Little knowledge of coding or RPA required to save time and eliminate errors in manual tasks
Pros and Cons
- "UiPath RPA needs very little coding knowledge, as designing software robots is done largely using drag-and-drop."
- "They still need some improvement in their new version of UiPath Studio, called StudioX, to improve design for Excel and email automation work."
What is our primary use case?
I am using UiPath RPA for my ERP entry where I update hundreds of data elements within minutes by RPA robots. UiPath gives you the degree of freedom in these robots to work according to your requirements. It is very easy to use even without coding knowledge, and it can be implemented with little knowledge of RPA.
How has it helped my organization?
In my organisation, we have 5000 students and 350 professors. To update their profile regularly, we need between five and eight people spending lots of time and after many reviews, there are always typing mistakes. Now with UiPath robots, we can complete this task within hours and without error.
What is most valuable?
UiPath RPA needs very little coding knowledge, as designing software robots is done largely using drag-and-drop. We can run these robots without installing them in our system, using the cloud-based system instead.
The attended robot that works in conjunction with an operator is very valuable.
What needs improvement?
They still need some improvement in their new version of UiPath Studio, called StudioX, to improve design for Excel and email automation work.
The OCR functions need to be improved.
For how long have I used the solution?
We have been using UiPath for one year.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
UiPath is my first RPA experience.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is very easy to use and install.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The best thing is that the UiPath Software is available as a Community Edition that is free and sufficient for personal use or small business.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I did not personally evaluable other RPA options. I heard only about UiPath because my company assigned me to learn UiPath RPA.
What other advice do I have?
I have been using UiPath for more than a year and find it very comfortable to use.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

RPA Developer at a tech services company with 10,001+ employees
If you are looking to automate VDIs, then this solution delivers you a powerful tool to do so
What is our primary use case?
Automation of high volume, repetitive processes. Both desktop and VDI/Citrix environments. We are going to implement it in the WFM team to reduce their workload and let them concentrate on more complex tasks.

UiPath is a great tool to quickly demonstrate the benefits of automation. It is fast to learn and implement. Therefore, it is easy to gain quick wins in time savings and reduction of human error rates.
What is most valuable?
If you are looking to automate VDIs, then UiPath delivers you a powerful tool to do so. Even better is that they are constantly making progress in that field and have some features coming up in the future that no other solution can deliver.
Also, UiPath gives you free access to their online learning academy which is really great if you are new to RPA and want to have a quick start in that field.

Works
Easy to integrate a third-party library
What is our primary use case?
With automation, you can create daily reconciliation reports with no errors (UiPath helps to retrieve the report from SAP, mainframes, web sites, etc., and VBA macros help to create reports very quickly — very useful for back office works).
How has it helped my organization?
UiPath is about taking the robot out of humans so that humans can work on complex tasks.
What is most valuable?
- Fast coding: completes the project very quickly
- Easy to understand UiPath Studio and its components
- All components are separate like UiPath Studio, Orchestrator, UiExplorer for creating complex selectors.
- Easy to integrate a third-party library
- UiPath has a community forum, and any member can provide solutions. The advantage of this is you will get a solution in much less time.
What needs improvement?
Only one cons I have seen so far as No Login Authentication: Whenever we are opening UiPath studio, it is not asking for any login credentials. Disadvantage is any one can open the studio and update the code/ change the code.
