Customization supports complex needs, though speed challenges persist
We don't use the reporting tools from Adobe Commerce as we have our own reporting infrastructure. Adobe Commerce can be complex in terms of ease of use, as it's such a large platform. From the development side, you can customize everything, but that does require substantial resources. When working on Adobe Commerce, I would want Adobe Commerce specialist developers. Although it's all built in PHP, and there are many PHP developers, I would want Adobe Commerce specialist developers working on it because they have knowledge about what to customize and more importantly, what's best not to touch. There are always site speed issues with Adobe Commerce. It seems to be an ongoing issue with performance. When comparing it to Shopify, you don't tend to need to worry about that, but with Adobe Commerce, it remains an ongoing issue. Additionally, there are all the upgrades, which can be quite painful, including the regular patches, both on the open-source and licensed version, on-premises. The initial setup for migrating to Adobe Commerce from another e-commerce platform is not straightforward; it's a very big job. The pricing for Adobe Commerce varies dramatically. Quite often, you see their list prices and then you are able to negotiate very hefty discounts. My understanding is that they're moving away from heavily discounting. Although our license where I am at the moment is heavily discounted, I'm hearing that they're trying to move away from that practice.

Composable commerce has supported complex ecommerce builds but documentation still needs work
The best features Spryker Systems offers, in my opinion, is that it is known as composable commerce. It contains numerous features and all the capabilities Spryker has. If you want to use it as a multiple system in a single place, that is the reason Spryker has much capability to achieve in the new AI era. If we want to use anything such as RabbitMQ or Docker, these are the capabilities Spryker has. I recommend Spryker for future clients as well. Over the last six months, I have found that Spryker Systems' composable commerce and integration capabilities have helped me because Spryker also has the capability with Docker. Using Docker, I can easily install Spryker on my system and utilize Spryker's multiple services such as queue services with a single click. I really appreciate that capability. Spryker Systems has positively impacted my organization as it is completely new to me. Right now, I am still expanding their features and exploring their capabilities. At an organizational level, I have found that multiple clients want a system that they can easily handle. Spryker is capable of doing it. At the organizational level, I have found many things that Spryker can easily achieve, and that is why Cognizant is ready to extend Spryker Systems' capabilities around their clients.

"The ecosystem includes thousands of vendors who are providing third-party add-ons."
"On the plus side, when you build everything from scratch in Magento, you can do magic with it."
"Magento has changed over the years, but one of the most interesting aspects is that it gets the job done, and a vast community of experts is knowledgeable about the solution."
"As compared to platforms such as ATG or Commerce Cloud, its interface is easy to use, Magento also provides seamless administration for business users, and you can leverage the out-of-the-box features of Magento, which is very valuable for startups."
"The solution's valuable features are the presentation layout and ease of use. When we have new people joining the team, it is simple for them to get involved very quickly."
"The most valuable feature in this solution I have found to be that I have the ability to find all the analytics that I need. It has very good integrations with social media platforms and other tools."
"The platform's composability is valuable as it provides a variety of extensions to interface with other solutions."
"Spryker Systems has had a positive impact on my company because we were able to generate a significant revenue increase in our e-commerce area."
"Over the last six months, I have found that Spryker Systems' composable commerce and integration capabilities have helped me because Spryker also has the capability with Docker."

Cons

"Magento 2 is only three to four years old, so it is an evolving technology."
"Should have a way to communicate properly with the team that builds the platform"
"The price of Adobe Commerce is very high, actually. If it were possible to have a free version or a limited version, that would be good for users."
"The way that Magento is built isn’t the friendliest for this kind of thing."
"More technical knowledge is required to keep a Magento website running smoothly compared to many other platforms like OpenCart."
"The performance is a bottleneck in Magento and there is a lot of room for improvement in this regard."
"Elasticsearch has really been a pain; it takes a toll on the performance, and starting with version 2.4, Magento requires Elasticsearch, which has been causing a lot of serious performance issues."
"Magneto is monolithic in character, making it difficult for us to scale up very high quickly on the content side."
"Spryker Systems is a good company with good customer support. However, there are also problems and setbacks from time to time."
"Spryker, even with its native features, often requires some development and configuration into the code, which is not straightforward in the beginning."
"Spryker Systems could be improved if we can reduce the complexity level."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Many implementations were open-source. We also had a couple of enterprise-level implementations, but I didn't have visibility on the licensing cost."
"This solution is cheaper than some of its competitors. However, the price depends on which country you are in. In some countries, such as Greece or some Southeastern European countries, the price for the client can be expensive."
"The price of the solution increased after Adobe acquired Magento. At this point, we know the price of Magento and SAP, and while they may have lower entry tickets, they are ultimately comparable."
"The product offers an open-source version, which is free. There are licensing options for Adobe Commerce's cloud version."
"The cost of implementation is cheap compared to other solutions."
"We transitioned from the platform's commercial license to the open-source version, which helped optimize costs without affecting our sales."
