Using the app is straightforward with easy buttons to click on.
Customer Service: We didn't contact their customer service at any point because the backup and recovery process is pretty straightforward. But they have a customer support email and phone just in case. Technical Support: CloudAlly can be used by a non-techie person because it's simple. We didn't contact the technical support, but it's available for any user who may encounter a problem.

Reliable automated backups have protected critical databases and simplified recoveries for our operations
Portal identity management should improve. We end up losing people's identity, which was not sufficient enough to read the events. That was the only place I could see for improvement. They keep changing the layouts and descriptions, giving the user confusion if they have not used it for maybe three months. When they come back, the interface is changed. They lost the legacy support, and it is not consistent. Some of the options for the restore give a very hard time for the engineer if they come back after three months to use it because the phrases have changed completely. That is why they were not able to select whether they should select this option or should select another option. Where it comes from, the documentation we gave them does not match anymore. That was a challenge. My consultation part was about how to integrate the technology with each other for the platform or storage or database. I did not deal with any price metrics or scaling the storage. I have no idea about the pricing part. I never joined any meetings or any documents to disclose the pricing. It was quite good in general. Recently, in March 2025, they did a new update which enabled them to update their agents remotely and built in, in-place mode. That is bringing the cybersecurity perspective. That was a big challenge. I said it is a challenge, but I do not know because I left the company, so I am not sure if cybersecurity addressed the solution. Rubrik support is usually very accommodating and very flexible. I am not sure, but the last challenge I saw was that.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"With this solution, its remarkable to see that ease of use means ease of use."
"CloudAlly provides a unique solution for every major email application."
"Definitely an impressive ROI because the app is inexpensive and saves us time, headaches plus slow computer devices that could be jammed with huge data."
"The user-friendly interface of CloudAlly significantly enhances data protection."
"Even though I am not trained for implementing, it is easy to use and easy to learn."
"If you are looking for a product that offers backups and DR capabilities, which is easy to use, look no further than Rubrik."
"It has the ability to test DR in a controlled, inexpensive way and to restore between environments."
"Time dedicated to backup was drastically reduced, with reduced infrastructure complexity and easy, fast restores."
"Since switching to Rubrik, our backup times have decreased significantly, going from two and a half days to one and a half hours for certain systems."
"I highly recommend the solution as it's very user-friendly and easy to work with out-of-the-box; there's nothing complex about it."
"ubrik's One-Touch Recovery helps address this. Using backup as a migration tool can also help overcome challenges when moving to a hybrid cloud."
"It has also saved us time managing backups. It's pretty stable. So it sends us a report if something goes wrong, then you get a report. You don't really need to manually monitor this software over time. If something happens, you'll get an error and you'll get an email notification and then address it. We found the product pretty stable if it's configured correctly. So it has reduced management time."

Cons

"CloudAlly can improve in the areas of reporting, especially regarding backup statistics and backup failures presented in pie graphs and charts."
"The recovery of Oracle databases is too complicated."
"It is already very well furnished, but live mounts for Nutanix AHV would be amazing."
"The price of Rubrik is too high, especially when you are considering a change in the total backup solution."
"And what about the data services, like the ability to have application-level recovery? Actually this is not included or integrated and it’s far from other products (like Veeam)."
"I hope to see enhancements in areas like data governance and the incorporation of new features in future updates."
"For Rubrik, though it does a great job, it needs to keep innovating to stay relevant in the data management field."
"The interface is still slightly clunky and has room for improvement. They do work with us whenever we mention anything that needs to be done or anything that we want. We find that bringing up the management interface is a little slow and not as intuitive as we would like, but it's been getting better as it evolves."
"They should give more access to the backend capabilities. From a customer point of view, you do not have access to all the features on the system. You have to engage their support to perform some of the tasks. It would be helpful for an experienced engineer to be able to go and do some of those tasks prior to contacting the support."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"I don't remember the cost, but I know that for Veeam, we were spending almost $250,000 a year for 205 licenses. It was an enterprise version. When we purchased Rubrik, it was just a little bit more. It was not a terribly huge amount, and if I recall, that was for three years of support as well. So, Veeam priced itself out of the market at a certain point in time."
"It is an expensive product."
"There are additional costs for add-ons, and they recently upgraded a new cluster, which also carries a price."
"We do perpetual licensing... It was all based on the amount of storage we needed to use. We did a cost analysis compared to Tivoli and it was in line with other solutions."
"We pay yearly and it's based on the number of bricks."
"Rubrik is expensive, but due to its data management capabilities, customers can save a lot by reducing hardware and storage."
"I rate the tool's pricing a six out of ten."
"Due to this effective, faster backup and recovery solution, we are now able to focus on other creative tasks to meet our entire pipeline. So, we have seen ROI in terms of the improvement of productivity in our team. We save around one million dollars a year."
