We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The Endpoint Manager is incredible; it has a very straightforward interface and is exceedingly easy to use. Pulling out and deploying different tags or resources is a simple task across various departments with different levels of security. The notifications are also simple and satisfying; it's great to see the bubble informing us which devices are compliant and which are waiting to update.""Among the most valuable features are the alert timeline, the alert story, which is pretty detailed. It gives us complete insight into what exactly happened on the endpoint. It doesn't just say, "Malware detected." It tells us what caused that malware to be detected and how it was detected. It gives us a complete timeline from beginning to end.""The portal is quite user-friendly. There is integration with Office, Intune, and other products from the same portal. From there, we can see which policies are installed on a particular machine. We also can manage devices, groups, and tagging.""The advantage of Microsoft Defender XDR has over other XDRs in the market is that it's easy to use. You can quickly differentiate between alerts, incidents, devices, software, etc. It's easier to investigate an incident, and you have so many options. You can automate investigations and use playbooks. There's also the live response session, which is something you can't find in any other XDR.""Microsoft Defender XDR is scalable.""We are able to consolidate licences and make use of many Microsoft products using this solution. If we have any Microsoft customers, we encourage them to use this solution for enterprise defence.""The most valuable features are spam filtering, attachment filtering, and antivirus protection.""Microsoft Defender's most critical component is its CASB solution. It has many built-in policies that can improve your organization's cloud security posture. It's effective regardless of where your users are, which is critical because most users are working from home. It's cloud-based, so nothing is on-premise."

"The CrowdStrike Falcon dashboard is good, and we haven't had any problems with it.""It seems to do a pretty good job of protecting the host. It offers good insights that it gives you when it has a detection. It's pretty incredible.""Everything is automatic. I install the sensor and renew the service. Periodically, I get a notice that they've shut something down.""Cyberattack detection is very good. We use it for detecting different vulnerabilities, such as ransomware, virus, and malware. It is a good product today when compared to Symantec that we used previously.""At this point what is most valuable is the interface, which is easy to navigate.""The malware protection is the most valuable feature of CrowdStrike Falcon.""The EDR is amazing and ease of integration with Splunk is a big plus. Integration with BigQuery is also a plus for me and workflow creation is easy. Overall, CrowdStrike Falcon is a great product.""I like the vulnerability assessment and proactive hunting features of CrowdStrike Falcon."

"We can easily manage resources, disable or enable clients and update them.""ESET is better in some ways than other vendors because it fulfills many areas where we'd otherwise have to use different products.""It's helped us with restrictions and knowing which users we can provide permissions to and which users we need to restrict.""The most valuable feature of ESET Protect is the security while accessing any transaction, such as online banking systems. When I access a banking website a new browser opens which is more secure, which I find very useful.""The product enabled Zero-Day Protection for our environment. We never encountered any issues regarding threats.""The most valuable features of ESET File Security are the performance and it doesn't take too many resources.""ESET PROTECT Enterprise is reliable.""The solution offers a lot of configuration capabilities."

Cons
"The capability to not only thwart attacks but also to adapt to evolving threats is crucial.""Microsoft Defender XDR is not a full-fledged EDR or XDR.""Support is hit or miss. Microsoft wants you to buy premium support contracts. Though they call themselves professional support, it's almost like throwing questions into a black hole. You get an answer, but it's never helpful.""The data recovery and backup could be improved.""One of the biggest downsides of Microsoft products, in general, is that the menus are often difficult to find, as they tend to move from place to place between versions.""There are other SIEM solutions that are easier to use, mainly based on the creation of rules, use cases, and groups.""Microsoft frequently changes the names of its products, sometimes even renaming entire portals or features.""The solution could improve by having better machine learning and AI. Additionally, the interface, documentation, and integration could be better."

More Microsoft Defender XDR Cons →

"CrowdStrike Falcon needs to improve their host management system.""Falcon could include more integrative features.""The product could be more accurate in terms of performance.""The console is not user-friendly or visually appealing and has room for improvement.""I have experience with a product called SentinelOne, which has a feature that allows for the customization of query languages. I would like to see such a feature for CloudStrike.""They offered a white glove service that was extremely costly. When we got into it, we saw it was relatively easy. If I was being nitpicky, I'd say that I don't like being sold something that's unnecessary. That's the only downside I've seen to the solution.""CrowdStrike Falcon by itself does not supply in-depth reporting.""CrowdStrike needs to quit making up stuff about its features and functionality to bash its competition."

More CrowdStrike Falcon Cons →

"Sometimes, the connection to the machine requires troubleshooting.""I would like to see more features on the reporting side of things.""In the current version of ESET File Security, you cannot download a file, it always wants the real-time upload which you have to wait until the file is ready. This is annoying. In previous versions, you were able to use the downloaded engine.""The tool is complex and expensive.""I would like to see more in managing mobile devices in an on-premise solution. The latest news I've heard is that ESET drops mobile management module development for the on-prem version. It's moving to the cloud. Like in endpoint client protection, I would also like to see more of the vulnerability management features and additional app control functionality in ESET Protect.""Its automation can be improved.""The availability and sustainability could also be improved.""ESET Protect could improve the performance. The performance of the home computers and laptops becomes slow due to their heavy software load. It would be a benefit to make a lighter version of the software which does not have any impact on the performance of the computer's hardware."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "The solutions price is fair for what they offer."
  • "The price could be better. Normally, the costs depend on the country you're located in for the license. When we were in the initial stage, we went with the E5 license they call premium standard. It cost us around $5.20 per month for four users."
  • "The price of the solution is high compared to others and we have lost some customers because of it."
  • "Microsoft is not competitive with the pricing of the solution. The competitors are able to offer lower discounts. The price of the solution is higher."
  • "We have a lot of problems in Latin America regarding the price of Microsoft 365 Defender, because the relationship between dollars and the money of the different countries, it's is a lot. Many customers that have small businesses say that they would like the solution but it is too expensive. However, large companies do not find the cost an issue."
  • "The most valuable licensing option is expensive, so pricing could be improved. Licensing options for this solution also need to be consolidated, because they frequently change."
  • "Microsoft should provide lower-level licensing options. They should do it in such a way that even an individual could purchase a license, and it should be entirely flexible."
  • "They have moved from a licensing model to pay-per-use... The question is: What happens if, for any reason, there's not enough budget to accept this model? That could be a great problem."

  • "The pricing will depend upon your volume of usage."
  • "I would like them to further reduce the price, because it is quite pricey at the moment."
  • "Purchasing the product through the AWS Marketplace is just a click away. Since we were using the on-premise version of the product, we continued on the cloud by purchasing it through the AWS Marketplace."
  • "I do not have experience with the cost or licensing of the product."
  • "The other administrator and I can log in to check the exact details of what happened, what was running, and what caused the detection. We know exactly what was happening on the end users PC and we can tell if it's something that we actually need or something that's malicious."
  • "We are at about $60,000 per year."
  • "This solution has a very competitive price."
