool needs to improve its pricing. Overall, I would rate the solution an eight out of ten.

I recommend the solution to others. If you want an entry-level backup for your on-premises servers, it is a suitable solution. I rate it a seven out of ten.
I recommend StorageCraft ShadowProtect to others because it's a very fast backup solution, quick one-file recovery, and the price is reasonable. However, for people who need backup servers and desktops, there is not a central console, it has to be done separately. I rate StorageCraft ShadowProtect a nine out of ten.

ShadowXafe is the new software they have developed, that they have been focusing on it for the past couple of years. ShadowProtect is the older software. I worked at StorageCraft for seven years. I was responsible for their technical sales. I am familiar with their products, as well as their competition. I was on my own for almost five years, using their product and others to do backup recovery as a service for businesses. I use StorageCraft as well as some other vendors to fill in the gaps where they're weak. Because my job at the end of the day is to do a restore for companies. I resell items, but mostly just implement, and manage their service. In most cases, I pay a monthly fee for whatever software we use. We still have customers and use StorageCraft. We started using ShadowXafe, but it nearly destroyed my business. For older customers with older products, I reverted to the older version, and Beam for a few others. If I had to rate ShadowXafe, I would say a two out of ten. I would rate StorageCraft ShadowProtect an eight out of ten.
Arcserve UDP is a comprehensive solution that empowers even a one-person IT department to protect virtual and physical environments with a high degree of simplicity. It allows you to design and manage your entire data protection strategy with a unified management console, and enables you to scale your data backup coverage as your organization grows with the push of a button.
