An easy-to-use automation solution with satisfying customer support
With Alteryx, we mostly fetch data from SQL, SQL server databases, and SharePoint. Some team members were doing the task using Excel for a long time with Macros and Excel functions like VLOOKUP, and these things become quite easy when you are using Alteryx as a solution. We have automated the…

A tool for automation purposes requiring an easy initial setup while offering a very helpful technical support team
Zapier is not able to set up different modules. When automation doesn't work, it's not that easy to find why it didn't work. So, it's not about the automation process but the triggers that trigger an automation to start running. Sometimes if you set up an automation trigger on a specific application, we wouldn't know if Zapier received data to start running. So we cannot understand whether the problem is in Zapier or the steps before. Branching scenarios is something I want to add to the solution to make my life easier. We want to apply a logical workflow with a yes or no condition. On Zapier, you can have a condition, but you can build the actions after one value on this condition. So, the question can be responded to with a yes-no option or not answered. In your scenario, you have only the actions after yes get chosen. A second scenario is needed for the answer, no, and a third one for not answered. While in Make, we create a diagram, according to which if the response is yes, then do follow this path, and if it's no, then follow another path.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Alteryx Designer is easier to use for machine learning models. However, I am not very good at Python scripts which you will need to make the machine learning scripts."
"I have been using Alteryx Designer only for data modeling and data structuring."
"The solution's ability to hold a huge amount of data in its memory is significant."
"I believe in the ability to connect to multiple data sources, as well as the ease of use to transform data and output data in a variety of formats."
"The most valuable features are the integrated properties and integrated connectivity."
"The tool's most valuable feature is its API connections. Its predictive analytics feature has helped us pass some ETL processes to analysts rather than developers."
"Alteryx Designer is a tool that is pretty much easy to install."
"The solution is user-friendly."
"Zapier luckily has a wide range of integrations, I would say."
"We can connect Zapier with Zoho CRM for lead generation. I like the tool's drag and drop feature."
"There are a few valuable features, like the stability that it comes with and also the number of features that it offers. I've used other services like Pabbly, but they don't offer similar numbers of applications that Zapier has or allows to integrate with – it's maximum."
"The most valuable feature of Zapier is it saves me time doing repetitive tasks."
"What's most valuable in Zapier is its simplicity, seamlessness, and smooth plug-in, so you won't need to build code for every action. I'm not a developer, but I can use Zapier."
"The product's initial setup phase was very easy."
"The product's most valuable feature is automation."
"Zapier's interface, for me, is the solution's greatest value proposition. It is designed and developed for people who don't have a clue about what they're trying to do. It has a very user-friendly interface."

Cons

"Alteryx Designer is not as fast as SSIS and is not good for large datasets. It also needs to improve database procedures. Though it is easy to use, it is limited in terms of technical aspects."
"Alteryx could move faster to create a cloud equivalent of the desktop version of Designer."
"The major concern in Alteryx Designer stems from the high costs attached to the product."
"If the price were reduced then it would be more competitive."
"The product could offer more connectors and more databases with support for the in-database function."
"It is challenging to view the data using Alteryx Designer."
"Alteryx Designer's cost should be improved."
"The actual usage part of it needs to be explained more. It's too vague right now."
"After mapping them out, and they'd worked for a while, I've had Zapier fail."
"Zapier could be a little faster, but that might not be possible. I would encourage Zapier to make more API endpoints for each application"
"The pricing of the solution is quite expensive."
"Being able to share Zaps and organize them with teammates would allow sharing and refining scenarios and even combining steps that require different people's credentials."
"With Zapier, improvements are required in the areas of concerns like bugs, ease of use, and documentation."
"It could support various languages along with Python."
"There is room for improvement in the support. They are not responsive, and they don't take much time to get resolved."
"I would like to see them improve the Quickbase integration. Currently, it only allows triggering actions when records are added, but it would be more useful if we could also trigger actions when records are modified or deleted."
