Provides ease of configuration and good technical support services
We opted for this SaaS backup solution because we didn't have a backup solution previously, so we're currently testing different options. Our main goal is to protect the data and documents stored in SharePoint. Arcserve's automation capabilities have benefited us by providing a comprehensive backup and restore process solution. In terms of data recovery, both the performance and reliability have been excellent. It stands out due to its easy configuration process and the availability of numerous tools for backup and recovery. I rate it a nine out of ten.

Reliable rollback features for smooth IT operations and an easy setup
We are using Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 to take backups of shop floor PCs. I use it for clients locally, particularly for critical machines. It is also used globally for server-side backups and includes scheduling features like taking ten backups every Sunday when the factory is closed. This…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The data application is working well, and it does manage to match data when using the data option."
"In terms of data recovery, both the performance and reliability have been excellent."
"It is a stable solution."
"One of the main features of the solution is it is easy to use."
"The most valuable feature of Veeam Backup for Office 365 is the WAN accelerator. This feature allows for large amounts of data from one location to another. If the bandwidth in the environment is slow it makes the transfer slow but the WAN accelerator feature helps speed the transfer."
"I have used the technical support a few times and they've been reasonably helpful."
"The most valuable aspect of Veeam is its stability."
"The tool is easy to use and straightforward regarding restoration and creating backups. It's user-friendly, providing results and sending alerts when something goes wrong."
"The tool's most valuable feature is its integration with M365. Its GUI is intuitive and not bad. The granular recovery options for VMs have been useful, though not as crucial as Office 365 integration, which is why we use it. Granular recovery depends on the specific problems our customers face."
"The solution is stable."

Cons

"They should include the capability to back up on-premises environments."
"There are limitations with new hardware where it does not support failover and does not support the three-star bank group."
"In some instances, a customer is not necessarily backing up Microsoft 365. For instance, they might be backing up a large Oracle database. It would be nice if they could tweak it to compress the file, so it's easier to transfer a huge file."
"I'm very satisfied with Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 and would continue using it if it were up to me. However, my management is considering alternative solutions due to issues with our storage solutions."
"It's hard to predict the usage on the storage. I need to make some estimates for customers in terms of how much storage will be needed on the cloud, and this is always tricky. It would be helpful if they could help us estimate storage or simplify the estimation portion."
"We would like to have a single management console for all of our backups."
"They don't have native integration with deduplication of storage."
"The capacity storage is a challenge everywhere in the backup industry. The general feedback people are coming back to about this is that there is no deduplication based on it."
"A while back, I had some trouble using the agent. It might be a problem with older versions. Sometimes, I also have issues installing or making backups from the console to that type of operating system."
"If you use a device to back up with compression and duplication, the solution doesn't work."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The SaaS platform offers many benefits; the licensing structure is suitable for monitoring and controlling users' storage space."
"We are talking about a third party solution, so there is a licensing fee."
"This is not a stand-alone product and requires a standard Veeam license for your organization in addition to the cost of the solution."
"We have 2000 users and pay about $10,000. It may be a little bit more per year. We have an education institute and may have fewer expenses."
"It is strictly subscribed on a per-user basis."
"The pricing is expensive."
"Veaam Backup is licensed per mailbox, which customers like because it's per user and so they don't have to pay for shared mailboxes."
"We decided on Altaro because, from the point of view of the total cost, Altaro looks cheaper than Veeam. Veeam has a lot of costs that are not clear when you start it, which makes it less flexible than Altaro, but only after half a year, you can be really sure that you made a good decision."
"Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 is expensive, and I rate it an eight out of ten."
