The ability to maintain multiple restore points is critical because it lets customers choose to restore their data to an hour or a day ago

Pros

"BDRSuite is better than competing solutions because it can protect, back up, and recover data. A feature called live migration allows you to recover the same data in different environments. For example, I can back up the data from a VMware machine and restore it to a Hyper-V. "

Cons

"I had a small problem integrating VMware and Hyper-V when customers used a free VMware license to create VMs. This is a problem because many customers use the free version of VMware. There are also some issues backing up old systems. They have a little difficulty but can always get strong support from customer service. "

Can automatically pull the virtual machines that we have in an environment

Pros

"I like the fact that BDRSuite can connect to VMware ESXi and automatically pull the virtual machines that I have in that environment. I also like that you can choose to back up the compute to the backup server or go straight to the cloud. "

Cons

"I don't know if it exists, but it would be helpful to get email notifications when there are issues with the backup. I'm sure it probably exists, but I just don't know how to do it. They also have an Azure proxy feature where you can restore to Azure. It's not really well documented. I think they should document how to do that a little better. "

Managing backup jobs is straightforward, can instantly recover data, and schedule incremental backups

Pros

"While BDRSuite offers a variety of functionalities, our primary focus is its disaster recovery capabilities, which we find to be the most valuable aspect of the software."

Cons

"Our initial experience with BDRSuite highlighted the need for improved user onboarding materials."

Cost-effective, gives multiple restore points, and supports various types of backups

Pros

"The most useful feature is that you can back up the virtual machines in different ways. You can back up from a vhost, and you can also back up from a Windows server. It doesn't matter what type of infrastructure or hypervisor is there. It's very flexible, which is its most useful feature for us."

Cons

"The response time of the support could be improved a little bit. Sometimes, I need to wait for two or three hours to get support. With VMware, we can get urgent support in an hour. Other than that, I'm pretty good with BDRSuite."

Reduces downtime when VMs drop off

Pros

"I am able to run Vembu on Windows NAS, which is beneficial. It does install on a Windows-based NAS. You can have the server running from the location where you are storing backups. You don't need a separate server for it in this case."

Cons

"There was one issue though with the hardware IDs. When I went to a different version of Hyper-V, the hardware IDs weren't restored and the machine got two new IDs. The preliminary unique IDs weren't restored, so I had to reactivate programs."

Having the ability to back up and restore, without having to remember all the options I had installed, gives me peace of mind

Pros

"It helps me with restores. I can repeat a test multiple times: Do the test, the restore, and then test again. It saves me time because I don't have to rebuild the VMs every time."

Backups are remarkably simple, we can instantly recover data and unify all our data sources

Pros

"The best part of BDRSuite is how user-friendly it is and how it does not require any maintenance after the initial setup."

Cons

"The initial setup process can be more simplistic and quicker."

Eliminated the need for multiple backup solutions, and notably reduced our backup overhead

Pros

"The most valuable feature is its ability to copy quickly. We have about 12 terabytes, and trying to copy that volume size through the file structure would take a week. BDRSuite has a different approach to copying and is much faster."

Cons

"For the more sophisticated backups that do not have a set backup process, procedures that are outside of the norm, it would be nice if we had more control and did not have to use their technical support. While they're very responsive and have always come through in a reasonable time frame, we would like to be able to manage everything on our own."
