Easy to set up with good security and rapidly improving capabilities
In terms of stability, the performance parameters do come into play. It's good on the regular office front, however, on the development side, if somebody is using it in a development environment, they need to make some configuration changes in terms of what directories should be excluded from the real-time scanning. I had to do that kind of stuff. I don't do that with the Microsoft product, for example. It runs, and it scans the entire system with no issues. The solution is stable. Regular updates were available in the product versions. They were updated, and they gave regular signature updates also so that the product checked all the boxes.

Effortless to use and is one of the easiest products to deploy
Huntress is effortless to use. It's one of the easiest products to deploy. Pushing out through our RMM is simple, and using it is straightforward once it's on a machine. The end user doesn't have to do anything. Everything comes back to us. I love that the alerts are human-curated. They take a look at alerts before we get them. Other products are very noisy. They'll send you an alert about anything. About 95 percent of those alerts go to Huntress first. They check to make sure that it's real and only alert us if it's actionable, something that requires our attention. When I get an alert from Huntress, it must be looked at. I love that. It saves a ton of time for my people. It can fix low-severity threats. Their team is 24/7, whereas my team is not. We want them to take action on known bad things. Sometimes, that means fixing the problem or isolating the machine so multiple machines aren't getting hit. I love that they can address those issues within a very short time.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution is stable."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is that it is easy to use and maintain while also being fully encrypted."
"This is a product at the top of its game. That is the reason we choose to support and sell it."
"I rate ESET Endpoint Security eight out of 10 for ease of setup. Setting up ESET can be straightforward or complicated depending on the customer's environment. The deployment time varies, but it's typically around five days. We have a team of four or five people involved in the deployment. Only one person is needed for maintenance. The only maintenance is adjusting the configuration of the dashboard."
"We use ESET, which is pretty much perfect for us. It is also absolutely simple and automatic once setup."
"ESET provides good protection."
"I have found the ESET Management Console very good. It gives me many features, such as managing users and installing a new version."
"Ransomware protection is embedded in the solution."
"It is very easy to use. It is a great solution. They are one of the better vendors that I have ever worked with since I have been in the industry."
"Huntress helps us replace traditional antivirus solutions with an EDR. I like how easy it is to use and deploy. Support is good- they've responded quickly when I've had issues. I like it a lot so far. It reports valuable information and filters out things I don't need to know."
"Huntress helps by highlighting potential issues, allowing us to take proactive measures."
"It is incredibly efficient for our engineering team because Huntress provides all the information needed to fix issues, not just flag them."
"The most valuable aspect of Huntress is its 24/7 SOC service."
"The most valuable aspect of Huntress is its ability to isolate legacy systems from the network, preventing the spread of threats."
"The EDR product is simple to install. It is low maintenance. All the alerts go to Huntress first, and their analyst team reviews them and sends actionable things our way."
"The solution's most valuable feature is that it has a manned security operation center, not AI-driven."

Cons

"If I were in an environment that required a large-scale deployment then I would choose another solution over ESET."
"I am a MAC user and my asset cybersecurity is continuously displaying warnings that I am not using their firewall."
"Everything has some kind of room for improvement."
"The management of the solution isn't as clear as it could be. They could adjust that to make it a better product."
"We have experienced some problems with the actualization of some endpoints. We then have to manually reinstall the version on these endpoints."
"Online security could still be improved in ESET Endpoint Antivirus because security is threatened by phishing."
"The interface is good. However, it could always be better. It could be more user-friendly."
"I used Avira previously and ESET lacks certain aspects in comparison to Avira."
"In the next release, I'd like to see more intuitive dashboards."
"The application control system could benefit from improvements in identifying and managing both whitelisted and blacklisted applications."
"The integration with our RMM could be better."
"One area for improvement in Huntress would be to allow for PSA integration from a specific IP address or hostname for better security measures."
"The existing features are perfect. However, I think they could add a more robust set of security features like dark web scanning, penetration testing, and risk assessment for clients. We would have one tool for everything. We wouldn't have to go to multiple vendors to pull something together. That would be more beneficial for us."
"I am anxiously watching to see how they evolve their MDR for Office 365. If anything, I would like more automated remediation capabilities in their MDR for Office 365."
"The solution's UI is an area with certain shortcomings that need improvement."
"We need an API to automatically retrieve metrics and data about backend activity so we can generate client reports."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price could be lower, but it's comparable, as other solutions have a similar price for the same effect."
"I do a two or three-year license for less than $100."
"There is a license needed to use this solution and there is an annual subscription. The price is inexpensive."
"It is not expensive; the pricing model is fine."
"Pricing of ESET Endpoint Security is within the market pricing."
"ESET is cheap."
"The license is annually, and the price is low compared to competitors."
"The price of ESET Endpoint Security is in the middle range of price compared to other solutions. For example, BitDefender can be more expensive."
"The pricing is competitive, in line with Huntress's offerings, and aligns well with our business model."
"The solution's pricing is fair."
"We haven't had any problems with Huntress' pricing. We're at 250 workstations, and we've grown considerably this year. They've been able to handle everything that we've thrown at them within that time frame. They're also reducing the price based on how many endpoints we add."
"Huntress is an easy sell to clients because it does all the heavy lifting. Sometimes, they will buck a little at the price because they want a free antivirus or EDR. We tell them that we use Huntress on all our machines. That is our standard process for all the machines we roll out. When we give that advice, people are pretty willing to say okay."
"It is fair. They provide good value for the product that they deliver. I have had one price increase in the entire time I have used them. They added a bunch of features and then said that they have to increase our price a little bit. That is a fair way to handle it."
"It works well for an MSP."
"The solution is cheap compared to other alternatives. It offers good value for money. For the whole solution, it's up to about five pounds per device per month. Considering what it does, I think that's very good value."
"The pricing model for Huntress is similar to competitors and is charged per endpoint."
