Centralized device management has transformed security and streamlined remote provisioning
One area where Microsoft Intune can improve is the user interface. Sometimes the portal feels a bit complex and not very intuitive, especially for new users, and it can take time to find specific settings. Another point is troubleshooting. While logs are available, the diagnostic policies and sync issues can still be time-consuming and not very straightforward. I also feel that reporting could be more detailed and customizable. The built-in reports are helpful, but for deeper insights, I often need to rely on additional tools. Overall, it is a strong solution, but improving usability and troubleshooting experience would make it even better. While Microsoft Intune works very well within the Microsoft ecosystem, the integration of some third-party tools could be smoother and require less customization. Support is another area that could improve, as sometimes response times can be slow, and resolving complex issues may take longer than expected. In terms of features, I think more advanced automation and built-in remediation options would be helpful since common issues can be fixed automatically without manual intervention.

Useful for vulnerability scanning and data encryption
AWS Config's dashboard improved our company's security as it helps with the vulnerability scanning of resources. AWS Config integrates with the existing security infrastructure of our company, and it is an easy process that is not at all complicated. AWS Config is a security product. The tool protects its users' resources and data from unauthorized access, security breaches, and threats. The product helps with data encryption. You can have your data on AWS KMS, which helps with data encryption. For areas like SSL/TLS encryption, the tool offers data protection between AWS services and endpoints. As I need to learn the components of the product, I rate the overall tool a seven out of ten.

I have not come across any difficulties. I integrated it with ILMT (IBM License Metric Tool). It lets us identify all software being used in my organization with BigFix. It provides input of all types of software being used, including details and information about hardware specifications. I am more involved in software licensing and procurement, so I utilize this tool for procuring more licenses if needed for our company. After integration, we get different dashboards showcasing our IBM infrastructure, highlighting various issues in our environment that we can mitigate. I recommend BigFix to others. I rate BigFix a seven out of ten.

Pros

"The overall user experience is quite nice. I have no complaints from end users regarding their devices enrolled in Intune."
"It is very easy for me to configure all the things. Once I create policies and applications in Intune, it is very easy for us to enroll users."
"It is helpful for managing devices anytime and any place without requiring dependency on the local networks."
"I would rate the stability of Microsoft Intune nine out of ten."
"The main benefit for us with Microsoft Intune is centralized management of all devices, allowing us to apply one policy across the company from one location."
"We can manage and standardize security across your environment, identify problems, receive alerts, and so on. That's its purpose, and that's also why it's so good."
"The valuable feature of this solution is its ease of use."
"The cloud base is perfect for me."
"The tracking, history logs, and security alert features are valuable because they are critical features that assist us."
"The scalability is a ten out of ten."
"The solution is scalable and provides over 100 rules."
"The initial setup is super easy, it takes like two minutes. Literally a one-click deployment."
"Installing the instances and performing upgrades is smooth and clean."
"The tool protects its users' resources and data from unauthorized access, security breaches, and threats."
"AWS Config's dashboard improved our company's security as it helps with the vulnerability scanning of resources."
"BigFix helped us to identify the compliance of devices and has also improved the way that we manage our software inventory for reporting to vendors."
"The interface is easy to use, and it's not complicated to create tasks; it offers all of the features that we require."
"It has saved us maybe millions in funds."
"My company provides support services to a lot of customers and companies, and we have reduced a huge amount of man-effort and the timeline to fix the compliance and security gaps, with an unbroken record of patching newly released Microsoft and third-party patches on up to 80% of 25,000 endpoints within 72 hours of release, which has been a very massive benefit."
"The most valuable features of the solution are Windows patching and the hardware and software inventory."
"The most valuable feature for us is the ability to manage TWS, the relevance is really what sets it apart. Also, using it as a software deployment tool is the key for us."
"We receive the patches automatically, and BigFix spreads them automatically to our endpoints."
"Altogether, help desk calls have been reduced by around 50%."

Cons

"Cost is the biggest factor for us right now. Microsoft Intune and AD P1 together in a bundle is a good thing to have, but it is very costly compared to other products in the market. Otherwise, Microsoft Intune is the best."
"I want more secure, reliable, and efficient security policies."
"Historically, Group Policy has simplified the management of various items, such as printer and drive mappings and while Intune offers workarounds, it lacks native support for these functionalities."
"I rate Microsoft customer service six out of 10. While some technicians go above and beyond, there is inconsistency, and connecting with the most helpful representatives is occasionally challenging."
"Microsoft's technical support isn't very good. They're very slow in responding."
"If you could replace SCCM completely with Intune, that would be fantastic so that you don't have to run SCCM with Intune as an extension."
"Technical support can be challenging when resources shift, requiring repeated explanations. Support from India sometimes provides information without the right solution."
"Intune is not the most user-friendly mobile device management platform available."
"The solution is missing a configuration that can assist us when writing our programming languages."
"The reboot process for AWS instances could be improved. Microsoft Azure does not have this problem, so AWS could consider making their instances more robust. You would not need to reboot your instances frequently to replace the hardware and stuff. They can look for a better approach or mechanism to improve in the future. The concern is that you need to plan for the outage when you reboot an instance. You need to have a maintenance window where you can properly reboot the instance without affecting your application. When Amazon announces that you need to reboot an instance and are not ready, this becomes a problem."
"Improvements are needed as per customer requirements."
"The solution is missing a configuration that can assist us when writing our programming languages."
"There is room for improvement in built-in tools, they are not up to the mark."
"The tool should be more friendly in terms of Web UI and should be having better vulnerability scanning mechanisms so a third-party application is not required to fulfill that aspect."
"Improvements can be made when it comes to in-place and OS upgrades."
"There is no support for patch management on SLES on IBM pSeries (only the Intel platform is supported)."
"I would eventually like to see a SaaS offering, a cloud-hosted BigFix instance where we only have to put a relay in our environment."
"The look and feel of the system are old-fashioned."
"Technical support is getting better. About five years ago, it was horrible."
"The new EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) feature, Detect, is new and still needs a few updates."
"We would like to see a different license plan, e.g. to include features from lifecycle with Patch Management, as an example."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is reasonable for the features it has."
"Licensing depends on how you are providing support to your enterprise, whether it's device-based or user-based."
"The pricing is inherently reasonable, as Microsoft leverages market insights to maintain the total cost of ownership at around ninety to ninety-five percent of what would be incurred in an on-premise scenario."
"With one user base license, we can use Intune for up to five devices. However, with Soti MobiControl, each license is tied to a single device, meaning one license is dedicated to one device only."
"I would rate the price a four out of ten with ten being the most expensive."
"Microsoft Intune is expensive."
"I liked the tool's pricing until P2 came into effect. I am unsure about the current value versus the cost of the new licensing model."
"Microsoft Intune's pricing is reasonable."
"The solution charges us per hour. There's no license."
"It is a very expensive tool. AWS pricing for Config is not fixed and depends on your organization's size and complexity."
"So, the pricing is slightly more expensive than the others. I have to keep buying licenses every time I add a new device."
"The price is very fair."
"The license is subscription-based."
"The price is reasonable, but our customers find it expensive."
"You are charged per server and per workstation when using BigFix. ManageEngine is a lot cheaper than BigFix. There are some additional costs, such as support."
"When purchasing, buying with other IBM tools provided us with a very good discount in pricing."
"I can estimate the reduced cost of servers maintenance to approximatively $500,000."
"The cost is slightly high."
