Allows you to generate reports, easy integration and offers out-of-the-box support
The limitation of HCM compared to new-era human capital management solutions is the cost. While those solutions offer similar features at a lower price, they are not typically used by large enterprises. However, for small and medium enterprises, the HCM licensing and maintenance costs are quite high. There are numerous solutions like Zoho and Odoo that offer subscription models at a much lower cost, even as low as $10. This significantly impacts SAP's market share, especially among smaller businesses. The high cost is the main reason why it's not widely adopted by smaller businesses. Currently, it's largely used by big enterprises, and only a small percentage of SAP users actually utilize HCM, even though they might be using other SAP modules. The small organizations are not keen on using it.

Plenty of modules, useful bulk transfers, and scales well
I used SAP SuccessFactors prior to ZingHR. The main difference between ZingHR and SAP SuccessFactors is SAP SuccessFactors has a huge, dynamic UI. Admins have more control over fields, access, and permissions. Additionally, if the administrators are experienced they can make more customization within the system themselves. They do not need to approach the company or consultant. However, ask for the company to make necessary field corrections, or make certain changes for us. SAP SuccessFactors is not a perfect solution either, it has room for improvement. They are missing payroll as part of the core modules, you have to purchase it separately which can add to more costs. I prefer SAP SuccessFactors because it is good overall, dynamic, and it is evolving every quarter, every six months.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"SAP HCM can handle a large number of employees. We can easily process payrolls and check the arrangements, and the client can also check the performance of the employees. Additionally, it has some advanced features."
"I feel SAP HCM is very competitive and worth the investment given its capability to integrate modules and provide comprehensive value."
"The payroll function in SAP HCM has been most beneficial for managing global workforces. We plan to use goal management and KPI features to link to payroll through the SAP SuccessFactors module."
"Scalability is excellent, and I would rate it ten out of ten."
"The tool's most valuable features for our HR operations include easy reporting capabilities, which allow us to generate reports for management meetings and auditing purposes. Additionally, it supports appointment preparation and processing benefits."
"I think HCM was the most stable for me...It is a very scalable product."
"The most valuable feature is the Personnel Administration."
"The payroll suite is very valuable."
"The solution is a cloud HRMS, which makes it a self-sufficient model. You can do a lot of things without taking anybody's help."
"The most valuable feature of ZingHR is the data bulk uploading and downloading."

Cons

"SAP HCM needs to be more customizable to fit unique organizational processes."
"SAP HCM has many different channels for communication with the consultants which makes it complex. There are delays when there is a problem."
"It needs a lot of end user training as it is not intuitive at all."
"The limitation of HCM compared to new-era human capital management solutions is the cost."
"The breadth of functionality offered by SAP HCM comes at a cost."
"What can be improved in SAP HCM depends on the industry it serves. The system's navigation could be simplified for users. The flow and integration between parts, like core HR, payroll, and recruiting, must be communicated properly. Users should focus on how doing things correctly from the start will improve things in the long run rather than feeling overwhelmed by tasks."
"There are already success factors for the cloud solution which cannot be integrated into S/4 HANA."
"The solution is rather expensive."
"ZingHR is not flexible and needs to improve offline support."
"ZingHR could improve by giving administration users from the front end the ability to make corrections. I am having to do the bulk corrections from an Excel upload from the system."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"You pay per license. There not any costs in addition to the standard licensing fees."
"The pricing depends upon the specific model and number of user accounts included in a bundle."

"SAP is expensive, but if you're using the product, then the expensive product becomes inexpensive. Considering its performance and features, I find it quite reasonable."

"The pricing is not reasonable at all."
