Suitable for OCI environment but needs to improve pricing
We haven’t had any problems with the setup of Oracle. The deployment will take less than seven to ten days since it can give good reports. For deployment, we first need to understand the customer requirements and build the architecture around the deployment. We have the customer sign off on it and then go into the software deployment side. This is the proper life cycle of how to do it in the enterprise space. There are a lot of thoughts around the initial way or how we need to structure and architect the environment. For enterprises, it is a complex process. It will take one to two months to have all the sign-offs before we can go into implementation. It is followed across all the installations. I rate the initial setup of the solution a ten out of ten.

The implementation cycle has been reduced significantly but has room for integration enhancements
Our existing customers who are on ECC are on-premises. They are migrating to SAP Cloud Platform, specifically on S4HANA.  One of our clients was on SAP ECC on-premises, and they are moving to the cloud on S4HANA on the public cloud system.  We are supporting about 15 customers, mostly small to…

Pros

"The product gives you independence from hardware onsite, the setup is easy, and there is no need for hardware maintenance."
"OCI's best features are its price, databases, and Linux compatibility."
"The product helps us to use it as a central ERP and HCM."
"I haven't experienced any instability or downtime in Oracle Cloud over the past three years. It is scalable The support team was good. The initial setup is straightforward to configure. I rate the solution a nine out of ten with ten being the highest."
"The most valuable feature is the reporting service."
"The pricing isn't too bad."
"The solution is easy to use."
"Oracle is valuable for improving performance and addressing issues between the nodes of clusters for private IPs. It provides a private connection between the client and the security cluster."
"The product is very stable."
"We primarily utilize SAP's ERP capabilities."
"The dashboard provides pretty good clarity."
"The ability to build custom applications on the BTP platform, reducing customization on the SAP HANA system and improving performance and management."
"The product improved our company's business operations since we got value out of it."
"I rate the solution's scalability an eight out of ten. My company has 800 users."
"The tool's most valuable aspects are the niche technologies and the latest editions. The way these updates are rolled out makes it easy to manage because clients and customers are not responsible for keeping everything up to date. It's SAP's responsibility, which makes it much easier to take advantage of the new features they roll out every month."
"The mobile access capability is very beneficial."

Cons

"I would like the Oracle Cloud Platform to have a more user-friendly UI similar to Microsoft Azure."
"Technical support could be a bit better."
"The functionalities could be simplified as it is a bit difficult to learn."
"Oracle Cloud's support could be improved because its second-line support has weak engineers who handle stuff a little bit slowly."
"There's one app I have to install on my device, the Articulate Player app. It's only available on Apple and Android, but it's not available for Windows. I can't run the program on my desktop, to use it to learn Java."
"I work with many clouds and I would say, in comparison, others have a better presentation of services and they have clearer steps in terms of implementation."
"The price of the subscription is too high and excludes some potential customers."
"Specific to the Oracle Cloud; while they have been able to showcase inbuilt features for Oracle applications, what doesn't really come across clearly is what happens when you want to host, work with, or integrate with applications outside of the Oracle stack."
"There is a lot of room for improvement in customer service and support. The availability of knowledgeable support to the implementation partners and the customers could be better."
"The price of the solution could improve."
"In person, when the development happens, we were told that it's flexible and customizable. However, sometimes, it's challenging to customize."
"What I would like to see improved is the learning curve."
"From what I understand, the SAP Cloud Platform is for implementation on AWS or Azure, and it's not meant to be a full-fledged cloud solution, so while using the platform, an area for improvement is that it has fewer offerings and is less flexible when compared to AWS. AWS has a lot more flexibility than the SAP Cloud Platform. I've also used Azure in college and AWS in between, and I prefer AWS over the SAP Cloud Platform. The only reason I would ever stick with the SAP Cloud Platform is to create applications integrated with SAP or with other companies within SAP, such as SuccessFactors. When you go into the SAP Cloud Platform web page, it's a bit bland and has relatively limited offerings. For example, there doesn't seem to be in-house MongoDB support, but I realize there's in-house support for the PostgreSQL database, so there are fewer offerings in the SAP Cloud Platform. Yes, you can always go for a database on the actual MongoDB server rather than depending on the offerings of the SAP Cloud Platform. However, it's still better to support MongoDB from the platform, so payment is consolidated, rather than going to a different location to make a payment. Another room for improvement in the SAP Cloud Platform is the need to create an SAP subaccount if you need to use the platform unless you have an SSO login by Google or if you're using a different identity provider such as Microsoft or Google. Instead of requiring dependency on SAP, it would be good if users could use the SAP Cloud Platform even without a subaccount on SAP. For example, when hosting an application on AWS or Azure, you don't have to create an account in Amazon or Microsoft. You can still do it using Google. You can use almost anything, so I'd like SAP to improve by removing the dependency, particularly the requirement to create an SAP account to use the SAP Cloud Platform."
"When I started looking at the client's IT architecture, I started by doing a study of their services, DVM, data volume, and management services. According to the results, they could be a lot better at this."
"I would like to see more and better support for data transformations."
"The product's price is an area of concern where improvements are required."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing is the best."
"The price is middling; it's not the most expensive product, but there is still some room for it to be more flexible."
"Oracle offers universal credit and pay-as-you-go options."
"Costing depends on if you have an existing license for the application and for the operating system."
"The price of the solution should be reduced to a price that people can afford."
"Make sure you read the fine print."
"My ROI has increased."
"Oracle Cloud Platform has a decent pricing model."
"The pricing can be negotiated."
"SAP Cloud Platform Integration is an expensive product. I rate its pricing an eight out of ten."
"On a scale of one to ten, where one is a high price, and ten is a low price, I rate the pricing a six or seven."
"The tool could get too pricey...Small enterprises that want to leverage the tool's features will have difficulty in utilizing the solution."
"I discovered that the SAP Cloud Platform is affordable, contrary to the impression that it's expensive. The pricing for extra packages or messages is quite reasonable, especially for things like message throughput and processing."
"The solution is worth the money."
"Cost-wise, I'm unsure of how expensive the SAP Cloud Platform is."
"SAP provides good discounts."
