Great features, good patch management, and useful ransomware protection
I also have experience with Sophos and Kaspersky. The main difference is that some features are not available in Kaspersky. And, for example, the patch management part is not included in Sophos. On the Kaspersky side, they have a patch management part. However, we need to purchase an additional option to enable that feature. With Comodo Protection, patch management is already included with the product, and we don't need to buy it separately. Also, the main advantage is performance. When we implemented Sophos on the endpoint, the CPU utilization went higher. When we installed Comodo, the memory of the CPU utilization is very low. We can implement Comodo from XP and SP3 to the latest operating system. However, with Kaspersky or Sophos, they are not supported for that or Windows 10. Comodo is supporting Windows XP SP3 and all our operating systems. That said, the Sophos Intercept X Advanced option has a web filtering part, or integration. Comodo has only basic filtering, and web filtering is there. That means we can do the URL web addresses and block and allow the connection and that's it with Comodo. Comodo does have a separate product for that, Comodo Secure Internet, where we can configure and filter all the web filtering parts. That would be an extra solution at an extra cost.

Good user behavioral analysis and helpful patching but needs better support services
Some of our products have a first and second line owned by us. We are giving support services to the customers instead of the vendor. Some other products are supported directly by the technology vendor, however. Technical support from the vendor is very bad. Usually, when the customer submits a ticket, they put a severity level on the case. Whenever the case is very important, and there is a real malfunction in the product on the customer side, and there is something down that needs someone to have a look immediately, it takes more time than it should to even engage with the customer. When someone has to contact the customer and have a remote session within the customer environment, they sometimes lack in terms of communication with the customer. The support centers are located in the East and not all have an acceptable level of English in order to communicate directly with the customer.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The tool is an open-source EDR with antivirus features. It also has remote support and patch management."
"It's a very easy-to-use product."
"If you open up an application or a web browser, it puts a container in a sandbox area. So if there's some malicious code, it'll stick there. It also has way better protection for ransomware because it uses heuristics that are pretty effective. We've done a lot of tests with live malware, and it works really well."
"It is a very stable solution, making it an excellent product."
"It really protects and does its job. It totally blocked every attack attempt, and no attack attempt was successful."
"The product’s valuable feature is the remote control station."
"Auto Containment is a valuable feature."
"It's user-friendly, compatible, and accessible."
"The solution is reliable."
"Automatic user recovery prior to Windows booting up."
"The product has a robust reporting feature"
"Anyone can use it, the protection is good, and they have all of the features."
"Initially, the DLP was very valuable for disabling access to USB drives."
"This product has the capability to check a wide range of vulnerabilities and devices."
"I have found the most valuable features to be the ability to manage the solution from anywhere and having an overview of the companies security."
"The reporting capabilities are a valuable feature. In enables more visibility on our network."

Cons

"Would be good to have a better understanding of what it is that you've got in quarantine."
"The quality of the analysis and the product dashboard is a bit low compared to other providers."
"The product must provide a web filter to block websites based on specific categories."
"They need to enhance the performance of the agents. Currently, the performance is going low when the agent starts a full scan. The agent is consuming a lot of resources while scanning. When there are a lot of documents to check, it slows down the endpoint. This is the only thing that worries me about Comodo, but this issue is also there in other products. It is missing DLP, and I know that they are working on adding some data loss prevention capabilities. They have added some capabilities, but these capabilities are not yet mature. I hope they will enhance these capabilities because it is important to prevent the data from going out from inside. We are protected from the outside, but we also have to be protected from the inside out."
"We'd like the solution to include advanced web filtering capabilities, similar to what Sophos offers."
"The menu could be cleaned up."
"The downside of the product stems from the fact that it is still an unknown product in the market. Comodo needs to invest more in advertisements and promotions."
"The licensing fees are high. The company should work to try to lower them for the customer."
"There are two main areas that require improvement. One is the size of the packages. Although I'll admit manageability is good, if I want to deploy, let's say just the antivirus or just the firewall, each of those package sizes are quite large. They are sometimes as big as 200MB or 250MB. When I have operations in remote areas where connectivity is always poor, it's difficult. To deploy such a package in a remote location over the internet or something like that is always challenging."
"An area of improvement for this solution is to make it easier to manage."
"The initial setup is complex. It is a very complex product. You must have experience with it."
"It would be nice if the solution was a bit more stable."
"There are times the solution has some additional software added that is not fully integrated properly, such as Exchange Group Sheild. It is quite old and is not fully integrated properly and could be improved."
"When it runs in the background of the endpoint, the devices get slowed down for some applications."
"Trellix lacked email protection when it was a McAfee product. They added this feature during the merger with FireEye, but it hasn't been fully integrated. The core features will be integrated into the next release. FireEye has several solutions for EDR and sandboxing."
"They can improve its resource consumption, such as memory, and maybe provide better or smaller updates. It always takes a lot of resources, but it has been getting better. I have been using McAfee products for the last 20 years or so, and I know it is getting better."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The tool's pricing is not very expensive and falls within the market price. The solution's licensing is on a yearly basis."
"I rate Comodo’s pricing a four out of ten."
"Generally, the cost is between $16 and $19 per endpoint."
"I rate the pricing a five on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive. The product can be considered fairly cheap."
"The price of this product should be lower."
"The product is pricey."
"Comodo Advanced Endpoint Protection is inexpensive."
"The product is very reasonably priced."
"The initial price is very good as they give good initial discounts, but it seems a little expensive once you renew the license."
"I would rate the cost as four to five, considering it's normal compared to other products. I find it nominal and worth the money."
"The pricing is great and licensing fees are billed on a yearly basis."
"It provides good value by striking a balance between cost-effectiveness and feature richness."
"Trellix may cost around $46 to $47 for a single license without an EDR."
"I rate Trellix Endpoint Security a nine out of ten for pricing."
"Trellix Endpoint Security is an inexpensive platform."
