We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"We have FortiEDR installed on all our systems. This protects them from any threats.""The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers.""The main thing is that I feel safe. Because the processes that have been used to get a handle on the attackers are much better than other competitors""It is stable and scalable.""The product's initial setup phase is very easy.""Having all monitoring, response, tracking, and mitigation tools in one dashboard provides our analysts and SOC team with a comprehensive view at a glance.""he solution is an anti-malware product that integrates well with other vendor products such as firewalls, SIEM, etc. It captures threat intelligence and gives you better visibility. The product also has sandboxing features.""Ability to get forensics details and also memory exfiltration."

"It is scalable.""The interface is quite user-friendly.""If you're an Intune user, you can bring in certain capabilities like system-hardening policies, which further enhances the security.""A few things are valuable. One is the alerting we see when any kind of intrusion is happening, any kind of malware is being deployed across the endpoints, or any kind of suspicious activity is going on. We have a footprint across all of North America, Canada, and Mexico, so we want to make sure that all our endpoints are protected and we are able to look for any anomalous activity.""Microsoft Defender for Business is good for small and medium-sized businesses. It offers solid security flexibility and integration with tools like Microsoft Lighthouse and some other software. It takes some of the features of Defender for Endpoint EDR and provides those services for small and medium-sized business environments."

"McAfee EndPoint Security has a lot of good features that work well if they are implemented properly.""It's quite easy to install agents.""The most valuable feature is the centralized console where everything can be controlled by the administration.""The most valuable feature is ease of use.""Threat prevention is valuable because most clients use other solutions like antivirus as part of web protection. I don't find that kind of solution useful.""The package of protection that it provides is useful. It has antivirus, malware protection, VPN, and a whole bunch of other features.""The most valuable feature of Trellix Endpoint Security is containment, which takes less than a minute.""Tech support is responsive. They're good, the very best."

Cons
"The solution's installation from a central installation server could be improved because the engineers had a little bit of trouble getting it installed from a central location.""FortiEDR could add a separate scanning dashboard. In incident management, we prefer to remove the endpoint system from the environment and scan the system. We typically use Symantec for that, but if we want to use FortiEDR for that, then we need a scanning tab to clarify things.""We'd like to see more one-to-one product presentations for the distribution channels.""The solution should address emerging threats like SQL injection.""The EDR console should have more extensive reporting. You shouldn't need to purchase FortiAnalyzer. It should be included in the EDR part. The security adviser cloud platform could be improved with more options for exclusive or intensive rules for devices.""The solution is not user-friendly.""The support needs improvement.""The SIEM could be improved."

More Fortinet FortiEDR Cons →

"Defender's threat protection should be fine-tuned to reduce false positives. It could be more targeted, reflecting a continuous evolution in detecting. Also, it could be easier to integrate into other environments.""The security could always be improved.""Defender's reporting is rather scattered, and its URL filtering mechanism doesn't really work.""We faced some issues while running some applications on Mac.""The biggest one is that Defender needs to be more proactive to the emerging threats. There can be tighter integration with email, especially how it integrates with our email system, which is the Microsoft Outlook suite. There should be the ability to react a lot quicker to emerging threats because sometimes, it takes a few days before some of these new threats are fully identified, and we need that to be a few hours."

More Microsoft Defender for Business Cons →

"We would like to see all the features available on cloud.""The solution needs to offer better local technical support.""Its pricing needs to be improved.""It can be quite complicated to learn McAfee Endpoint Security and to feel comfortable with the environment.""It didn't work well for some of the use cases. We have different use cases for each entity. Their support is also not good and needs improvement.""The solution's technical support should be improved since we faced a lot of issues with the support. There were some delays in responses from the technical support.""The security of this solution needs improvement.""Trellix lacked email protection when it was a McAfee product. They added this feature during the merger with FireEye, but it hasn't been fully integrated. The core features will be integrated into the next release. FireEye has several solutions for EDR and sandboxing."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by Fortinet FortiEDR users.

An Owner at a security firm says, "The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers. The customer has literally about 800 cash registers. That was the use case for Fortinet FortiEDR - to get that down into a tiny space. The only way to do that was to use this product because it had that ability to unbundle services that were a surplus.”

Chandan M., Chief Technical Officer at Provision Technologies LLP, mentions, “The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration.” He also adds, “The security is also very good and the firewall response is good.”

Harpreet S., Information Technology Support Specialist at Chemtrade Logistics, explains, "It notifies us if there's any suspicious file on any PC. If any execution or similar kind of thing is happening, it just alerts us. It doesn't only alert. It also blocks the execution until we allow it. We check whether the execution is legitimate or not, and then approve it or keep it blocked. This gives us a little bit of control over this mechanism. Fortinet FortiEDR is also very straightforward and easy to maintain."

DeAndre V., Senior Network Administrator at a financial services firm, states, “The dashboard is easy to follow and use. The deployment and uninstalling were easy. I like the detailed information about the path of a file that might be suspicious. Being able to check that out was easy to follow. Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance.

    Reviews from Real Users

“It has a great console. We can manage everything from the central console and it is very easy. Every year we are getting the benefits of legacy also. It's easy to set up.” - S Fazlul H., IT Lead Engineer, Information Technology at Banglalink

“There is a new feature where you can set thresholds for all the CPU consumption allowing for no consumption on the servers when the scans happen. It is a separate plugin or addon, and if we have it on all the virtual machines it automatically checks the resources, and based on that, it will schedule the scans. That is something that I have not seen in other antivirus solutions, such as Symantec.” - Sabari K. Senior Engineer at a comms service provider
