Gives a good snapshot of what's going on
The risk management tool does not have reporting, which I feel to be a huge mistake. While I can go into it and run the scan for the all the information, I must enter each thing individually to see what I need. I can't print or email a report to somebody in a different environment or to any of my clients for the purpose of advising how they must proceed. All I can do is go into and look at it. It would be nice to able to take the report and determine what must be focused on most critically, as opposed to merely being given a tremendous amount of information. This should be addressed. The solution should also do a better job of informing a person of what happened. The son of one of my clients, who has the solution installed in his house, was blocked from playing a certain game. While the solution only informed the person that it was blocked, it did not state what it had blocked. With another client who was in the middle of playing a game in his office, the solution blocked this but provided no telemetry whatsoever. I had to search in an attempt to see what was being blocked. Turning the solution off, however, enabled the game to work perfectly. It was blocking it for some reason, but I had no clue why it was doing so. The solution should be providing reports of everything, not just specific incidents. The solution has many features, but does not inform one of what was actually done, leaving a person in the dark when it comes to things that are not apparent. For specific threats, one need simply login to know what is transpiring. When there was a need to involve support, I would be instructed to download a certain software for gathering information. But, this is not how things should be. Support should be providing the information it possesses of what transpired.

Enhance secure remote access with feature-rich VPN and content filtering
We mainly use FortiClient as a VPN client. Additionally, we use it for anti-malware, anti-spam, and as a content filter. When a user is outside the company, we can use FortiClient as a content filter to control the sites the user can access FortiClient has improved our security posture by…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The product offers an opportunity to monitor the things happening in our network. It also has a comprehensive dashboard."
"Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security has a lot of telemetry that allows me to really see what's going on with the device."
"We find the protection the solution provides valuable."
"The most valuable feature is the IDS."
"The installation is easy and it takes approximately a few hours. We are deploying it from a Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tool. All you need to do is click on it and the installation is complete."
"What I appreciate most about Bitdefender are its web content filtering, blocking malicious sites, and its ability to thwart brute force attacks on open ports."
"When it comes to the web, according to our customers, this product stands out due to its superior performance compared to others."
"You will always have a backup copy of any policy the Bitdefender user defines."
"When the user gets authenticated, I can assign a different VPN or network to each user."
"It is very simple to use. I've used some of the others in the past, such as Cisco AnyConnect, which was a nightmare. I've used a couple of others, but FortiClient is very simple to use."
"It has a very easy-to-use interface. It has ease of management, and all the modules are there. SKUs are also easily identifiable. Whatever is required in the firewall is already there in it. It's very advanced, and analytics reporting is very good. They also have cloud reporting. You get all the services that are available for your device in the cloud. You just have to subscribe. It's very easy. There's a lot of demand for this solution because it's an all-in-one solution. The throughput is very high."
"The product is user-friendly."
"The most valuable features are malware detection, integrates well with other solutions, and ease of use for all users."
"The integration capabilities are good."
"The EMS server gives us good control and central management."
"Having a centralized console is a valuable feature. The Fortinet fabric is also very valuable where all different pieces talk together to secure our network and track the North, South, East, and West movement of files and data through our network."

Cons

"The price has increased marginally recently and I would prefer if they didn't raise rates."
"The tool needs to improve patch and vulnerability management."
"It could be simplified a little bit for firewall rules and blocking specific IP addresses. It would be nice to have an option to upload a CSV or XLSX file of IP addresses to be blacklisted or to be able to specify a range as attempted logins from botnets and people attempting to access network accounts is an increasing issue across the board."
"The lack of detecting security threats and high memory usage need to be improved."
"The dashboard can be improved."
"The price of the bandwidth here is very expensive compared to European countries."
"My main concern is that it's a bit heavy for some devices. Like Kaspersky or McAfee, it uses more RAM or memory. Similar to that, it causes issues for users and their own resources, similar to that. If you deploy on old legacy devices with only 1GB of RAM, then it could be a problem."
"I like the Application Control feature, but it's a bit tricky. Managing it can be a bit cumbersome sometimes."
"We'd like to be able to properly encrypt the data more effectively."
"The features of Fortinet FortiClient could be improved."
"FortiClient is not great in Linux."
"I would like to see endpoint detection and response included."
"I haven't found that that solution does anything amazing."
"It would be extremely useful to have an automatic updating feature."
"It would be interesting if the solution offered a way to try to investigate and create a use case to trace vectors."
"Fortinet FortiClient should improve its visibility of the consumption of traffic and end-user action, which is very low."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There are many licensing options available, we have been on monthly agreements and other volume contract agreements."
"The licensing costs can vary."
"The license is yearly."
"The product's pricing is okay and it is yearly."
"The pricing is reasonable when I compare it to other security solutions, particularly Kaspersky, it stands out. It offers an excellent solution at a more favorable price point."
"The solution is reasonable and is nominally priced in accordance with the features that offer to the market."
"In terms of the licensing costs associated with Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security, the agreement was made nearly three years ago, but from what I recall, the figure was around €6,000 to €7,000 for three years, including support for two hundred endpoints."
"The tool is not expensive and pricing is competitive."
"It is not that expensive. It was within the range. A dollar per user per month is nothing."
"The price of the solution depends on the type of firewall you have from FortiGate. I am satisfied with the price of the solution."
"The solution is more cost efficient than Cisco, as FortiGate tends not to charge for the client license, which allows one to make free use of whatever is supported on the device."
"The product's licensing is yearly and expensive."
"The price is reasonable compared to competitors, it is very good."
"The pricing is reasonable."
"The solution is not expensive. We need more discounted rates in Pakistan. The price of the solution could be reduced to be more affordable for the solution."
"I rate the product's pricing a seven out of ten."
