An easy-to-use solution that can be used for total business operation, but its pricing should be improved
We use Epicor ERP for our total business operation Epicor ERP is an easy-to-use solution. There are some glitches in Epicor ERP. Epicor ERP should add some automations. I have been using Epicor ERP for the past six years. Epicor ERP is a stable solution. More than 300 users are using the…

Simplifies finance processes and is easy to use but requires a user-friendly interface
JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is a user-friendly ERP solution that is quite simple. It has a very straightforward interface, which allows end users, especially those with a finance background like me, to engage in finance areas such as vouchers, manual vouchers, email receipts, and GL analysis efficiently. This ERP system is easy to handle; anyone can learn it faster compared to other ERPs. For smaller companies or startups, I would recommend JD Edwards.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The ability to deploy a generic implementation without advanced customization."
"There's good flexibility within the inbuilt tools such as alerts, business process management, dashboards, and screen customization."
"Epicor ERP is very technical friendly, if you want to do any customization, it's very easy."
"The most valuable features of Epicor ERP are ease of use, powerful API, and comprehensive integration. It is a one-vendor solution, where other vendors need other software systems from multiple vendors."
"The solution is great for production planning because everything is out of the box. It smoothly handles the process from engineering to ERP, including version management and subcontracting. These features aren't in NetSuite."
"The product enables users to customize their dashboards and reports."
"I find the job management features of Epicor ERP most useful, especially for material planning. The ERP gives a perfect overview of many aspects. The scheduling is also helpful. It lets us see what we're planning and try different scenarios. For real-time analytics, I use it mostly for planning and "what if" scenarios."
"Dashboards and Business Activity Query are very useful."
"Overall, I would rate the solution nine out of ten, as it can be customized to the company's needs while maintaining best practices."
"The 1V reporting is straightforward and simple to use. Creating 1V reports does not require any technical knowledge."
"The product has been stable so far."
"The solution’s Accounts Payable and Procurement modules are the most stable and quite useful compared to other finance modules."
"The financials are great."
"I think it is strong in sales, inventory, and pricing."
"JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is a user-friendly ERP solution that is quite simple."
"The solution excels in costing and work order processing. JD Edwards EnterpriseOne manages multiple manufacturing modes in the same process effectively."

Cons

"A number of bugs in 9.05 were only fixed in 10."
"The UI is quite logical, but it needs time to train users because some functions are complex to understand. As for cons, some calculation logic is difficult to grasp and requires time to test and try out. Creating dashboards or reports needs some technical IT knowledge."
"Epicor didn't care about user level and software applications. So, it's not so user-friendly for nontechnical people."
"Right now, it doesn't really have a good cloud story."
"There are some glitches in Epicor ERP."
"The tool should provide a better user interface."
"In the newer version of Epicor ERP, it's very difficult to find out that tracing."
"There's a new version of the solution that has some bugginess. They're cleaning that up. The user interface is an area that needs improvement and they're improving."
"The flexibility of workflows and multi-industry implementation support should be improved."
"What would make JD Edwards EnterpriseOne better is more straightforward project implementation, including reducing the costs associated with upgrading projects."
"The solution could be easier to implement. However, the complexity was in our internal processes meeting our country's requirements. Every country has a slightly different process, taxation, and rules. That was the difficult part, not the solution itself. I expect our experience would have been more or less the same with any ERP, such as SAP, Navision, or Dynamics."
"Financial side could be expanded by bringing in things like the IMS."
"For large or sophisticated organizations, I would not recommend JD Edwards."
"From the operation perspective, it could offer more functionality for the APIs."
"Treasury management is typically used in forex, loans, trade management and property management is not available. The solution could improve if they added them."
"The only issue I see is Oracle's lack of focus on the product. When the sales team calls us, they try to promote OCI more than JD Edwards EnterpriseOne. They don't even talk about it. I feel there's no focus from Oracle Corporation themselves. The salespeople either don't know about it or don't talk about it. When they have something new, they only talk about EBS or OCI. This gives a feeling that there's no interest from Oracle. We don't see much new functionality being released or announced in the roadmap."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The initial cost may be a bit high, but the maintenance cost is lower."
"We bought an on-premise version of the solution. The cloud version is different. I've looked into it, but it's very competitive on the low end of the market."
"Pricing isn't a big problem for the solution - I haven't seen them lose deals because of it."
"When comparing Epicor ERP to the other related products, the pricing, additional enhancements, as well as implementation, are better."
"User support could be improved as well, as the consultant charges are very high."
"Epicor ERP is an expensive solution."
"The solution’s pricing depends on the module you’re purchasing."
"The licensing costs are on a yearly basis, and there are no additional costs."
"JD Edwards EnterpriseOne has a lot of value for the money. The implementation cost and license cost are quite reasonable compared to other solutions, such as Oracle EBS or SAP."
"The solution's pricing depends on the deal and the number of users."
"It's very competitively priced. The only problem now is that most of the industry is moving towards software as a service or a subscription model, whereas JD Edwards has a capital expenditure. You would spend on the licenses once off. You can either host it on-premise or in the cloud, but there is a licensing fee once a year."
"The price of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne is high. However, every ERP solution has a high price."
"The price of the solution is not cheap. However, it is priced average amongst competitors."
"The cost depends on the number of users and the modules required."
