Admin gets the information about which computer has been infected and good to use for servers and endpoints
The important factor is that after implementing Bitdefender, we haven't found any attacks. It has a vaccine for the RDP protocol, which is specific to this. We do some customization, but it does not lack any protection. Compared to older versions, we have not found any degradation in performance in the newer versions from the last three to five years, whether for graphical or normal users. They're not complaining that we are facing problems like memory issues. Bitdefender is also customizable and granular, but once you install it, it keeps running. The admin gets the information about which computer has been infected and can take action accordingly. On a regular basis, Bitdefender's AI capability is okay. But you cannot leave some decisions to AI. You must have control. You have to look at what you're filtering, as it can be a false positive. But on a regular basis, AI can be helpful.

Easy to set up with good security and rapidly improving capabilities
In terms of stability, the performance parameters do come into play. It's good on the regular office front, however, on the development side, if somebody is using it in a development environment, they need to make some configuration changes in terms of what directories should be excluded from the real-time scanning. I had to do that kind of stuff. I don't do that with the Microsoft product, for example. It runs, and it scans the entire system with no issues. The solution is stable. Regular updates were available in the product versions. They were updated, and they gave regular signature updates also so that the product checked all the boxes.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It is very easy to configure and deploy."
"The product offers an opportunity to monitor the things happening in our network. It also has a comprehensive dashboard."
"The cloud console is good and the tool is effective in protection."
"The domain integrator functionality is particularly noteworthy, allowing me to leverage my existing network infrastructure."
"When it comes to the web, according to our customers, this product stands out due to its superior performance compared to others."
"Virus scan and the ability to remotely install are valuable features. Being able to manage everything in one place and set different policies and rules for different computer types are very useful features. It also has ransomware protection. It is very simple to use, and it is very effective."
"The tool has a firewall module to control traffic. It also has a feature to map incidents and provide information about attackers and the environment."
"The solution is very scalable."
"In terms of stability, I can rate it at nine out of ten."
"What is great about ESET is the ERA Web Console through which we can pull various reports, monitor and administer all clients and servers, and the console is easy to use."
"The overall security capability of the product is pretty reliable."
"Easy to use security solution, helps to secure connected devices against viruses in the digital world."
"It effectively catches unwanted stuff. It has saved our bacon over many years."
"I rate ESET Endpoint Security eight out of 10 for ease of setup. Setting up ESET can be straightforward or complicated depending on the customer's environment. The deployment time varies, but it's typically around five days. We have a team of four or five people involved in the deployment. Only one person is needed for maintenance. The only maintenance is adjusting the configuration of the dashboard."
"The product is quite affordable."
"The most valuable features of this solution are, of course, the IPS/IDS, Intrusion Prevention, Intrusion Detection, and Antivirus."

Cons

"The lack of detecting security threats and high memory usage need to be improved."
"The initial setup should be made easier."
"Overall, Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security is quite good. It always has new features which customers can use for free, so I can't say that something is missing in the solution, though one area for improvement is that the cloud version of Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security still can't connect to a central SIEM. The on-premises version has that capability, but the cloud version doesn't."
"The risk management tool does not have reporting, which I feel to be a huge mistake."
"I like the Application Control feature, but it's a bit tricky. Managing it can be a bit cumbersome sometimes."
"Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security could improve the RDP, I have problems sometimes."
"The connection with the controller needs improvement. Some connections are currently unstable."
"The live monitoring service from Bitdefender's center is expensive and has room for improvement."
"The solution should offer more security surrounding blacklisted websites."
"It seems to have some issues with updates. When you do updates, it sometimes requests for a reboot, and even when you do the reboot, it still says that you need to reboot. Currently, on my computer, it says that a new ESET Endpoint Antivirus has been installed, and I need to restart the computer for the changes to take effect, but I've already done that, and the same message is still there, which is a little annoying. It should have a feature similar to the Intercept X feature in Sophos."
"The initial setup of ESET Endpoint Security was not complex because we have five years of experience. However, it is not as easy if we did not have the experience."
"The use of SQL Server can be improved. At times, there is a bit of challenge while linking it with the Javascript. ESET Endpoint Security requires modern technology or modern equipment on site. You will find it difficult to use ESET Endpoint Security with dual-core machines. If they can add the cloud management feature to their product, it will be much easier. If you look at this COVID situation that we are in right now, people are working from home, so you need to control the computers wherever you are. For example, if you are using any email setup and you are hosting it on your own, all the email traffic will be going through the same network. You need to protect all of your computers from the attack. It is best if you can do it remotely rather than having an IT person to come onsite to manage all computers and metrics etc, which isn't a smart way to do it."
"The problem was that it didn't support Windows 7."
"ESET's updates are mostly manual. That's my biggest concern. I'd like it to be more automatic. I've had to download the new version and run it manually to install it. I've got several workstations like that right now."
"The solution can improve the modules, and it is lacking centralized management and visibility of the endpoints."
"I would like them to use AI features to do preventative virus protection."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It has very flexible licensing costs, and it's modular-based."
"The product's pricing is okay and it is yearly."
"The price is fair."
"You don't have to pay extra after buying the product."
"We pay for an annual license which is affordable."
"Good in terms of pricing and flexibility."
"In terms of the licensing costs associated with Bitdefender GravityZone Enterprise Security, the agreement was made nearly three years ago, but from what I recall, the figure was around €6,000 to €7,000 for three years, including support for two hundred endpoints."
"The tool is not expensive and pricing is competitive."
"Pricing for ESET Endpoint Security could be lower because here in Hungary, it's expensive."
"For 200 or so users, it might cost around $10,000 or so. That is for a first-time purchase. A renewal may come in at $7,000 to $8,000, or around 20% to 30% less. This is a rough estimate of what to expect."
"I rate the product’s pricing a three out of ten. It is neither cheap nor expensive for our clients."
"The price of ESET Endpoint Antivirus is fair compared to the performance of other solutions."
"The solution's license is moderately priced."
"Its price is reasonable."
"Pricing of ESET Endpoint Security is within the market pricing."
"The price of ESET Endpoint Security is in the middle range of price compared to other solutions. For example, BitDefender can be more expensive."
