An easy-to-use solution that can be used to store files in the cloud and share them with different people
Dropbox is a cloud-based solution. Dropbox is a nice solution to use if you have nothing to hide or aren't afraid that others will view some secrets because you don't know how the company protects them. If you store normal files you don't care much about, you can use Dropbox. Overall, I rate Dropbox a nine out of ten.

Great search functionality and useful co-authoring capabilities with an easy setup
The best feature is the co-authoring. Before, in Egnyte desktop sync, it didn't have the capability to co-author. Now, since you have Egnyte Connect on your machine, it gives you the capability to co-author on a single file at the same time. Now that the Egnyte vendor upgraded the version and they introduced the Egnyte Connect, there are a lot of features that they added, including co-authoring. You can also access those files and folders using your mobile device, which is good. Some of our advisors don't have a desktop or laptop, so they are just accessing their files via mobile devices or tablets. Before, in Egnyte desktop sync, you could install it on a certain server. Now, with Egnyte Connect, you can install the application on a particular server, and then you can save your file from there. The initial setup is easy. It's easy to move files around, even to, for example, SharePoint. The search functionality has been good. The user interface is great. Support is great. In Egnyte Connect, you can add more domains if you want to access files and folders.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The initial setup is extremely easy."
"Dropbox offers helpful functionalities for business purposes, such as receiving file requests from external parties like customers who don't have an account. Additionally, it includes features, such as reminders and workflow capabilities."
"Dropbox has a simple interface, and it's pretty straightforward."
"The setup was straightforward."
"It's very easy to use and quite accessible for everybody."
"The scalability is great for us."
"The initial setup is simple and straightforward."
"Stability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten."
"Egnyte Connect is a great application to save files."
"It is a good storage solution."
"It provides a way to granularly choose which folders from the internet you want to sync to your computer. It is really useful for people who are working on teams that are working with files that are frequently changing. You can go in and pretty clearly see what changes have been made. It gives you a constant feed."
"From a small firm perspective, Egnyte Connect is simple, it is easy to get users up and running the same day, and I have nothing negative to say about the software. I can't speak to how Egnyte Connect would operate in a midsize company or even a large Fortune 500 company, but, from our perspective as a small business, it is fantastic."
"It is scalable and stable."
"It's easy to move files around, even to, for example, SharePoint."
"You can really do a lot of cool things with it in terms of being able to co-author and share documents with users that are not in your organization."

Cons

"2 Gb of free space and then a not so cheap subscription (also if the competitors have similar proposals for customers)."
"Security could be enhanced."
"I find it a little hard to organize my Dropbox folders on my mobile device."
"It could be more secure."
"They can provide more storage. Data is something that everybody is after. Any organization that has the requirement of data for any type of analysis will definitely need increased storage."
"The mobile aspect of the solution needs improvement. For instance, if I want to use a file from Dropbox on my phone, I sometimes struggle to download images off of Dropbox. The solution lacks accessibility on different devices."
"I would like to see more storage included and more lessons on how to optimize it."
"Dropbox could probably be improved around the integrated security, but those options are probably available. I don't have much of a view on improvements, based on the relatively few occasions that I use it."
"The issue of my authorization token expiring pretty quickly was pretty annoying. On pretty much every update, it would expire on every computer. On every computer update, at the first opportunity, it would expire. When my computer got updated or the authorization got cut, my saved drives would get messed up. So, I had to reconnect them all. I was never able to set up a useful drive system with my local computer with Egnyte Connect. It would be a big improvement if there was a cached system so that when it loses connection, it can still save what kind of connections were set up, and when it reconnects, it repopulates all those. I don't know if that's even possible, but that's the feature I'd want."
"You cannot delete a file when you have uploaded it in error."
"Before, when we were starting to use Egnyte, we were struggling with a lot of bugs with Egnyte desktop sync."
"As of right now, I have everything that I and my team need."
"If this solution had a better ability to search, that would be helpful. In addition, if there was an ability to collaborate, that would also be a benefit. At present, the vision control is had because if someone gets out of it, it locks. And, whoever saves last overrides everyone's work."
"It would be nice to see an integration of using an active directory to validate and authenticate users on our end as well as on the client user's end."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing for non-corporations is expensive. They have raised their prices and have low storage capacity."
"It has some free features, but for some of the features, you need to pay. If you need more storage, then you need to pay. Its licensing probably is on a monthly basis."
"I believe I pay around $5 per month for the license."
"There is a subscription-based pricing model and I pay monthly."
"I find their pricing to be fairly standard and competitive when compared to the rest of the market."
"The solution allows one only a certain amount of free storage, but he must pay for a subscription, perhaps on a six-month basis, if he wishes to maintain this."
"We are using the free version of Dropbox which has approximately two gigabytes of data capacity."
"We pay a monthly subscription fee."
"I do not have experience with the pricing of this solution."
"As far as I understand, licenses are associated with the Egnyte platform. There aren't any licenses associated with Egnyte Connect."

Try using Synology 1517+ which comes with bundle of software and one of them is SFTP which is secure and run with Linux. This solution address the requirements for FTP, FIle Share, Cloud Sync, etc. A single box can be deployed with multiple functionalities. I have used 1517+ with 5 X 10 TB disks with usable 35 TB (RAID 6) and cost approximately 2500 $. Below URLs for your reference. https://ww...
