Gained full visibility and streamlined threat detection through behavior-based insights and AI integration
Initially, we got to have a lot of false positives when we onboarded, but nowadays it's quite smooth. We have fine-tuned our security policies and allowed different levels of policies to get rid of those false positives. Currently, we are getting a fairly good amount of incidents that are not false positives or benign, but actionable items. The process is streamlined. In the initial days, the operations used to get involved in a lot of benign and other activities, but now the process is streamlined. We are leveraging the auto-detection and remediation plans. The operations teams are now more involved in other business roles as well, not just looking into the logs and fetching out what's happening there. They have fixed a lot of things. Initially, they didn't have IAC code drift detection, cloud posture management, or security posture management, but they have those now. They purchased different vendors and did a merger with that. They have now Prisma Cloud that gets integrated and now they are working with Cortex Cloud. Everything that was negative has now been addressed, and the product altogether looks to be in a very better and mature shape now. Currently, it's more or less detecting the workloads with AI-based best practices. Since most organizations are consuming AI agents and other things, we are looking forward to seeing what other feature enhancements Palo Alto can support in that.

Effective real-time threat detection and reduced network congestion improves security posture
We are not currently using the automated patching or patch management. The security analytics feature, which could help us stay compliant with industry standards, hasn't been enabled yet. Currently running on-premise, we are considering moving to the cloud-based Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security because it offers more features compared to the on-premises version. We've experienced multiple failures during appliance upgrades, sometimes requiring us to resort to backup. Mobile and cloud features are currently missing in Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security. Operating from the primary site, we face challenges with the on-premises version when working from the DR site, which is why we want to move to the cloud for continuous protection during site failovers.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"These days it's machine-learning technology and behavior-based analytics features that make us more secure."
"The policy configuration is great, the granularity of policies that are available is very helpful, it is straightforward to set up, and it has pretty much everything we need and works well within the Palo Alto ecosystem."
"There has been a significant reduction of approximately 70% to 80% in our internal MTTR and MTTD metrics, now around five to eight minutes whereas previously it was hours, which has helped tremendously."
"Its interface and pricing are most valuable, and it is better than other vendors in terms of security."
"We have found in our test Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks to be a very good tool."
"Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks has changed the way my security team detects, investigates, and responds to threats, as we are able to see the files, unwanted files, unsecured files, and unauthorized files, so we are quarantining them."
"My advice for anybody who is considering Cortex XDR is that it is a complete solution, and has very good features."
"In one single alert, we are getting the network telemetry, endpoint telemetry, email security telemetry, and proxy telemetry all in one single ticket, making it very easy."
"The most valuable feature is the security of the DNS protection and the core security antivirus engine."
"There are no real issues with it and it works well."
"It is very easy to configure and deploy."
"The product is a good standard security tool."
"It takes lesser energy from the system than the rest. So, we tried it for five years, and it works quite well. So we have continued with it. And the pricing is competitive as well."
"The tool has a firewall module to control traffic. It also has a feature to map incidents and provide information about attackers and the environment."
"Based on my experience, I rate Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security a nine out of ten."
"The product offers an opportunity to monitor the things happening in our network. It also has a comprehensive dashboard."
"The product's initial setup phase is easy."
"The setup process was easy for our remote clients and us as well."
"The most valuable feature is its endpoint protection, particularly the antivirus component. It has been very effective in protecting our clients, and since its installation, we haven't encountered any issues with compromised endpoints or virus impacts."
"In case it works, we are looking to use features like USB blocking, file upload alerts, and other antivirus features as well, but this software has to work first."
"Seqrite Endpoint Security is a good solution."
"With Seqrite, it is completely protected, and we have full control over what is happening on the end user's laptop."
"The solution is centrally managed, easy to configure, and easy to use."
"The solution effectively detects malicious files and blocks sign-ins."

Cons

"I think sometimes Cortex XDR agent automatically stops event capturing from the device, and then even the dashboard does not get any notifications from the agent."
"The dashboard could use some significant improvement, just making it more useful with more information. It has a limited amount of information right now. It is customizable, but I'd love to see a better out-of-box dashboard."
"Cortex XDR should have a lightweight agent, and the agent size should not be heavy."
"As an improvement, I would like to see enhanced connection speeds."
"The MAC agent is not as robust feature-wise as the PC version."
"It's more focused on network communication. If a customer wants to increase the level of protection and start working with documents, it's impossible to integrate these features into the system. It's more of a communication-oriented system than a content security-oriented system."
"It should support more mobile operating systems. That is one of the cons of their infrastructure right now."
"It takes time to scan the servers and devices."
"There is room for improvement in CPU utilization."
"Because we bought Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security via Rectron as a distributor, they need to upskill their distributors."
"The solution must be more user-friendly."
"Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security could improve the RDP, I have problems sometimes."
"Overall, Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security is quite good. It always has new features which customers can use for free, so I can't say that something is missing in the solution, though one area for improvement is that the cloud version of Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security still can't connect to a central SIEM. The on-premises version has that capability, but the cloud version doesn't."
"To be honest, this makes me miss Panda."
"We've experienced multiple failures during appliance upgrades, sometimes requiring us to resort to backup."
"Potential areas for improvement could be more accessible and immediate support for critical situations, especially considering the regulatory challenges in healthcare."
"The pricing could be a bit lower."
"When it comes to the support provided by the product, I see that Seqrite is not as mature as the other products in the market."
"The support offered by the tool is an area of concern where improvements are required."
"The solution could improve by providing better security and a cloud base version."
"I would like to see Seqrite add a remote profile so we can implement different policies for users connecting to the in-office LAN and those accessing the office network from home or a public internet connection."
"The product or service could be improved by incorporating SIEM integrations to enable the collection of logs."
"We would like the solution to have integration with other security solutions so that we can have a single base for monitoring all the security incidents and concerns."
"We are using Apple devices, and the advanced device control service doesn't work for M1 chips devices, like Apple MacBooks."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is present, but when compared to other competitive products, I would say it is not less expensive; however, when all of the other added values are considered, the price is reasonable."
"The cost of Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks is $55 to $90 USD per endpoint per month."
"When we first bought it, it was a bit expensive, but it was worth it. The licensing was straightforward."
"Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks is an expensive solution."
"I am using the Community edition."
"The price of the solution is high for the license and in general."
"The cost depends on your chosen license type, like Pro or other licenses."
"Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks is quite an expensive solution."
"There are many licensing options available, we have been on monthly agreements and other volume contract agreements."
"We purchase the solution for three or five-year intervals. We paid approximately $150 for 10 to 15 users."
"The licensing costs can vary."
"The pricing is reasonable when I compare it to other security solutions, particularly Kaspersky, it stands out. It offers an excellent solution at a more favorable price point."
"The solution is reasonable and is nominally priced in accordance with the features that offer to the market."
"In terms of the licensing costs associated with Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security, the agreement was made nearly three years ago, but from what I recall, the figure was around €6,000 to €7,000 for three years, including support for two hundred endpoints."
"The license is yearly."
"In India, licensing is based on annual contracts. It's not extremely expensive, but not the cheapest either. I'd rate it somewhere around seven or eight out of ten."
"Though I don't think that this is a cheaply priced product, I feel that it is an affordable solution."
"It is a cheaply priced product."
"Endpoint Security is cheaper than Trend Micro."
"The pricing is reasonable."

"The solution's pricing is good for us, where it is neither cheap nor expensive."

"I give the cost of the solution a seven out of ten."
