A reasonably priced tool for system and application monitoring
The main room for improvement is in the solution's presentation and the integration area. In our company, we use the integration capabilities from ServiceNow. We also have another big monitoring solution in place in our company, which is Dynatrace. At the moment, there doesn't exist an out-of-the-box integration for Dynatrace. I think that the integration and the exporting of the data collected are areas where Checkmk lacks but should try to improve the most. The only implementation of Checkmk that allows high availability is the virtual appliance that has the option for the availability of a different box. Otherwise, you have to find a way to implement it manually with some custom solution, which could be an improvement.

Offers automation capabilities, ability to manage the entire network, and provides real-time monitoring of network utilization
For network performance, there are so many tools in OpManager for your network. You can manage your servers and processes as well. Processes are the Windows services running in the background. They are what you see in the task manager when you check how many are being run by Windows or the machine. OpManager can manage these processes. If one isn't running, you can reboot or start it or write a script for the situation. For example, if there's a server issue at night, a rule will automatically run in the background and reboot the services. OpManager will do all of that, and the services will come back online. It can resolve those types of issues on its own. And it's automated.

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Checkmk is a fairly reasonably priced solution."

"The price of ManageEngine OpManager is reasonable. We have an annual license and the cost comes from how many devices are being monitored. There is not anything extra cost for maintenance and support."
"As far as cost, it was around six hundred thousand rands ($40,500) for the year, for the renewals. That's the total cost for a four thousand node system including support and maintenance."
"We had perpetual licenses. The cost was around 36,000 for OPManager, and then you'd have the yearly maintenance fee of 2,000 or 3,000."
"The pricing is moderate."
"It is not really expensive; it is nominal licensing."
"The tool's licensing costs are yearly."
"The price for ManageEngine OpManager is average."
"Pricing for ManageEngine OpManager depends on the number of nodes you onboard and whatever pricing is reflected on the ManageEngine portal which offers discounts from ten percent to fifteen percent. It purely depends on the sales volume and the negotiation. In my organization, there are about one thousand two hundred nodes which cost around $29,000 per year. There's no additional support fee or maintenance fee from ManageEngine OpManager. Pricing for the solution is highly competitive and I would rate it five out of five. ManageEngine OpManager is one of the most competitive options out there."
