Credential management is one of the best

What is our primary use case?

The use cases we have focused on are:

  • A high privileged account in Azure cloud
  • NSG-ACL checks in Azure cloud
  • Certificate renewal process
  • Daily management reports.

How has it helped my organization?

UiPath has helped to solve our problems by automating all the process listed in the use cases in a short timeframe with the help of UiPath Studio. The major roadblock we faced was at the time of installation on Azure PaaS, and it was resolved by many twists and twigs of conditions based on the experience solutions enabler.

What is most valuable?

Features like:

  • The optical character recognition is excellent; I have personally tested this product.
  • Credential management is also one of the best.
  • Stability and UI responsiveness is good.

What needs improvement?

Improvements from product portfolio could be a product installation in an automated fashion, and support availability should be quick.

Easy to integrate a third-party library

What is our primary use case?

With automation, you can create daily reconciliation reports with no errors (UiPath helps to retrieve the report from SAP, mainframes, web sites, etc., and VBA macros help to create reports very quickly — very useful for back office works).

How has it helped my organization?

UiPath is about taking the robot out of humans so that humans can work on complex tasks.

What is most valuable?

  • Fast coding: completes the project very quickly
  • Easy to understand UiPath Studio and its components
  • All components are separate like UiPath Studio, Orchestrator, UiExplorer for creating complex selectors.
  • Easy to integrate a third-party library
  • UiPath has a community forum, and any member can provide solutions. The advantage of this is you will get a solution in much less time.

What needs improvement?

Only one cons I have seen so far as No Login Authentication: Whenever we are opening UiPath studio, it is not asking for any login credentials. Disadvantage is any one can open the studio and update the code/ change the code.

UI based automation and background automation can both be done

What is our primary use case?

  • I worked on the employee onboarding and offboarding process for a client.
  • I worked the reconciliation process for one of the financial clients.

How has it helped my organization?

I am working for multiple clients in the US on UiPath. UiPath is the most innovative tool for RPA. It pushes the innovation a step forward in every upgrade. UI based automation and background automation can both be done by UiPath. It makes every FTE job easier and much easier. Every business user feels much comfortable after their process gets automated so that they can keep their focus on some other productive work.

What is most valuable?

Web automation and Citrix automations are made very easy.

What needs improvement?

It is not compatible with some of the old windows applications.

I am dealing with the clients who still use 1990's power builder applications. The UiPath is unable to recognize the elements of the applications.

For how long have I used the solution?

One to three years.

What is our primary use case?

We are developing automation for healthcare claims, insurances, and billing. We are using UiPath for Citrix cloud, web, and desktop automation. We saved 60% FTE by using UiPath.

How has it helped my organization?

UiPath is an RPA tool which provides rapid process automation development as compared to other tools and technologies. UiPath provided a platform for interoperability of web, desktop and cloud environment, so we are able to make connections using UiPath.

What is most valuable?

  • Data scraping is a rich feature UiPath provided: We can easily fetch large data from the website.
  • Citrix automation allows us to automate cloud-based applications.

What needs improvement?

  • Provide detailed and prescribe 'Debug Mode' i.e Run from step like other debugger and Very useful 'Simulate click' needs to make more stable in next version.
  • Cognitive and machine learning features should add to make intelligent automation in Uipath.

Enables end-to-end automation without any human intervention

What is our primary use case?

I have done a POC in inventory management. We get an excel sheet with details of users, orders, and equipment. Using UiPath, I have done end-to-end automation without any human intervention.

How has it helped my organization?

UiPath improved our return on investments faster compared to before when we didn't use this tool. Human resources can be reduced in client work and increased at UI development.

What is most valuable?

  • Drag and drop
  • Flowchart and sequence used to build activities
  • Debugging
  • When we build the bot, we can easily find what we have done at any point in time.

What needs improvement?

Some areas where this product can be fully implemented is finance, invoice generation, and the work which has repeated tasks.

An intuitive tool for that saves us time with repetitive and boring tasks
Pros and Cons
  • "From jobs that require reading and processing emails, to jobs that require scraping information from web pages, this tool allows us to do anything that can be done by a human."
  • "Definitely, the machine learning engine should be improved so that we can process more invoices and purchase orders in PDF format with ease."

What is our primary use case?

I've used UiPath Studio to develop Automation projects that help me automate repetitive and manual tasks. This lets me focus on other, more important jobs to do.

How has it helped my organization?

I've been able to automate some tasks and projects both for me and my colleagues to help us with boring repetitive work. From jobs that require reading and processing emails, to jobs that require scraping information from web pages, this tool allows us to do anything that can be done by a human.

What is most valuable?

UiPath studio recorder allows us to automate jobs very quickly and very easily.

The tool is intuitive and precise. It is easy to use with not a lot of programming knowledge needed. Also, there many built-in activities that let us automate tasks. If there is no activity available then it is probable that somebody has built one already.

What needs improvement?

Definitely, the machine learning engine should be improved so that we can process more invoices and purchase orders in PDF format with ease. There is a beta version but it is not stable. This is the only place where UiPath needs to improve because their competitors have this option and it is useful.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using UiPath and UiPath Studio for more than a year.

Most of the automation is done with a simple click and select. The advantage is that it requires less coding.

What is our primary use case?

I am undergoing UiPath advanced certification. I am performing a use case of a bank where it has to send frequent reminders to its clients who took loans like home loan, personal loan, etc., to pay EMI every month on time. To improve the process for efficiency as well as accuracy, I used UiPath automation to interact with their internal applications and send reminders in a timely manner with no errors.

How has it helped my organization?

It definitely helped in reducing the human force for repetitive tasks. Things that I like most in UiPath is the way we can automate the repetitive and redundant tasks. The new feature like AI computer vision is top notch in this decade where AI and ML are like hot cakes to improve one's technical skills.

What is most valuable?

Most of the automation is done with a simple click and select items, directly on the automated system. The advantage in UiPath is that it requires less coding and has an easy learning curve.
As compared to Selenium, it's very fast and easy to implement.

What needs improvement?

When you update to a new version, sometimes opening previous versions solutions become difficult. The packages between versions become incompatible, and when you install a package from another version, the previous one is not removed, causing a startup error. I need a proper guide for versions and compatibility.

For how long have I used the solution?

Less than one year.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

No.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Automation Anywhere.

The learning suite of the academy and the certification process itself was invaluable

What is our primary use case?

Performing automation on both client and company infrastructure, and improving existing service workflows.

How has it helped my organization?

Specific to our organization, implementing a dedicated service to automate payment processing and client billing allowed us to justify overhauling the existing person-driven process, and improve on that by eliminating areas for human errors.

What is most valuable?

The learning suite of UiPath Academy and the certification process itself was invaluable in actually teaching our team to use the tool over the course of several weeks, and it got rid of a series of potential miscommunications by ensuring technical proficiency across the developer and management levels.

What needs improvement?

Lack of macOS support this far into the project lifecycle is distressing. While boot camp and alternatives exist, that's another hurdle to cross for client implementation. Additionally, it's hard to drive an open source community and not have the tools to connect with GitHub natively, while promoting paid corporate alternatives like TFS.

For how long have I used the solution?

Less than one year.
