Provides enhanced email security with potential agent compatibility issues
There are definitely features that Fortinet should work on. I'm not the right person to implement those features. For a portable cloud solution, a customer has more affinity towards a solution where endpoint security is already in place. In endpoint security, they are not at the latest quadrant. That is why a customer with existing endpoint security solutions like Trend Micro might prefer a main security solution from that vendor. If we go for FortiMail Cloud and have a separate endpoint security solution, there are two agents that have to sit on a customer endpoint. From that perspective, Fortinet policies add an extra load to the endpoint. Maybe other solutions have an advantage when it comes to Fortinet.

Provides a powerful and simple email protection with proven management benefits
Sophos Email is integrated with Office 365 and Google Workspace. It offers anti-spam functionality, which is easy to manage and comes with documentation on how to integrate it with Office 365 and Google Workspace. It provides a defense layer for email protection, scanning every incoming and outbound email for malware and spam. It can also function temporarily as an email solution if my vendor from Office 365 or Google Workspace is out of service.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The scanners with FortiMail are valuable."
"If there is a problem somewhere Fortinet can act on it immediately. That is very important."
"The encryption features are most valuable to us."
"Content disarming and analysis are essential features in our email security setup"
"Fortinet and other software ensure that my company's email remains safe, helping to avoid access issues at some cost in production."
"The most valuable feature of this solution is the ability to check to see if the email is real."
"Fortinet's support is really good."
"Cost-wise, it's a bit expensive, but it's totally worth it."
"I found the user interface friendly."
"When you say email security, it's about everything, incoming email, outgoing email, spam, phishing emails, unwanted marketing emails. You can set rules, but the main feature of Sophos Email is to make sure you don't get hacked. 95% of people who are hacked do not get hacked by typing the router password. They are hacked from the inside out, which means they send you a document that is a zero-day attack, you open it, nothing happens, but technically the attack is running in the background of your computer. This is how they gain access to your PC."
"Our client recently received many emails, and their employees didn't realize these emails were phishing attempts. Consequently, they clicked on them and fell victim to the attack. Therefore, it is important to secure their system with Sophos Email Security."
"The most significant aspect is the response filtering concerning attachments and links."
"Sophos Email provides both inbound and outbound filtering."
"Endpoint and server protection are very effective."
"It's easy to use and the configuration is straightforward."
"I find the comprehensive features of Sophos Email most valuable."

Cons

"The URL filtering and handling should be enhanced because it doesn't support all languages. I believe that this would be easy to enhance in the future."
"The product could be improved by extending reporting tools and adding options for notification."
"It is slightly difficult to configure FortiMail in the cloud with Exchange on-premise, especially the quarantine mailbox access for end-users."
"The setup of the rules can be improved. I think it should be simplified and would be the best improvement in the system."
"I've not been able to use more than two domains in the back end. I like to view logs for the different domains. If I add any other domain I'm not able to get a proper cPanel for that domain. I am talking about the login factors. I'm not able to see logs for different domains in a different Window. Basically, it's an issue in the login process."
"The dashboard could use improvement."
"I would like to see more advanced sandbox features, where you can actually download to a machine where you can test."
"In endpoint security, they are not at the latest quadrant. That is why a customer with existing endpoint security solutions like Trend Micro might prefer a main security solution from that vendor."
"Their technical support is slow to respond."
"A lot of legit emails get quarantined."
"There have been some issues with compatibility and effectiveness, particularly when integrating it with our firewall. The main challenge has been email protection, especially due to compatibility issues and difficulties with log access and email relay configuration."
"The tool’s stability should be improved."
"Sophos Email needs to increase the number of promos."
"It was sometimes hard to find the settings in the solution's interface."
"The security of the solution could improve."
"However, the setup was tricky, particularly with the DNS routing between Microsoft Exchange Online and Sophos cloud services. It took me about four attempts to get it working correctly. Despite that, Sophos Email does everything we need, so we don't require any additional capabilities now."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"You only have to purchase one license for multiple participants."
"It should cost around $60,000. We bought it as a bundle, so everything comes together in the license. That is standard."
"A license for our company using FortiMail and FortiCare (filtering and support) was $4000."
"The pricing depends on various factors, including the type of licenses and subscriptions you have procured"
"The licensing is for three years. In the beginning, we did not pay monthly, it was paid once for three years."
"When we're talking about pricing, other products have about the same price. That is normal."
"The product's price is reasonable."
"I see how manageable and flexible the licenses are."
"The solution is expensive."
"I would rate the pricing of Sophos Email as a six. It is considered affordable as a standalone product, and there are no additional costs besides licensing. The pricing is fixed."
"The product is cheaper compared to other solutions."
"The pricing is affordable, so I’d rate it around a four out of ten on the pricing scale. We pay about fifty pounds a month, including hardware so that costs may differ without it."
"The platform is inexpensive. It offers a cost-effective licensing model. We purchase its yearly license."
"Sophos Email is neither cheap nor expensive."
"I rate the price of Sophos Email a four out of five."
"I rate the product's pricing a seven out of ten."

The solution's identity proxy feature is very good and reliable.
