As a system integrator, we utilize the product.
According to client requirements, we use Ruckus Cloudpath. If clients prefer cloud, we provide cloud solutions. If they prefer on-premises, we implement on-premises solutions.
I am using the certificate-based security feature in the product.
The certificate-based security feature helps clients understand what Ruckus Cloudpath can do. Whether cloud or on-premises is used is defined by the clients. They are knowledgeable about the products, so minimal explanation is required.
Policy management tools in Ruckus Cloudpath are performing adequately. The integration of Ruckus Cloudpath with our infrastructure is very user-friendly, as the software is becoming more intelligent.
It is becoming more intelligent because it is easier to install and implement. Managing IoT devices within a network environment has improved compared to previous versions. The software is more intelligent now, with AI features integrated into their management system.
The MMS portion is the best feature in Ruckus Cloudpath, as they can monitor the entire network intelligently with AI features that simplify the troubleshooting processes.
The main disadvantage is the price, as it is primarily a cost issue. The new version coming out, R1, is yet to be seen, though currently, it is running very efficiently.
The biggest challenges are pricing and the upcoming version. There is still room for improvement, which is reflected in the rating of seven or eight.
I have been using it for two to three years.
The solution is stable, without significant problems such as glitches or latency.
Scalability is adequate and meets requirements.
Technical support from Ruckus is satisfactory. They maintain a local presence and continue to support us through their technical support team.
I would rate the support as eight out of ten.
Positive
Installation of Ruckus Cloudpath is straightforward without any major issues.
There is observable ROI in Ruckus Cloudpath, though it depends on the numbers. With on-premises and cloud options, certain scenarios make cloud more expensive while on-premises becomes cheaper. However, if numbers exceed certain thresholds, on-premises can become more expensive.
Ruckus Cloudpath is performing better than other vendors currently and remains quite compatible. Other vendors have their own cloud-based management systems which are also competitive.
In terms of functionality, all vendors are moving in the same direction. While different brands exist, the features are very similar. The main differentiator is pricing, with varying levels of expense across different solutions.
The MMS portion is the key advantage, enabling intelligent network monitoring with AI features that streamline troubleshooting processes. The main challenges remain pricing and the upcoming version.
Based on my experience, I rate Ruckus Cloudpath an 8 out of 10.
We are already using Ruckus. We are using Ruckus Management Center and the access points only, not the networking devices or switches. We deployed Ruckus Cloudpath approximately three months ago and are currently testing it.
It was easy to integrate Ruckus Cloudpath with our existing network infrastructure. The distributor made the initial configurations and explained how to use them, and we are also receiving support from Ruckus Turkey. The learning curve of Ruckus is easier compared to similar products from HP in terms of UI. Once set up, it requires minimal intervention beyond monitoring.
There are some differences between competitors' products and Ruckus Cloudpath. In my business, I can manage those differences. Ruckus Cloudpath is not well known in my region, and I think it should be promoted more.
Three months.
My experience has been positive thus far with no problems yet, but I have not seen it operating under full load.
We have not experienced scalability issues yet because we still need to change some other security parameters in our network. We want to harden the security layer.
I would rate the technical support from Ruckus as nine out of ten. This high rating is partly because we have a deep and very long relationship with Ruckus. We have been using their products for more than ten years, and I have direct access to the Ruckus Turkey manager and also the Middle East region manager, Mr. Olivia. I can directly contact them and they respond to me as soon as possible. I am very satisfied with Ruckus products.
Positive
I worked with similar products from HP before Ruckus Cloudpath. There is a similar approach between HP and Ruckus Cloudpath. Ruckus is easier to use in terms of UI. Eventually, you learn both products. The learning curve of Ruckus is easier. The initial phase is not significantly different between vendors.
I have not yet tested Ruckus Cloudpath's policy management tools. I would not recommend Ruckus Cloudpath to others for now, at least not for a couple of years. I gave this review an overall rating of nine.
I use Ruckus Cloudpath to handle all our APIs in our school. We currently have around 700 users, and it helps manage network scaling and user growth within our infrastructure.
Ruckus Cloudpath is effective for network security since it points out errors, especially when working with APIs. It is a good product, and I use it for its network management features.
There is room for improvement in deployment. I would like to see more effort put into troubleshooting.
I have been using Ruckus Cloudpath for around two years.
Ruckus Cloudpath is very stable. I would rate it eight or nine on a scale of one to ten.
Ruckus Cloudpath is a scalable service, and I would rate its scalability as eight on a scale of one to ten.
Ruckus customer service is very good and helpful. While I was not directly involved, I understand that they have been really helpful.
Neutral
Before using Ruckus Cloudpath, I worked with Ubiquiti and Cisco.
The initial setup of Ruckus Cloudpath was smooth and easy. It does not require the installation of any client or agent, which simplifies the process.
We are doing the maintenance ourselves, usually involving one or two engineers for tasks like fixing access points.
Ruckus Cloudpath is pretty expensive, and I have not experienced any significant cost reductions or monetary savings. However, it does its job effectively.
Ruckus Cloudpath is a bit above medium in terms of pricing.
On a scale of one to ten, I rate it a seven.
I am also using Ubiquiti and Cisco in another place where I work.
I would recommend Ruckus Cloudpath to others because it is a good product, despite being expensive. I rate the overall solution as seven out of ten.
The Ruckus Cloudpath product performs well, especially with its single plane of authentication capabilities.
The solution, while effective, is somewhat complex with initial deployment challenges.
The Ruckus company commitment is very poor. They are giving projects to other companies, which has caused us to seriously consider whether to continue with Ruckus Cloudpath or not. I have already lost one project because of this.
The solution is not user-friendly, and the deployment system itself is quite complicated.
The solution is very expensive and not affordable for many customers.
We have been working with Ruckus Cloudpath for approximately eight years.
The deployment is quite difficult and complicated. There is significant initial complexity in the deployment process.
The stability of the solution is good.
The scalability of the solution is good.
The Ruckus company commitment is very poor. They are moving forward by giving business to other companies.
Positive
We serve as the system integrator for this solution.
Based on customer requirements, we use various solutions including WhatsUp Gold, ManageEngine, and UniBox.
The overall rating for this solution is 6 out of 10.

Our primary use case for Ruckus Cloudpath is within the hospitality industry and educational institutions, such as large hotels and universities. We implemented the solution in the infrastructure to provide services to customers and students. Specifically, we use it in premises like student labs and hotel lobbies for customers and in meeting rooms.
The most valuable features of Ruckus Cloudpath include its long-range capabilities, smooth and uninterrupted service, and reliability. Additionally, the multi-factor authentication feature is beneficial for securing network access. The solution provides powerful encryption, a secure wireless network connection through WPA enterprise connection, and advanced security tools.
Ruckus Cloudpath needs more API features and enhanced automation capabilities. I would like to improve the automation aspect, ensuring that if any issues arise or alerts are detected, the cloud platform can respond and troubleshoot more effectively, offering additional insights without requiring manual intervention.
I have been working with Ruckus Cloudpath for three years.
I find Ruckus Cloudpath to be very stable. I would rate the stability as nine out of ten.
Ruckus Cloudpath is a scalable product. I would rate its scalability level as eight out of ten.
I would rate the technical support from Ruckus as eight out of ten.
Positive
The initial setup of Ruckus Cloudpath was easy, and I would rate it as a nine out of ten, with ten being the easiest.
The pricing of Ruckus Cloudpath is on the expensive side. I would rate the pricing as an eight out of ten, with ten being very expensive.
When considering Ruckus Cloudpath overall, I rate it as an eight out of ten.

We installed Ruckus to control the wireless devices, access control, and the doors in hotels. The hotel doors were managed by Ruckus Wi-Fi and wireless devices, integrating all these systems.
The wireless devices are used to control access, transmit messages, and integrate with the main system. Messages during checkouts are passed through the Ruckus Wi-Fi wireless devices, which are integrated with the primary hotel system. I have found it easy to use with no significant issues once the small initial problems were resolved.
The system has been in place for nearly one year.
It is stable, with no reported issues.
The setup had a few initial small problems, however, everything was resolved and it is very good now.
I served as a consultant for the project. My contractor was in contact with the supplier, which involved addressing a couple of issues, though the integration was ultimately successful.
I would rate the solution as eight out of ten.
Overall, the integration was good, and despite some small problems initially, it was resolved quickly.

At the moment, we have multiple drilling units, with users utilizing Ruckus Cloudpath alongside DPSKs. The process involves creating external DPSKs from our SmartZone because SmartZone imposes a limit of 3,000 DPSKs. The recent implementation primarily focuses on users employing DPSKs. This enables us to restrict the number of devices connected to a specific password. DPSKs are dynamic and unique to each user.
Ruckus Cloudpath is predominantly utilized for onboarding corporate environments. It involves certificate-based authentication. Customers can use their Active Directory cloud for certificates. Once validated, users receive a certificate containing all the credentials and device information. This means that the next time they log onto the Wi-Fi, they are already authenticated.
The tool's most valuable features include the phenomenal functionality of DPSK. The ease of use, particularly when it is correctly set up, is remarkably simple. Tracking users is straightforward and dynamic. This allows us to identify where a user might encounter issues within the process.
Its most valuable feature is CA certification. You cannot get access without this. The tool's device policy enforcement feature has had a positive impact on customer network security. Customers are now more at ease, knowing that their employees connect to a secure network, and unauthorized individuals cannot easily access the corporate network. Overall, it has positively influenced their security measures.
The user experience when connecting to networks via Ruckus Cloudpath is seamless. I would highly recommend it to anyone in need of an onboarding system for multiple users. Whether you want to move away from the standard connection, Active Directory, or even free keys, it is a reliable choice. Additionally, the product's licensing is user-based, not device-based. This means that regardless of the number of devices, the licensing is per-user.
The tool needs to support multi-vendor environments. Currently, my experience with it has been primarily within Ruckus environments. However, I haven't explored it for multi-vendor scenarios. It would be great to see newer builds that are multi-vendor capable of full integration.
It should also enhance the logging capability to pull more in-depth logs for certain functionalities.
I have been using the product for six years.
I would rate the product's stability a perfect ten out of ten. I have not encountered any instances of instability where the server goes down or any functionality stops working.
I would rate the tool's scalability around seven or eight on a scale of one to ten. We currently have three customers using Ruckus Cloudpath, and the number of users varies. For the active deployments, one customer is expected to have over 13,000 users, while the other is looking at about 4,000 users. We are also in the process of onboarding another customer, but the user count for that deployment will be comparatively lower.
Ruckus support stands out as one of the best compared to any vendor I've worked with before. I have experienced situations where I could log a P1 for a network issue, and within fifteen minutes, an engineer was on a call addressing and resolving the problem.
Positive
I rate the tool's setup a five to six out of ten. Complexities are mostly from CA certification and LDAP integration, but these are usually managed on end-user firewalls or security systems, causing data from Ruckus Cloudpath to be blocked. Setting up Ruckus Cloudpath is not as straightforward as just clicking a few buttons. However, I can attest that configuring Ruckus Cloudpath hosted by it is much easier to set up, and I would rate it around eight out of ten. On-premises installation, on the other hand, presents more challenges.
I primarily work with Ruckus Cloudpath and have experience with Azure. However, it's important to note that Ruckus Cloudpath functions differently compared to Azure. Ruckus Cloudpath is a cloud-hosted control solution, while Azure is a cloud platform.
Deployment time for Ruckus Cloudpath depends on the customer's specific requirements. Generally, for an on-premise deployment, it typically takes around two days of professional services. While it can potentially be done within a day, I would suggest two days.
The deployment process differs between on-premise and cloud instances. For the cloud, you contact Ruckus, provide the requirements, and they allocate a cloud instance for you. Then you proceed with the setup. On-premise deployment begins with obtaining a virtual machine host, either VMware or Hyper-V. Once you have the host, you deploy the image, initiate the setup, assign an IP address, and proceed with the full setup. After this, you can start configuring Ruckus Cloudpath.
I would rate the tool's pricing as a seven on a scale of one to ten. Compared to others, it's not overly expensive, but it does come with a cost. Since it's a licensed-based product, it can become expensive, especially if there is a need for additional licenses.
The licensing costs are yearly, and the exact amount depends on the size of the deployment. You pay per user, and the cost is determined by Ruckus Cloudpath based on the size of the deployment. The larger the deployment, the smaller the cost per user.
Customers with BYOD policies can implement it through social media logins, token-based authentication, or DPSK. When users access the network as guests or with BYOD, they have the option to authenticate against Active Directory. However, it's important to note that in this case, users are authenticated against AD but do not receive a certificate.
Integrating guest access through the product has been a fairly simple process. We have options for guest access, DPSK access, and social media access. Guests can request and receive a pre-shared key from a set of administrators. Social media integration is particularly convenient, as it allows integration with platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Microsoft, which is a current project I'm working on with one of our customers.
Our customers are enterprise businesses. I would advise thoroughly understanding customer requirements and conducting research for the most suitable implementation. Utilize the workflows provided by Ruckus Cloudpath instead of opting for standard onboarding. When deploying it, ensure that firewall rules are properly configured and open on your firewall, as firewall issues can significantly delay deployments.
I rate the overall product a seven out of ten.
The common use case for Ruckus Cloudpath is that we focus on using it for education, as it's very good for authenticating the employees, teachers, and staff to the system, making it a very great solution for onboarding customers to the Wi-Fi and controlling and managing access to the network.
The best features of Ruckus Cloudpath include the deep integration with the education system, the Eduroam, and the ease of creating workflows to manage each authentication process separately, allowing me to create a separate workflow for employees, guests, and students while being flexible in adjusting the policy.
The enhanced guest access capabilities have been beneficial to my organization as we can separate guests on a different network and control their access using tokens or pre-generated vouchers, SMS authentication tokens, and the captive portal already implemented inside the Ruckus Cloudpath. Using this captive portal, I can generate self-onboarding for guests or use the BYOD for staff and employees or students.
The user interface of Ruckus Cloudpath needs some enhancement along with the support process, requiring more qualified engineers to support this product.
The pricing of Ruckus Cloudpath needs a little bit of adjustment to be reduced.
My experience with Ruckus Cloudpath is about eight years.
The initial setup of Ruckus Cloudpath is not straightforward, as it requires technical experience. It falls more on the complex side.
It is a stable solution.
Ruckus Cloudpath is a scalable solution.
When it comes to technical support for Ruckus Cloudpath, I would rate it around five or six maximum on a scale of one to ten.
Neutral
The initial setup of Ruckus Cloudpath is not straightforward, as it requires technical experience.
From my perspective, I see a high return on investment with Ruckus Cloudpath for big education institutions such as universities and schools. For a big organization, there is a high level of ROI with Ruckus Cloudpath, but when it comes to smaller organizations, it yields less ROI as it takes some time because it's not cheap, and there are customers for whom it isn't a great fit.
The advanced analytics and reporting functionalities are actually a separate feature not related to Ruckus Cloudpath, as Ruckus Analytics and Ruckus AI handle this, making them a different product. Ruckus Cloudpath is used only for onboarding users, authentication, and acting as network access or admission control for users, while Ruckus AI and Ruckus Analytics are distinct.
My advice for people looking into using Ruckus Cloudpath is to set the expectation right regarding what they expect to get from this solution, as it doesn't fit every scenario. If I'm in education, it will be nice, but if I'm focusing on guests or someone coming from abroad, it's not the best solution since it doesn't fit hospitality or real estate well, but it is good for education and business complexes.
I rate Ruckus Cloudpath eight out of ten.
Our company is the only distributor in Pakistan and we integrate the solution for customers. We are in the middle of our first deployment at a university.
The solution has good features for authentication and policies.
Users can self-provision devices for network access via their logins.
The setup process is a bit complex.
I have been using the solution for eight months.
The solution is stable and meets our customer's requirements.
The solution is scalable and intended for enterprise environments with hundreds of users.
Our customer is a university where there are different property numbers and departments. Implementation includes giving users internet access to run different applications or services.
We are satisfied with technical support.
We are in Pakistan and support is in the US or UK so we have to work around the time differences.
The setup process is a bit complex. This is our first use case so we have experienced a few issues getting to deployment.
The pricing is a little bit high.
We also use Aruba and Cisco depending on use case but like the solution the best.
I rate the solution an eight out of ten.
We have it in this large school. It's a private school that goes from kindergarten through 12th grade. It's the whole lower school system all the way through 12 grade leading to college. They liked the fact that, first of all, they weren't big Cisco fans. They did like Brocade and Ruckus products and it was in their price range, even though they had a pretty big budget. A lot of schools are really tight with their IT, especially private schools.
It just fits their needs too. They have multiple sites within the same campus. They had two to four buildings plus an incredible field hockey field with blue AstroTurf, which was amazing. They can connect to everything.
Customer just contacted me with his thoughts:
"We just started with CloudPath this year and the process went very well. I would highly recommend using their white glove service, it made the entire process seamless. The peace of mind gained by adding better security is huge."
For the client, it does what the client needed it to do and they didn't feel like there's any compromises.
The coverage is good.
Ruckus technical support is very good and helpful whenever we need them.
The hardest part we've had to deal with is trying to find some physical product recently as everything is going like hotcakes. They were selling out so fast we had to get a different model than the original one, as they didn't have any POE switches. We had to get a regular 24 port and get a separate daughter POE switch just because they didn't have any available. Sometimes the allocation is a little bit laggy, however, any company has that problem. They either have too much inventory or not enough.
We've been using the solution for around four years or so.
Technical support is very helpful and responsive. Whenever we've needed them, they've made themselves available. We're very happy with the level of support we get. Customer added today:
"We just started with CloudPath this year and the process went very well. I would highly recommend using their white glove service, it made the entire process seamless. The peace of mind gained by adding better security is huge."
I've also worked with solutions such as Cisco and Palo Alto.
We worked as a VAR/MSP directly with the school's small IT Staff.
The cost was somewhere around $700 for the access points, however, there was a discount.
People can go online and find something for usually pretty good pricing. We work with our customers wherever we can to try to get the price down to what's going to work for them. We can typically get pretty decent discounts for our customers.
We're a reseller. I'm not sure which level. They've got different levels usually, however, we've been doing a good bit with Ruckus. Not a huge amount - just a good amount with Ruckus and especially in the wireless area. Now, the switches are starting to come into play with us. With Cisco, we've been a partner and we're not at a super high level with Cisco. We're a small company. That said, they give some TLC, to an extent, and sometimes we'll get leads from them. They're a good partner and we can get some good discounts when we register for our customers.
I would give them a rating of about an eight out of ten. It's not quite Cisco, however, it's excellent in general.
