Used for endpoint security, ransomware protection, virus protection, and server security
Intercept X Endpoint is deployed on the cloud in our organization. Previously, we had two ransomware attacks when we were using Kaspersky as an endpoint security. We didn't face any ransomware attacks after using Intercept X Endpoint for endpoint security. Intercept X Endpoint has simplified our malware detection. Since we have already implemented the policies in the cloud, all the malware is automatically detected. The solution also detects and removes new malware that can also come from the cloud AI engine. Integrating Intercept X Endpoint with our current security infrastructure was very easy. In my opinion, Sophos is a better solution because we are using Sophos endpoint security and network security. These two things sync with each other and monitor the packets and network traffic. No other vendor has simultaneous devices to check everything. I would recommend the solution to other users. Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

Solid security and performance; overall a useful tool
We use Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response for different in-depth solutions. It's a useful tool when you want everything in one module and you don't have a big budget for security. Other use cases are behavior detection, policy management, assessments, and patch fixings The most valuable…

Pros

"This solution offers very good performance and it has great features."
"Very stable solution."
"It is a very scalable solution."
"The security on offer is pretty good. We are happy with it."
"The key factor that attracted me to Sophos Intercept X was the multi-platform. I have multiple clients that have mixed environments of Mac and Windows. I am able to deliver a standard solution, regardless of the platform."
"The most valuable features are the anti-ransomware engine, deep learning, web filtering, and the cloud manageability."
"The thing that I like about it is the synchronized security. You can tie endpoint protection and firewalls and a whole range of other services and products. You can get your servers taken in under this."
"The forensics within the solution are quite good. The ransomware mitigation is also impressive."
"The most valuable feature is Endpoint's management."
"The detection engine running on endpoints works very well and provides a good protection level."
"The solution does a good job of filtering and blocking unusual traffic."
"It's scalable enough for us."
"The solution's most valuable features are that it offers very strong encryption and acts as an antivirus product."
"The content filtering options are good."
"The most valuable feature of Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response is security. It has better security than other solutions, such as Symantec."
"Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response is an effective protection solution."

Cons

"The policies could be nicer to manage."
"We would like to deploy across a variety of machines simultaneously through the network."
"Sophos Intercept X could improve on its setup process. They could make it easier to have a baseline set up for the system, or at least provide more understanding of what the baseline is when you first install it. This could be a matter of lack of training on my part, but it's difficult to receive training on solutions that are not Cisco. Cisco is the only vendor with classes or courses."
"I have not done it, but integrating it with authenticating the users on the Windows system looks a bit complicated to me. It could be because I don't understand it."
"Better protection in the endpoint, server, and mobile is needed."
"It's a challenge to do system maintenance work on a notebook. You always have to disable Sophos first."
"We've had difficulty with uninstalling the solution. When we try to uninstall an old version of the basic Sophos Antivirus, it doesn't seem to uninstall completely."
"When there is an event generated by either the firewall or Intercept X, and the originating IP address is the same, these should be merged into a single event rather than two."
"We would like to have better strategic information."
"An area for improvement in Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response is its technical support because currently, technical support is delayed."
"My opinion is that behavior detection could work better. This feature gets a high rate of false positives."
"Documentation needs to be simplified and improved so that it provides good product awareness for end users."
"There's room for improvement in customer service and support. The response time when I open a ticket or communicate with the vendor could be faster."
"Could include some additional protection."
"Installing Kaspersky is complex. It requires more work from system admins and takes almost one week to deploy, including integration and mapping with other solutions. You also have to configure Kaspersky EDR sandboxing then set up permissions for various teams and customers."
"It is not easy to follow the kill chain of a potential infection or malware."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Licensing costs are not expensive."
"I have found the price of Sophos Intercept X to be reasonable."
"It was fairly and reasonably priced."
"Licensing is based on the number of users. They give a discount for editors who are considered as important members. From what I know, Sophos products are not expensive. If you have a license extension, you just need to contact the editor or partner to change the mode of licensing or extend the license to cover more people."
"You can purchase a license for one to three years."
"As I am not responsible for paying the bills I cannot comment on the pricing."
"We are happy with the pricing across all Sophos products."
"There is a license required to use this solution."
"Kaspersky is licensed on a yearly basis."
"EDR is priced on the cheaper side. Licensing for EDR is available on a yearly basis for around 80 SAR a year."
"The product has a valuable pricing model. We need to purchase its monthly subscription."
"The price of the solution could be reduced."
"The pricing is reasonable. Not too cheap, not too expensive."
"The solution isn't the cheapest considering what you get. I would rate the pricing as seven out of ten."
"Pricing for Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response is so-so when you compare it with its competitors. Its pricing isn't cheap nor expensive."
"We were on a three-year license to use Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response. The price could be better."
