Using the app is straightforward with easy buttons to click on.
Customer Service: We didn't contact their customer service at any point because the backup and recovery process is pretty straightforward. But they have a customer support email and phone just in case. Technical Support: CloudAlly can be used by a non-techie person because it's simple. We didn't contact the technical support, but it's available for any user who may encounter a problem.

Technical support has improved my data management process but I encounter GUI and cost challenges
The solution is available in the Azure Marketplace, but approaching directly is more cost-effective. The Marketplace approach incurs additional platform and reporting costs. We initially built Rubrik at host level and DB level. We encountered latency issues when reverting back, with numerous snapshots available. This resulted in increased costs and occupied spaces. I performed manual deletion of snapshots and verified with the Rubrik team for confirmation. The GUI reporting functionality lacks flexibility. For instance, obtaining specific server reports considering drive space and backup quantities is not possible, as it only provides overall reporting.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The user-friendly interface of CloudAlly significantly enhances data protection."
"Definitely an impressive ROI because the app is inexpensive and saves us time, headaches plus slow computer devices that could be jammed with huge data."
"CloudAlly provides a unique solution for every major email application."
"With this solution, its remarkable to see that ease of use means ease of use."
"Instant recovery is a good feature."
"Not having to specify a time to run a backup with a fixed schedule is something that's really beneficial. In the past we had to schedule and try to manually stagger things over the window, to back up everything. Because Rubrik is SLA-based, you say, "Well, I need it to fit in this window here," and it just backs it up when it's most convenient for the Brik and for the third-party system. It looks at the CPU usage and says, "Okay, it's not as busy now. I know I've got time to take the backup." That's a real advantage."
"The instant recovery aspect of the solution is the most valuable aspect for me."
"I no longer feel the need to babysit and monitor all of the backup jobs in the backup system."
"The most valuable feature has been the Live Mount feature."
"CloudOn allows for backed up virtual machines stored offsite in Azure to be instantiated as an Azure virtual machine and spun up."
"The product is easy to install, easy to balance, and easy to work with."
"The most valuable feature from a simplicity point of view is that it is very simple and easy to deploy and scale."

Cons

"CloudAlly can improve in the areas of reporting, especially regarding backup statistics and backup failures presented in pie graphs and charts."
"The only thing that can be improved is catering for open source databases because at the moment it doesn't cater for Mongo, MySQL, and Postgres."
"I would rate the stability a seven out of ten. There is always room for improvement."
"Needs integration with video CD (coming in the next release) and a multi-tenant GUI."
"Price-wise, Rubrik needs improvement as it is considered expensive compared to similar competitors."
"There are so many things Rubrik has done right. They need to continue to listen to their customers and what they want/need, not just care about money and the bottom line."
"I'd like to see a cloud backup service for smaller customer environments that may not support a physical or virtual appliance."
"I would like to see the entire Office 365 product suite backed up by Rubrik. For instance, they do SharePoint and Exchange online, but they don't back up Microsoft Teams. So, I would like to see more of the Office 365 suite added into their backup capabilities."
"We would like to be able to do granular restores directly from Exchange. Also, more granular management of VM backups would help."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"Rubrik is not cheap. Hopefully, you can archive your data on cheap storage to keep the investment minimal."
"Rubrik is expensive, but due to its data management capabilities, customers can save a lot by reducing hardware and storage."
"The pricing has been quite good from our perspective, in terms of being able to negotiate with the Rubrik team to get the product that we want and be able to sell that out to our end customers."
"Rubrik's competitive pricing and strong return on investment make it a compelling choice, especially compared to alternatives like Data Domain and Avamar. Commvault was considered but deemed too expensive."
"I rate the pricing an eight on a scale of one to ten, where one is low, and ten is high."
"The setup cost is a bit high, but the solution is an all-in-one solution."
"We are on an annual license to use Rubrik and it is priced well."
"Rubrik is an expensive solution."
