Centralized control effectively manages devices while updates require powered-on systems
I use Bitdefender GravityZone EDR for the grooming industry. It is primarily utilized for the office environment The features I find most effective for threat detection include centralized control policy distribution and the control of independent devices, such as printers, laptops, and desktops…

Easy to set up with good behavior-based analysis but needs a single-click recovery option
Most organizations are currently looking for a scheduled scan to meet their compliance needs. Other players like Symantec and Trend Micro, FireEye, et cetera, are still providing the signature-based regular scheduled scans also, which is not available in CrowdStrike. That is one parameter that we feel should be there in CrowdStrike. CrowdStrike is only working on the dynamic or the files under execution. CrowdStrike is not scanning the static files. The product could be more accurate in terms of performance. We'd like to have a single-click recovery option. With some machines getting corrupted by malware, we need an easy way to start with a blank slate if things happen. That one feature should be there in the EDR.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"After deploying Bitdefender, it provides detailed logs about any threats encountered and quarantines the threat. It synchronizes this information, and you can see which PC or device faced the threat when you log into the console."
"I like the risk assessment tool built into Bitdefender GravityZone EDR because I'm really into risk assessments and vulnerability testing."
"It's hard to pick just one valuable feature as almost all of the main features are very useful. However, the ability to manage it centrally and have detailed control over settings, exceptions and other configurations is extremely beneficial."
"I have access to it from anywhere."
"The setup was easy."
"They are constantly updating the solution against malware."
"The advantage of the solution is that it has a console on the cloud and you can update the clients."
"I have found Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra to be highly scalable."
"It's ability to do threat hunting is really great, quite robust, and even allows you to do hygiene stuff."
"The initial setup is a very fast process."
"The solution is silent and sits on your system as one single agent."
"The most valuable feature is the indicator of compromise, which show you what file was either quarantined or removed."
"The EDR and XDR features have been most valuable."
"We like Falcon's network visibility. We can see how threats are evolving on PCS or in the company network. The solution's real-time incident response is very fast."
"The detection is very effective."
"EDR is effective in CrowdStrike."

Cons

"The graphical user interface for EDR could be improved."

"For many, the problems come mostly when they start tweaking or short-cutting - particularly for patch management."
"Policy customization and deployment need a little bit of improvement. The push policies, the first line, and all those things."
"What would make Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra better is if Bitdefender employed more firewall policies and added even more features to the product."
"They should include the Hebrew language for its technical support in terms of communication."
"The reporting is much too simple."
"In the future, maybe this will need to morph into AI threat intelligence."
"One thing that is not yet available is attack simulation."

"The price is too high."
"We'd like to see more integration capabilities."
"CrowdStrike Falcon's GUI requires improvement for user-friendliness."

"Licensing is done on a yearly basis and it's workstation-based."

"The price is per license per endpoint. The price is different for everyone, but we find the price is cheap for us."
"Bitdefender GravityZone Ultra is less expensive than other solutions, such as CrowdStrike. We had a really good deal because it was their year-end and they were trying to do a lot of sales that week. We bought a three-year contract from them and the cost was approximately $17 per endpoint, per year. It is was a very good price. I have spoken to other people who have purchased CrowdStrike at approximately $60 per endpoint, per year. I have no complaints about the price of this solution."

"We are at about $60,000 per year."
